Ok, so right now I am 19 and going into my sophomore year of college. I am American/British and from Illinois but I'm studying interior architecture in London, England. I tried earlier this year to transfer to an American college for the 2011/2012 year but didn't get in so as of right now I am going back to London for sophomore year.

But before I go back to college in London there are a bunch of things I need to sort out and a lot of uncertainties about this coming year (I don't know where I will live or who I will live with , if anyone, money, etc) and also I'm scared since its an off campus living even while having friends to call I might get lonely and I know I'll be missing my parents in the USA a lot but will be too far to visit them frequently.

And while trying to figure all this out I am also weighing options that would allow me to stay in the USA without wasting a year not studying, and its too late to apply to any colleges now.

I want to try to transfer for the 2012/2013 year, and be able to go straight into my junior year of college.

So! My question is, is there a way I can maybe do a year long internship at an architecture firm, for example, and be able to use that experience to transfer straight into junior year even if I don't complete sophomore year??

Does that make sense lol??

So for a couple of months now i've been waking up earlier than usual. on a weekday i typically go to bed around 10 30-11pm and have to wake up around 6 30 for school. (so i get like 7 hr...) ans when i wake up that early i feel really tired and could easily fall back asleep.

And on the weekends it varies, but even when i go to bed at like 12am or 1am i can't sleep past 8 30-9...though i still would be getting 7 hr i feel the need to get up and i have trouble going back to sleep. i feel ok physically, just my eyes feel tired..

so my question is, although i get the same amount of sleep on in weekday as the weekend, why does going to bed earlier and waking up earlier make me more tired than going to bed later and waking up later, even though it's the same number of hours??

so my computer was working fine, but was making a buzzing noise,so i decided to clean it. i opened it up and carefully vacuumed it and cleaned the fans. then i plugged all the cables in the right spots and turned the computer and monitor on and got this message:

monitor is working

i've had this problem before but i can't remember how it was fixed...i think there was some switch in it that needed to be switched on or something..

i've unplugged and replugged everything, held the power button down for 10 sec, and i don't have another monitor to test..

so during my photography class i was developing film and i exposed it (i rolled it and i put it in the canister in the dark room but didn't put the lid on...then i walked out and someone turned on the light so....)

so i know how/why my film was exposed, because the lid was off, but i was wondering why does the film not get exposed when the lid is off and you're rinsing and pouring in chemicals etc? because the lights are on and the lid if off so why doesn't it get exposed then too?

just wondering...

for an assignment for my art class i have to draw 3 things that symbolize who i am or what i like.

i want to do music, art, and family/friends. but idk what to draw to symbolize each?

i don't want to do the obvious (ipod/headphones, cell phone and pencil etc)

sometimes i get a tight sort of heavy feeling in my chest and i don't know why! its doesn't hurt at all and its not hard to breath, (but it is a bit harder to take deep breaths when this happens)

im only 17 so i'm assuming its nothing serious? i eat fairly well i guess, and 100 lbs, rarely have fast food etc, but don't do regular exercise.

mine was 2 years ago. some girl asking about how to develop her style...i didn't get best answer..

we were having a discussion in english about racism/race (we were talking about why books are censored) and my teacher was like well really, what is race? the first person to answer said skin color, which i immediately thought of too, but then my teacher said well no, because she has a niece who is mixed but is fairer than her (white) son, and (i just now was thinking also there are "black" people who are lighter than some "indian" people..so...) and then someone said race is determined by like where your ancestors are from. then my teacher was like, not really... (can't remember her reason but it made sense). then someone said race is kinda something we, society has made up. i guess to like isolate certain groups of people for some reason or another..

but i'd never though of it that way before, race not really existing, but really what IS race...just want to hear some opinions, thoughts, experiences, whatever.

i have to write a research paper on anything about the civil war. i'm going to write about Ulysses S. Grant and Robert e. Lee, and like compare them. but i have no idea what my thesis/argument should be!!!

and could i find enough on this topic to talk about for a whole research paper?

my computer has been acting strange lately. its been running slow and a get A LOT of pop-ups, even though my pop-up blocker is on and i keep getting anti-virus pop-ups telling me to download it..so i've done some searches and free scans and i'm pretty sure i have adware, spyware, malware and trojans. i read somewhere that a sure way to get rid of it is to backup my entire hard disk then re-install everything.

i'm using an external hard drive to do this and the windows back up wizard, but since i'm not positive where the spyware etc is coming from, i don't know if i should backup all the information on my computer or just the my documents and settings or choose individually, but then i don't know what things to choose!

help please?

i'm thinking about getting some ugg-like boots (not the real kind, but a cheaper alternative) so they wouldn't be sheep skin or anything. how would they be in snow? i'd be wearing them from the car to school and inside, and sledding or something. do you think they'd be water proof and last and have minimal stains?

so. the homecoming dance is this Saturday. i don't want to go (went last 2 years and it was sorta fun, but got boring at times..).

hi im in london for the summer and i wanted to know where i can buy some shoes in the london area for £50 and under. but i don't want to go to the more popular stores like faith, topshop, barrats, new look etc cause i've been there and the shoes are ok but i'm looking for more unique, trendy cool ones.

well. for as long as i can remember i've been scared of spiders. im not really scared of tiny ones (unless the jump, like the ones in my bathroom!) *shudders*

this fear is seriously getting on my nerves, i mean i know that they can't/don't want to harm me (so it must all be a psychological fear), but i'm still freaked out. one of the small jumping ones is in my bathroom right now and i don't want to go in there. at all. how can i stop being so scared, or at least not too scared to get rid of them? even the thought of spiders makes me scared......so sad.

help.

btw i've seen on here that people say to catch one to get over the fear, but seriously i can't handle that.
