i have a video on a CD, it's not damaged and i can play it fine, i want to download the video from the CD onto my laptop without erasing it off the original cd, how can i do this?

my neighbors' cat and my cat have never liked each other, ever since I got my cat (he was a kitten but is 1 year old now) I've always found him crying and cornered by my neighbors' cat. The "bully cat" has really given my cat a beating, and cost me over $300 in vet bills. Today I took my cat to the vet for a huge abscess and when we got back I was really fed up so I went and i confronted my neighbors. I showed them pictures of all the wounds and asked for them to watch their cat or at least not let him out as much. She said there was nothing she could do as she has a second cat (that is really friendly and not a nuisance like the other one) who also likes to go outside, and they use the same cat door.

I know that there are legal steps I can take but I don't think it's a good idea to make an enemy out of my neighbor as I plan on living here for at least another 8 years. What should I do?

This is long but bear with me here.

For the past 4 months I've constantly been getting phone calls from random numbers. At first I tried to ignore them and not pick up, but as they called more and more often I picked up. Out of the dozens of times they called me I picked up 5 times. 2 out of those 5 times they hung up immediately.

This is where it gets creepy.

The other 3 times, they asked to speak to "Caitlin", a good friend of mine, going as far as to give her last name. Caitlin hasn't been getting these calls and hasn't given my phone number to anyone, and I haven't given her name to anyone. In fact the only time me and Caitlin can be seen together is when we walk home after school, we haven't spent time together in public at all. One of the three times they asked for Caitlin, she was with me and I handed the phone to her. She said it sounded like it was a busy room and she couldn't understand what the woman was saying because of her accent.

The calls always come from different areas, several from CA but a few scarily close to where I live.

Recently, when I get these calls they hang up before I can answer, and when I call back they're telemarketers.

Though I still get calls I brush them off as telemarketers and don't pick up anymore. But I don't know if what happened a few weeks ago is something I should be taking more seriously?

my cat is male, 1 year old, and /very/ energetic. He's actually a lot more calm around dogs than cats but I'm not sure if the Shiba will be too bold for him..

Ever since I got my kitten i've let him go outside for 3-4 hours a day. he seems to like it outdoors and i like that he's not peeing on or tearing up my furniture. I've considered all the risks of allowing him to go outdoors, like cars or other animals, and i've made sure he was friendly with all the neighborhood pets and cut down his outdoor time to a maximum of 4 hours. (He's almost a year old now.)

But a few days ago i called him to come inside and he didn't come as usual, so i got up to bring him in myself. but when i tried to pick him up the hairs on his back were raised and he was hissing at me as if he was about to attack me.

I'm afraid that he'll run away or that he'll begin to act more feral towards me.

what do I do?

I'm about to get a 55 gallon tank. I have one 5" goldfish, and I was thinking of adding one or two other big fish in the tank with him (maybe 6 schooling fish too). But I know goldfish are territorial...

Everything I've always loved to do, she's always better than me. And we enter art competitions and things like that together and she always outshines me. When I ask her how she got so good at art she just says "I've been practicing my whole life" ...ok...So have I...

I love her but whenever I'm around her I feel like I'm never good enough.
