why is scripture often not considered at least probabilistic proof by atheists?
If i were to write a book tomorrow claiming divine inspiration; lets say 500 pages. and I make 35 statements in that book relating to scientific discoveries. if after 1300 years 20 of my 35 statements are identifiable as true; and all 35 of my 35 statements contain factual error. (i.e. the other 15 cannot be disproven or proven yet)
the above case would indicate the either i was:
A) very lucky and improbable events happened.
B) or my claim of divine origin is accurate and I was not lucky.
if you opt for option A then you are preferring the improbable.
so why not consider option B?

I was reading an interesting religious math article by a christian mathematician from the 15th century; and he made an excellent point:
if multiple gods were to exist it creates too many problems.
A) the gods cannot be infinite (i.e. without beginning or end) and all encompassing because one would have to encompass the other in order to be all encompassing.
B) they could not be omnipotent because they would have to be able to stronger and weaker than each other at the same time. or be able to contradict each other in many ways.
I can't post a link or anything because I only have the article in a book that I own that I currently re-reading.
what do you Christians think about the work of (in my opinion brilliant man)?
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agodo you think that abrahimc religions are intolerant of gay people?
many people criticize the Christianity, Judaism, and Islam for being against gays and gay rights.
the argument that being gay could be biologically and psychologically natural does not mean that is natural and healthy:
Many people are born with all sorts of psychological and biological problems or a pairing of the two that are unhealthy.
-many people are born more likely to become alcoholics or substance abusers based on inherited biological traits, but it does not mean that this natural.
-anxiety; there are biological propensities towards people having high anxiety.
-anti-social behavior. Again same as the above two points; many people can be born like this. there are many biological and psychological indicators to test for this, but it is not accepted as normal; and people are treated for this.
There are many other things I could mention but I think the point is clear.
all of the above are things that we consider to b abnormal human behavior. so if we simply considered being gay as abnormal behavior you could just put it into the same category.
obviously men and women anatomically go together and breeding offspring is a natural purpose; two people of the same-sex obviously do not "go together" at least in the physical mechanics aspect of it; and they obviously cannot produce offspring.
seems reasonable to me that this would be considered unnatural behavior.
lastly the argument that animals engage in gay practices is irrelevant; as animals can also be anti-social, have anxiety, or much of the same problems humans can have.
do you think that Abrahamic religions are intolerant?
