do you think that abrahimc religions are intolerant of gay people?

many people criticize the Christianity, Judaism, and Islam for being against gays and gay rights.

the argument that being gay could be biologically and psychologically natural does not mean that is natural and healthy:

Many people are born with all sorts of psychological and biological problems or a pairing of the two that are unhealthy.

-many people are born more likely to become alcoholics or substance abusers based on inherited biological traits, but it does not mean that this natural.

-anxiety; there are biological propensities towards people having high anxiety.

-anti-social behavior. Again same as the above two points; many people can be born like this. there are many biological and psychological indicators to test for this, but it is not accepted as normal; and people are treated for this.

There are many other things I could mention but I think the point is clear.

all of the above are things that we consider to b abnormal human behavior. so if we simply considered being gay as abnormal behavior you could just put it into the same category.

obviously men and women anatomically go together and breeding offspring is a natural purpose; two people of the same-sex obviously do not "go together" at least in the physical mechanics aspect of it; and they obviously cannot produce offspring.

seems reasonable to me that this would be considered unnatural behavior.

lastly the argument that animals engage in gay practices is irrelevant; as animals can also be anti-social, have anxiety, or much of the same problems humans can have.

do you think that Abrahamic religions are intolerant?

Update:

being anti-social does not mean someone is unhappy.

many people are loners and feel happier being alone, but those around them still may want them to get treatement cause they feel its unhealthy. harm and benefit are kind of subjective things...

Update 2:

as for the statement of hate being the only common ground between the three faiths...

how about WORSHIPING THE SAME GOD!

that's not a common ground?

    Absofrigginlutely.

Yes, the point is that you're an intolerant homophobic bigot as well.

Are you serious? All the problems you listed to make your point are things that effect a persons happiness.

Being with with who you're naturally drawntowards makes you happy. The only unhappiness anybody truly gets from being homosexual is from others.

People who are homosexual and deny it and live a lie tend to be unhappy.

Look at Ellen Degeneres. Come on you can't tell me something is wromg with her. She's like the sweetest, friendliest and most sane person there is.

Wait, did you just compare alcoholics and substance abusers to homosexuals?

    Wow.

It's downright shameful of you to need this explaining.

Alcoholics and substance users are seriously harming themselves, and often others, and even end up killing or stealing for their cause.

What two adults do in private, which isn't hurting anyone, is not something which anyone else should be trying to legislate for.

That's an extreme position. There are SOME of each of those traditions who are OK with it. The more fundamental, the more intolerant.

I don't like it when Christians accuse me of being part of an organized atheist belief system. I don't think it's right to do to others what I don't want done to me. I would encourage you to adopt such a value. Your self-esteem suffers when you treat others badly..

I think that those who are intolerant are the ones making the news.

Most of the christians that I know are more than tolerant. And ALL of the gays that I know are christians.

There's so much more to sex than just reproduction, most adults have sex thousands of times but only have a couple of children. If sex is mainly about reproduction then why bother with the thousands of other times that produce no off spring?

I think the Abrahamic religions have a very primitive view of sex.

Hate is the one common ground between Christians, Jews and Muslims.

  • TLDR

No, the God of the Bible loves everyone.

Yes, but the difference is that being gay doesn't actually harm the individual in any way, in case you didn't notice.
