Good jewelry gift for first grader?
I need a gift for a 5-6 six year old, very fashionable girl. Was considering necklaces by juicy or betsy johnson, or maybe some classic pearls. What sounds best? Or something different? Not sure what's in fashion now.

I need a gift for a 5-6 year old, looking for something in the 50 dollar range. I wanted to get her a necklace, but don't know what is fashionable with girls that age. For those with girls that age, what is popular now? I was considering a juicy couture pendant, a betsy johnson pendant (the fun ones with the animals on them), or a more classic pearl necklace. Any opinions from those who know?
6 AnswersGrade-Schooler1 decade agoHow can I fix a too short haircut with short layers?
I went in with a hairstyle kind of like Jacqueline Smith, asked for something shorter - shoulder length, fun and feminine and soft, and ended up with Hillary Clinton hair! It's so full of short layers that it won't even curl (I have naturally curly hair) and when I straighten it all the layers just look like dried frizz on the ends of my hair. She called it "texture." I can't do anything at all with the style because of the length and all the layers - it is completely unchangeable. I was thinking of either getting it cut again - can they fix the layers by somehow cutting out some of the layers and making is less layered? Or getting hair extensions, but I don't know anything about them. What do they cost, what kinds are there, etc. Does anyone know of good hair extensions you can buy and clip in that look natural? Any knowledgeable advice would be helpful.
4 AnswersHair1 decade agoDoes anyone else get upset when they see questions about cry it out?
I just get so upset when I see someone writing about their month old baby crying all night, or even for ten minutes, and then asking how they can get the baby to sleep through the night. I have to shut off the computer! I can't even try to answer those questions because I just want to scream and call them names. What kind of mother can do that? The sound of my baby howling makes ME want to cry. I just feel so sorry for those babies and get so mad at the parents. It doesn't matter that they're not my babies. I can't stand it. Does anyone else get upset when they see those questions?
16 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoHow do you deal with children who hit on the playground?
I have an 11 month old, crawling but not walking, and took him to the baby playground today. There was another child there, maybe 15 months, who walked up to my baby and hit him on the head, hard, and then ran away. My baby whined for a minute, but then wanted to keep playing. I stood really close to him after that to make sure it didn't happen again, but the little hitter came right up to him, while I was standing there, and took another swing. And I mean a real swing - these were not baby punches, these were intentional and pretty hard and fast. I reached down and blocked his hand as best I could, but in the process accidentally knocked him over (I didn't push him, but unbalanced him when I blocked his arm). I felt really bad, and tried to say I was sorry and help him up, but of course he didn't understand. No parent came up to me afterward, and actually there was no parent in sight that seemed to be paying attention to him. After that I just left the play area. What should I have done? I couldn't let my baby get hit again, and it happened too fast to move him out of the way. What do you do when this happens?
7 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoI'm wondering if the seams in my granite countertop are too big and if they are filled properly?
It was installed just a few days ago. It's black granite. There is one seam about halfway between the L-bend and the sink and it looks very obvious to me. It just looks too big, and there is more glue at one end than the other (I can see the clear glue). Also, the seam along the back of the countertop (there is also a short backsplash in the same granite) is filled with the same clear glue and it looks uneven (the glue) and too obvious. I don't know if I'm being too picky and looking to closely, or if I shouldn't see the seams and glue at all. How can I tell?
