Gah! This 2ww is torture!?
I'm only 6 dpo, but I'm over analyzing every little sign, and driving myself nuts! I got mild cramping yesterday, but I think it's too early for implantation. Anyone else in the 2ww, and what are you doing to keep yourself from going nuts?
4 AnswersTrying to Conceive1 decade agoSecond parent adoption in NC?
My wife and I are planning on moving to NC in about a year. We're going to have our first baby before we move (i will give birth), and she'll be able to adopt the baby without a problem living where we are now. The only concern I have is if we have a second child after we move.
Right now as the law in NC reads (as far as I can understand) is that for 2 people to adopt a child, they must be married. If I were to want to adopt a child while living down there, only I could do it. My wife couldn't also adopt the same child because NC doesn't recognize our marriage as valid.
But what if I physically give birth to the child? I can't seem to find any laws that pertain to that. I know I'll be the mother of the child with all of my rights, but I want my wife to have rights too. I know that we could just go ahead and get Power of Attorney of the baby, but I'd like for her to adopt the baby if at all possible.
I've tried to get in touch with other lesbian couples that are currently living in NC with children, and ask them how they secure their rights as parents, but unfortunately, I haven't had much luck in getting answers.
If anyone knows any information from either legal experience or personal experience, it would be greatly appreciated.

2 AnswersAdoption1 decade agoLesbian moving to NC?
My wife and I are considering moving from Mass. to North Carolina, specifically to the Fuquay-Varina area in a couple of years. We are planning on waiting until after we have a child, so that way my wife can do a second-parent adoption, which I know we wouldn't be able to do in NC.
How much a culture shock will it be to move from our liberal world (both of us have grown up in MA) to a southern state and raise a family there?
Would there be a chance of danger to our family?
Would it be extremely difficult?

What sort of names should we go with. We don't want anything overused, like Domino, or Checkers. So far we have names like Emperor Fabulous, Tollbooth Willy, Papelbon, and Wesley Windham Price, as well as about 100 others. Any other suggestions that we might not have?
12 AnswersCats1 decade agoSomething to ponder about Obama?
I'm not sure if I agree with this or not, but I got this message, and want to see what other people think about it.
"Body: I have felt for sometime now that Obama is the one person that 'Frightens Me'. I believe the Bible has warned us that 'A man will come from the East that will be charismatic in nature and have proposed solutions for all our problems and his rhetoric will attract many supporters!'
When will our pathetic Nation quit turning their back on God and understand that this man is 'A Muslim'....First, Last and always....and we are AT WAR with a Muslim Nation, whether our bleeding-heart, secular, Liberal friends believe it or not. This man fits every description from the Bible of the 'Anti-Christ'!
Who is Barack Obama?
Probable U. S. presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black MUSLIM from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white ATHEIST from Wichita , Kansas.

Back Yard Breeders Excuses
What other excuses have you heard?
1. When called on bad breeding practices, ALWAYS claim that you are merely an innocent, posting as a favor to a friend or family member.
2. Point out that everybody you know breeds this way, therefore it must be okay.
3. Claim that "snobby show breeders" are only criticizing you because they want to corner the market on puppy profit.
4. Claim that a Champion in the pedigree is just as good as 56 Champions in the pedigree. Not that it matters, because you doubt that there is such a thing as a dog with 56 champions in the pedigree.
5. Claim that you are just trying to produce good pets, therefore good pets are all you need for breeding.
6. When asked about health testing, enthusiastically point out that your ***** had a health checkup before breeding.
14 AnswersDogs1 decade agohow difficult and expensive is second parent adoption?
Since we live in MA, my wife's name will be on the birth certificate as the second parent when I have a baby, but it's been advised that we go through having her adopt the baby anyways so that we don't run into problems if we happen to be out of state. Is there a specific way she would have to adopt "federally"?
5 AnswersAdoption1 decade agoIs anyone else sick of "is so and so gay?"?
I mean come on. How many times do we have to listen to "Is he gay?" "Is she bi?" "Is my roommate that likes to walk around naked and yesterday asked me if I would sleep with her a lesbian?" How the heck would we know? We don't know these people. If they're your friend, then you should be able to talk to them about it. And if you're not their friend, then who the heck cares? Is your world going to end if they turned out to be gay? Am I the only person sick of these questions?

I know, I'm kinda sappy and stuff, but I've always believed in adopting dogs that truly need homes instead of getting from pet stores or breeding pets or mutts. I love this commercial and the message it sends
14 AnswersDogs1 decade agoJust bought my first 4 wheel drive?
It's a 94 Chevy S10 Blazer Tahoe. I love it already, but I've never had a 4 wheel drive truck before. Whats the difference between 4-hi and 4-low, and when should each be used? I've turned on the 4-hi so far to help get through the snow and ice, and it's worked great, but I don't know if I should be using 4-low, or when I should. Also, if anyone knows anything else about these trucks, I'd love to know.

Honestly, I know this question has probably been asked before, but thats because it's so darn confusing. Maybe it's one of those things that you still have to be in High School to recognize the subtleties.

The symbolism of St. Patrick chasing the snakes out of Ireland, or killing them, is about getting the Pagans out of Ireland. Fellow Pagans, let's reclaim the land, and call this "Bring Back the Snakes Day"!
