  • Is it bad to take psychiatric medicines your whole life?

I've been on psych meds for depression, anxiety, and mood disorders since I was 13. Every time I try to get off them or taper off, things get bad really quick and sometimes I end up in the hospital. But part of me wonders if that is just the side effects making me crazy. I don't even remember what it was like before I started taking my meds. I thought they were supposed to be temporary but it looks like my psychiatrist thinks I might need them for life. Won't that screw up my brain even more?

  • What is the best thing to do for my cat when I go on vacation?

I am leaving the country for 3 weeks. My 6 month old kitten is very affectionate and loves attention, but also loves to be in his familiar surroundings.

My two options are to have the cat live at a friend's house where he would get attention, or I could have someone come in and feed him, and pet him for a few minutes everyday, so that he can have his familiar environment.

  • Is my facebook account in danger of being deactivated?

I just tried to log in and got a message from facebook saying that I had added people I don't know and I am unable to add friends for a week, despite the fact that I have never added someone I didn't know in real life. I have no idea how this happened. If facebook somehow decides that I added someone I don't know in the future, will my account be deactivated? Should I just stop adding friends in the future to be safe?

  • Help! Is this an emergency? Should I take my kitten to the vet?

I adopted an 8 week old kitten 2 days ago from the SPCA. When I adopted him, he had symptoms of a cold and they gave .3 doxycycline to administer every morning. The symptoms have gotten worse. He is sneezing constantly, congested, and there is discharge coming from his eyes and nose. Should I continue this treatment or take him to another vet? It's only been 2 days since he has started his treatment but he's such a mess, I don't know what to do

  • Do I have to tolerate disrespect from customers?

I work at a crappy pizza place and some of the customers are really disrespectful to me. I used to think I should always reply with "sir and ma'am" and a smile on my face even when they treat me like crap, but now I started standing up for myself and having some self respect by talking back to them. I don't curse or anything, but I definitely put them in their place. My boss knows i am nice 99% of the time so he doesn't care. What is the best way to deal with nasty customers and not tolerate their disrespect, without being unprofessional?

  • Do I have to keep reminding a blind person who I am?

Today I introduced myself to a blind person in my class who walked by me on the street. I had a question about our homework. He is very nice and I would like to get to know him, and sit next to him in class, but I was wondering if I have to tell him who I am when I see him again or will he remember my voice? I don't want to be patronizing but I don't want him to be wondering who the hell I am. Any tips?

  • Why am I dizzy, light headed, and have blurred vision on my third day of being vegan?

I have been eating lots of fruit and veggies and whole wheat products and drinking water. I used to be a straight up carnivore. Is this normal? What should I do to ease the symptoms? How long will this last? Thank you

  • Why doesn't Obama cry for the children he kills everyday in the middle east?

Today's shooting was a horrible tragedy. But when I saw Obama wiping tears from his eyes, it got me thinking. Why doesn't he cry for the children victims of his drone strikes and military attacks in Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc... Does he think that those children feel less pain than we do? Does he think that the families miss those children less than we do? Please explain

  • How to deal with crazy addict grandmother on Christmas?

My grandmother is a gambling addict. She has gambled away the family home, and continues to gamble. She takes literally no responsibility and every time we bring it up blames her gambling on the fact that our grandfather cheated on her 40 years ago. She is constantly playing the victim and having tantrums when we have our dreaded family get togethers, and its a horrible example for my 12 year old nephew. She recently ditched him when she was supposed to be spending time with him to go gamble and she called from the casino (caller ID proves it) to say how sick she is and how she can't come. Everyone is mad at her and nobody wants to be subjected to her nastiness or craziness for Christmas. We were thinking of having Christmas without her but that seems mean. Any suggestions? I want my nephew to have a nice Christmas and I don't know if it will be possible with her around

  • Is lifting weights good for obese people or should I stick to cardio?

I am 5'8 and 233 pounds and I'm ready to change my life and get healthy. I just started doing 30 minutes of cardio a week. I was going to lift weights also, but my friend, who lost a lot of weight said that it will just bulk me up more and to wait until I get down to 200 lbs to start doing weight training. She said I said I should focus on cardio only until I get down to 200 lbs. Is this true? Any comments?

  • When buying something online, will my bank block my purchase if I have insufficient funds?

I need to buy something online and I can't figure out what my balance is. I am pretty sure I can afford it but I don't want to overdraft my account. If I try to buy something with money I don't have, will the purchase be automatically blocked from happening when I try to put my debit card through?

  • Liberals, please answer this respectful question from a socialist?

How do you justify the fact that Obama is as much as a war mongerer as Bush? I don't understand. The first thing he did was bomb Africa. He has bombed more countries than Bush. He attacks innocent people with drones every single day. He supports torture. He pushed through legislation to indefinitely detain Americans without a trial. I respectfully ask for your comments regarding this matter, I honestly don't understand. Where did all the liberal antiwar activists go?
