  • Which takes more faith?

Does being a Theist take more faith than being an Atheist or the other way around? I always thought that Theists had to have more faith, but I noticed Atheists that have such strong belief in evolution.

So I would like to get everyone's opinion on this. Thanks.

  • Interesting dream about...?

Interpretation needed. I'm pretty much open to anything.

Ok. So I had a weird dream last night. I was driving a car down a road (I don't remember much about the car except that it wasn't mine and it was really big). The road was sort of hilly and alongside of the road was a run down, white house. Anyways, I was driving down this road and there was a pretty sharp curve ahead. When I came around the corner the road abruptly ended and where the road ended there was an empty void. There was also a sign that said "It's the end of the world as we know it". Yeah. It didn't really mean much this morning but now that I look back at it it's a little disturbing.

Ha. I think I'm reading too much into this, but it interested me.

  • Riddle: How well do you know your physics?

A riddle my professor told us in Physics back in college:

Cindy, a High School cheerleader, told the other cheerleaders that she was worried about changing for practice in their locker room. It seems that she over heard the science teacher, Dr. Smith, telling the Principal that he had just invented an invisibility potion which would turn whoever drinks a sip of the potion completely invisible for 24 hours. The bad news was that someone had stolen a bottle of it from Dr. Smith's lab. Cindy was worried that the thief was a guy and that he might already be invisible, hiding in their locker room and waiting to watch them undress. Jane, the Head Cheerleader and President of the Science Club, believed Cindy. She knew Dr. Smith was working on the potion, but told her they had nothing to worry about. Jane did not steal the potion or know who had stolen the potion. How could she be so sure their privacy would not be compromised?

  • Riddle based on a true story?

A complaint was received by the president of a major car company:

"This is the fourth time I have written you, and I don't blame you for not answering me because I must sound crazy, but it is a

fact that we have a tradition in our family of having ice cream for dessert after dinner each night. Every night after we've eaten, the family votes on which flavor of ice cream we should have and I drive down to the store to get it. I recently purchased a new Pantsmobile from your company and since then my trips to the store have created a problem. You see, every time I buy vanilla ice cream my car won't

start. If I get any other kind of ice cream the car starts just fine. I want you to know I'm serious about this question, no matter

how silly it sounds: 'What is there about a Pantsmobile that makes it not start when I get vanilla ice cream, and easy to start whenever I get any other kind?'"

The Pantsmobile company President was understandably skeptical about the letter, but he sent an engineer to check it out anyway. He had arranged to meet the man just after dinner time, so the two hopped into the car and drove to the grocery store. The man bought vanilla ice cream that night and, sure enough, after they came back to the car it wouldn't start for several minutes.

The engineer returned for three more nights. The first night, the man got chocolate. The car started right away. The second night, he got strawberry and again the car started right up. The third night he bought vanilla and the car failed to start.

There was a logical reason why the man's car wouldn't start when he bought vanilla ice cream. What was it?

And what characteristics do you look for in a guy?

    Thanks for the help ladies,

  • Riddle: What kind of poem am I? Math and poetry question?

    (12 + 144 + 20 + (3 x (4^.5)))/7 + 5 x 11 = (9 ^2) + 0

Tell me the type of poem this is. Also, use the problem to find the words of the poem. This would involve looking at the equation and using math knowledge.

    Ex:

    1+2=3-1x2=T

To write this in words, you would say.

    One plus two equals three

Minus one times two equals "T"

This is how to solve this riddle.

Hint: some numbers may stand for units of measure

(like 12 may stand for a foot, or 12 inches, not necessarily the number

    Another hint:

The carat symbol (^) means raised to the power of, and a number raised to the power of one half is its square root.

  • What Am I?

Sir, I bear a rhyme excelling,

Those of sonnet, dirge, or hymn,

Strange in sound and awkward spelling,

    Unrelenting, uncompelling,

Subdued in tone, but never grim.

    What am I?
