  • Is it illegal to live in an unoccupied home, even if it was mine?

    Here is the situation:

My family is currently selling our house (House A), it is on the market right now.

We have officially closed on a new house (House B) but because it was a model home, they must first renovate it and we cannot move in yet. We will be able to move in in about a month or so.

Once we move into House B, if our current House A has not sold yet, would it be considered "squatting" if I were to stay in it? So my parents would be in the new house B, while I stay in house A. (It would just be for a few weeks until I move into my own place.)

The reason why I want to stay in our current house, is because new House B is fairly far away from my work place, and I do not want to commute for over an hour every day. I will be moving into my own apartment soon anyway.

Would that be illegal in any way? Technically House A is still ours right if it hasn't sold, so I would not get in any trouble for staying in it?

  • Should you ever tell a college they are not your first choice?

On one of my college applications, there is a section where they ask you to list your top 3 college choices, and include where they are on your list.

This is my back-up college, and they are obviously not my first choice. Obviously I won't tell them "Oh you're just a back-up in case I don't get into my dream college) but at the same time, I wouldn't want to lie and say they are my first choice.

My question is, do you think it is a big deal if you indicate to a college they are not your first choice?

  • How can I make an outfit more formal & interview appropriate?

I have a college interview this weekend.

I was planning to wear just a nice white dress and some (not so tall) wedges.

But, it looks a bit casual to be honest...

How can I make it look more formal and business-like?

WITHOUT using a blazer, please. It's 100 degrees where I live and I don't want to be sweating through my interview.

I tried wearing a light cardigan with it, but that just makes me look like I'm going to a church service...

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thank you!

  • Do you believe the federal government should use the tax laws to equalize income?

"Do you believe the federal government should use the tax laws to equalize income?"

This is a discussion question for one of my classes.

I'm not particularly looking for an answer, I can form my own opinion of things.

What I need help with is actually understanding what the question means...

I'd really appreciate it if someone could put it in simpler words, or maybe give me an example of what it means?

Then I can form my own opinion and provide my own answer.

    Thank you!

  • What is the chemical formula for Petroleum Coke?

Please don't tell me there isn't one, I've already asked my teacher (this is a question on our research project) and she told me there is and I need to look harder for it, but I've been researching for over 2 hours now and haven't found it.

If there are multiple, I need the "average" or most common.

    Any help please?

  • How to stop binge eating/eating too much?

I am an extreme binge eater.

Whenever I start eating, I just can't seem to stop.

Does anyone have any advice, is there any medication I can take (I am legitimately diagnosed with Binge Eating Disorder, I'm not just looking for an "easy way out pill")

Let me clarify a bit, what I'm talking about is not as much a "I eat when I'm bored, and to solve this, I should just distract myself until cravings go away or etc."

I've already been able to control myself from eating mindlessly/when not necessary.

HOWEVER, I still have to eat. And my problem is, when I start, it's really hard to stop.

Even when I'm full, I still want to eat more. Yes, I recognize I am full, but for some reason I still want to eat. There have been several times where I am actually painfully full from binging, but yet I still want more food!

Once I finally pull myself away from food I am fine.

Honestly, I'm even afraid to have snacks because I know once I eat that snack I'll want more.

Right now I'm kind of sticking to the minimum number of meals a day to prevent eating too much.

I really don't know what to do. Does anyone have any advice to stop themselves from binging too much? Or have any recommendations on medicine or anything else?

    Thank you.

-And just a note, I'm actually pretty healthy for the most part. I exercise a lot, and most of the time I eat very healthy. However, my parents who I live with are extremely UNHEALTHY, and whenever I'm on a binge, I'll reach for their unhealthy foods. That's when the problem begins...

  • How come some events make it into history books, while others don't?

Some tragic events will be memorialized for a few years or so, then will be forgotten.

Yet others will be put into textbooks and are remembered for years.

I know that obviously some things are more tragic than others and have a bigger effect on the world (Like the Holocaust as opposed to a school shooting) but I've come across events that are much bigger and much more tragic than events that are more famous than them.

Why do you think this is?

And, this isn't like a rhetorical question or anything, although it kind of sounds like it...I have to write an essay on it and I'm looking for more ideas.

    Thanks!

  • Things to write on for a gift?

You know how some people draw on/write on shoes and give them as gifts?

I want to do that for a friend, but with another item...this is for one of my younger friends who is entering high school.

I was going to personalize a backpack for her, but someone else already got her a backpack and I didn't want to get her another one...

