  • Does anyone have experience with Fabior, Tazorac or Aczone?

I'm a 20 year old female who was told to come off of birth control because of some genetic defects that could be worsened by the hormones. I never had a breakout in my life, but months after stopping birth control I have started having bad acne. I saw my dermatologist who prescribed Aczone and Tazorac for my face, and Fabior for my chest and back. She said it was normal for the acne to get worse before it gets better, but I had no idea it would be THIS bad!

My chest had small bumps in some places before treatment, but ever since I started applying Fabior, big red breakouts have formed all over. The acne on my back has also dramatically worsened, working its way from my neck all the way down to where my bra hits. My face after about a month of using Aczone/Taz just keeps getting worse.

My dermatologist says this is normal, but for anyone who's used these creams/foams, WHEN will this new acne clear up? I feel like all it's done is made me look much worse than I did at the start.

Any feedback/experiences would be much appreciated, thanks!

  • How fast do antibiotics start clearing up an ear infection?

I was prescribed Bactrim for an ear infection that started when I woke up this morning. Since it just started, it got worse and worse all day and I'm in a lot of pain. I'm wondering if experts think the infection will get worse before it gets better -- i've already taken 2 pills of Bactrim (out of 10).

Does anyone know when the antibiotics will start clearing up the infection?

PS - I'm 19 years old (I know that ear infections are different between adults and infants)

  • How to stop lightheadedness?

I woke up this morning feeling incredibly lightheaded whenever I move my head. I'm having a lot of trouble focusing and I'm feeling a little motion sick from the dizziness. I think this could possibly be a symptom of Hurricane Sandy because the pressure is so low outside. My ears are also popping. Please let me know of anything I can be doing to stop the lightheadedness!

  • Help with abnormal bleeding between periods?

I just switched birth controls a little over 2 weeks ago, and yesterday I experienced very heavy/dark brown/black bleeding all of a sudden--it seemed like more than spotting. It's very slow today and seems like its stopping. I also missed two pills in the first week and one last week due to getting adjusted to college life. Could the switch over to the new pill/missing some pills be the reason for this bleeding? My OB is taking a long time to call back & I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this as well.

I alos have polycystic ovarian syndrome but the birth control has been regulating this well for over 3 months so I didn't think that could be one of the reasons.

  • Rank these colleges based on admissions difficulty?

I'm going through the college process and would appreciate any opinions on the difficulties of admissions at these 6 schools & any suggestions/info you may have to offer on any of them! Thank you!! If you could rank them from hardest to easiest (obviously opinion based) that would be awesome.

Franklin and Marshall College, Connecticut College, University of Maryland, Syracuse University, Trinity College, and University of Rochester are the schools I'm primarily interested in!

  • Do I have a UTI & a yeast infection at the same time?

I went to the doctor and got prescription meds for my UTI. Just a day after, the intense itching of EVERYTHING down there started up, like a yeast infection. I understand that UTI's itch, but it also itches in the other place too... I know, ew. So I'm pretty sure I have both at the same time.

Here's my real question: can I take the prescription meds for the UTI and Monistat 7 for the yeast infection at the same time? Or will it cause harm or counteract each other?

    Please help, I'm so confused.

    Thanks

  • Am I allergic to Monistat?

A few days ago I used Monistat cream to help treat my yeast infection.

Yesterday I noticed a pink splotch on my right hip that is slightly itchy. I don't know if this is a reaction or just because I have chronic dry skin and eczema...

I also have a small splotch forming on my stomach and another on my back. I'm confused as to whether this is because of the cream or if it's because of the conditions I previously addressed.

Does this sound like eczema/dry skin? Or an allergic reaction?

Please take note that I have used Monistat products before and they have never created any problems for me.

    Thanks

  • Should I have sex with him?

I know I'm going to sound a little stupid.

I'm 16, he's 17. We've been best friends since 7th grade. Yesterday we were talking and I mentioned about how I was ready to lose my virginity. He told me that he really wanted to lose his too.

So I'm thinking about having sex with him. I've taken years of health class. We would take the necessary precautions to prevent STDs and a pregnancy.

I feel like it would be really special to lose it to my best friend, and he feels the same way.

I don't know if I should and wanted a second opinion.

    Thanks so much

  • How early should I get to the Early Show in order to get in?

I reserved free tickets to see Enrique Iglesias perform on the Early Show. They said that they overbooked in order to make sure the crowd looked full on camera, what time should I get there so that I'm guaranteed a spot in the audience?

The wristband booth opens at 10:30 AM. I was thinking of getting there at around 8:00, is that a smart time?

I don't want to do it myself, but I need to know who to call. Is it a job for an eye doctor or a dermatologist?

Do they burn it off or freeze it, and does this hurt?

  • Will I get kicked out of the movie theater?

I'm going to the movies with my friends and we want to see "I Love You, Man" an R-rated movie.

We arent old enough to see it, and if we are caught sneaking into that showing, will we get kicked out or legally punished? I'm not much of a daredevil so these things make me nervous...=[

  • Is it okay to swear in a paper when you are quoting a book?

My ninth grade english class just finished reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

In my midterm essay I am writing about the book, a quote I'm using says "ni*ger" several times.

I am wondering if you think it's okay to write the word without bleeping out any of the letters.

    Give some suggestions, please.

    Thanks a bunch!

  • urinary tract infection question?

I've had a urinary tract infection for a little over two days now. I went to my doctor who prescribed me antibiotics which took the blood out of my urine and eased some discomfort... but now I have another problem...

It itches like crazy down there! I don't think this is normal, I thought it only itched when you have a yeast infection. I'm very worried that it's irritated.

    Please help!
