  • Why is my dryer tripping the circuit?

    It's an LG DLE5977W.

Trips the circuit after about 5 minutes. So I put it on "air dry" and it's not tripping the circuit. Does that mean I should replace the heating element?

    Thanks!

  • Is flashing above the garage necessary?

I have a home in Houston, TX. When I had an inspector come by, he pointed out that there's no flashing above the garage.

We're having warranty work done on the home. So my wife showed the builder that there's no flashing above the garage. His response was that it's not necessary because we have a balcony outside our master bedroom which hangs over the garage.

Is this true? The inspector said the house wasn't up to code because there was no flashing above the garage, but he didn't mention any exception because of a balcony hanging over the garage.

I don't know, I'm just a first-time homeowner. And I don't want them doing unnecessary work on the outside of our home, but at the same time, I want our house built to code (at least!).

    Thanks for your help!

  • How close to a stop sign can you park in Houston, TX?

And what is the penalty for parking too close to a stop sign?

They just painted red lines on the curbs near stop signs and fire hydrants in my residential neighborhood of about 60 homes. Someone parked within that red line and the homeowner's association had the car towed.

I wonder if that was legal. I thought if anything, they should call the police and have a fine assessed ... which would be something along the lines of $35.

The closest resource I could find is this site:

    http://www.houstontx.gov/parking/violationcodes.ht...

It doesn't even mention stop signs though. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Can you help me identify this bike?

    Hey,

Trying to find out more information about a bike. I'm totally new to this, so I apologize in advance. A friend is offering to give me a bike to get started, but I don't know how it compares to the one I have. Here's all I know about it:

The frame is silver, aluminum. On the top bar, the sticker's peeling but it says something about aluminum. The bottom, angled bar says fs elite on it. It's a 21-speed dual index. Shimano brakes. Yellow duo track 7007 front suspension fork. I also wrote down that it has the phrase "aac 900" written on it, but I forget where.

I could take that bike or keep one that I already have. It's a giant rincon se aluxx6061. Bought back in like 2002 I think.

Do you know anything about the first one described? How does it compare to the second. Thoughts? ANY advice/opinions/etc. would be appreciated because I'm over my head here. Thanks so much!
