  • Brakes have locked up moving forward, not in reverse - why?

I have a 03 RANGER 2.3L 5SP, When in first gear it feels as if I am trying to drive with my foot on the brake...when in N it will roll backward but not forward and it does drive in R but when in first - and the gears are engaged - it will drive a few MPH at best because the brakes feel as if they are being applied or are locked.

Can anyone diagnoses from that info as to what I should expect to have done to fix and what it might cost (ballpark)?

  • In BASEBALL, How many homeruns did Willie Mays and Hank Aaron have when they were tied?

Some where around the 1972 season, Hank Aaron passed Willie Mays for total homeruns, in the end, Aaron had 715 and Mays had 660. The question is at what point of this accumulation of homeruns were they tied and I believe but I am not sure it was in 1972.

This kind of research - I'm not good at, if some one can give the the amount at the time they were tied - in fact, it's possible they may have been tied more then once!

Certainly worthy of being a good trivia question if the answer is clearly defined.

  • When is it acceptable to break a promise?

Scenario: A Father has a large inheritance and promises it to his children. But he tells them he has to go away for a long time and he instructs them how to behave while he’s gone and upon his return he will give them their inheritance.

When he returns he finds them living a life of elegance; full of arrogance they fail to recognize him. He attempts on several occasions to convince them who he is but they remain steadfast in their rejection of him.

Eventually he’s had enough and he chastises them for what they’ve become and revokes his promise, leaving them no different then the world around them.

Did the father have the right to revoke this promise?

Besides messing up your credit score or taking parts of your income - what can they do, if say you send them 10-20 $ each month instead of the full amount...I once heard and would need to confirm that once any payment of any amount is taken by them they are in essence - agreeing with your terms...any lawyers out there with an opinion?

  • How long will RV batteries last with everything on?

You’re in the desert where during the day it gets up to 95-100 degrees and drops only to about 80 at night; therefore you run the a/c continually. Also you have a refrigerator and freezer combo run on the battery along with all the lights and other electrical outlets for TV’s, dvd and cd players ect.

How long would they last running 24/7?

  • Memory stick, does it update a document automatically?

What I mean, I have a document I am working on (an on-going written project) and when I am done working on it, I plug in the memory stick to copy the update version. What I do is delete the old, so the m/s is empty and then copy the update back on to it.

This works fine...but I was wondering if it might already be doing it automatically.

When I plug it in, already having the old document, it activates immediately as the light blinks for a few seconds and then stops...I was wondering if it recognizes the same document (because of same name) and automatically updates changes and additions?

If it was, I wouldn't have to remove it each time and recopy all over again.

So my question: Is it recognizing the old and automatically updating the document? or do I need to continue as I have...

JFYI - yes, it would be easier to just get an answer then go back and mess with it just to see...so in advance, thanks.

  • When Jesus returns, does He return, only for the “few”?

I’ve read in the Bible where Peter gives an indication of how few are a few with a comparison to the days of Noah. Clearly Peter is referencing just how small a number of people few actually represents. Well, here’s what it said:

“… once the long-suffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved...” I Peter 3:20

It’s clear, he has compared a “few” to “eight”. "...Few, that is, eight..." is a comparison.

Earlier, when Jesus was still on earth with Peter, Jesus said: “But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Matthew 7:14

Is it possible that Peter was clarifying how few are a few since Jesus gives no such specific comparison? It seems, when used together, these 2 verses do give a rather uncomfortable answer, at least for the many…what is your interpretation of a few?

I hope to learn from and appreciate all those of differing opinions and interpretations - thanks.

  • Need help and advice - baking chicken thighs...how long, what temp and so on?

I have 8 rather large chicken thighs in a package and they are frozen - the bag says to cook/bake them frozen @375 for 20 mins - check, another 10 mins and so on til right...

Can't tell if boneless, doesn't say, yet I would guess they were...hummm

My plan was this: I was going to put them all in a big container and cover with BBQ sauce and soak over night and tomorrow bake them - never done this before - want help and advice because I am uncertain and do not want to waste and mess up my meats...

Also - I have one of those elevated (1in) grill over a pan thing about 12x15 in size and can easily put 4 on and do twice - no way all 8 fit unless they're piled on - i can do that but not sure it's good idea.

Each issue was important please advice on all or as many as you know for sure - thanks!

  • NBA fans, who are the top 10 players in the game today?

    I've been away for awhile,

I'm not a player so - no, I was not in jail!

Last year I went to that incredible playoff game between Dallas and Portland where the Blazers came from 23 points down and won in the last minute - very exciting.

So, I am thinking of jumping on the proverbial band wagon and wanted to know who are the top players.

Best answer goes to most creative way to make your case...and thanks, also if you have 11 that's OK too!

  • Can an employer insist you be abused because they want you to fly?

Regarding those who fly to and from for work and have to submit to inappropriate and abusive TSA searches.

    My personal thoughts:

I'm sorry to say but the only way to fight back is for those who fly for business to just say "enough" and refuse to fly...if the employer insist on subjecting its employees to this unreasonable treatment as part of their employment - sue the employer!

The employers have much more money and power...when they finally say "enough" it will have some weight behind it...and when it finally hits the airlines bottom line, they too might say "enough"

You want results - follow the money! But nothing will ever happen as long as those seats remain full!

My question then is about whether my idea is possible, can an employer insist and if so can they be legally liable as well?

  • Does a person feel pain when their throat is cut deadly deep from ear to ear?

With a animal that is to be eaten, the throat is cut as a way of painlessly killing them. In Acts 15:29 it is said to not eat the meat of a strangled animal - the alternative being to cut the throat.

Do you think or know if this is the same with humans? As gruesome as it is could it be painless?

I do know that being beheaded by guillotine is painless, as in "instant death"