I don't want to do it on a tshirt, either..

So far I'm thinking I'll do it on a scarf or a bandana, or some sunglasses, but I'm looking for more ideas, does anyone have any?

  • Question about (Texas) Child Labor/Working Laws?

According to child labor laws in Texas, anyone 15 years old can only work 48 hours a week.

If I have 2 jobs, can I work like 30 hours a week in one and 30 hours in another? (Just an example) I would still be working under 48 hours in both jobs, just not added together...

Also, can I have 2 jobs period? Or can I only have 1?

I've asked the city working office, but they haven't responded yet..could you guys help me?

    Thank you!

  • Who do you ask for a job application?

If it's just for like a fastfood place, or Target or Hobby Lobby, somewhere a teenager could work.

Should I ask a cashier if I can see the manager and then ask for an application?

Or should I just ask the cashier him/herself?

  • Is it bad to do only 1 or 2 types of cardio?

When I'm working out in the gym, the only cardio I like to do is running on the treadmill. I dunno why, I just don't feel like I sweat enough or work hard enough on the elliptical or stationary bike or anything else.

But I know muscles can build resistance, so is it bad to only do the treadmill?

(I'm on the swim team so I swim a whole lot, I bike to practice so there's some more cardio, and sometimes I dance.haha. So running's not my only cardio, I just don't like any other of the machines at the gym..)

  • How to stretch/warmup your calf muscles?

In the beginning of my runs especially, my left calf always hurts a lot! It feels like it almost always has a knot in it, but it doesn't bother me too much until I run or jump. It hurts the most doing jumping jacks or any other kind of jumping motion. :/

It's the only place that I get a cramp/knot in.

Before working out, I always stretch it by doing this stretch:

    http://www.topendsports.com/medicine/stretches/cal...

or by walking for like 3-5 minutes, because that's how most people tell me to warmup.

But I still always feel that knot! Usually I run through it and after 15 or so minutes it doesn't bother me as bad but I'd like to start out without it.

    Any tips?

  • What to eat (specifically) after a workout?

After a workout (Both weights and cardio), what should I be eating specifically?

Obviously I know you're supposed to eat protein, but something specifically? Because I can't find something that I'd particularly like to eat.

I don't like eating meat, so lately after a workout I'll eat a banana with some peanut butter.haha(:

And also, the other day I found a drink called Gatorade Recover. Usually I don't like gatorade because I think it's all sugar, doesn't help, and water is better, but when I was looking at the nutrition facts, it wasn't half bad. (Especially compared to a lot of other protein drinks.) I drank some of it and I must admit, it doesn't taste like just like their other sugary drinks.

Does anyone know if this drink is good or not?

    Thank you!!(:

  • Is this J.Reynolds guitar any good?

    http://www.amazon.com/REYNOLDS-39-ACOUSTIC-GUITAR-...

    http://www.theguitarfiles.com/product_id-600.html

    Is this guitar any good?

I'm honestly not looking for a fancy guitar.

I don't mean to sound cheap, but I'm not going to spend over $175 for a guitar. I'm not a too active player, I don't take my guitar everywhere, I just like to play it at home in my free time like twice a week, so I don't need a super fancy one.

I do however would like one that is decent enough to where it sounds good and won't break.

Is this any good, and if not, does anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking for a 38 or 39inch guitar/concert size because my hands are on the small side.

    Thanks(:

  • Why isn't my 3g working? (Virgin Mobile, LG Optimus V)?

I have an LG Optimus V, which is pretty much like a Droid.

    I have Virgin Mobile carrier.

I got my phone almost a month ago, my 3g has always been working perfectly fine, as well as my dad's. There was nothing wrong with it.

But like a week ago, my 3g just stopped working. I have no idea what happened at all. The same thing happened to my dad's phone, only his 3g started working again like 2 days ago. He said he did nothing, it just came back.

But it still hasn't been working on my phone...what's wrong?

  • What object could symbolize a "mad scientist"?

It's for a project we're doing, and you must come up with objects that symbolize things, such as the protagonist, setting, conflict, etc. My antagonist is a Mad Scientist, but I can't think of anything to symbolize for it?

I was considering something like a superhero's arch enemy, but I already have something like that...any ideas? This can be anything. Thanks.(:

    Any ideas?

Links, Pictures, Anything at all will be appreciated(:

Think that, only about 2.5 inches longer and straighter. Also, it's gotten lighter over the summer and because of excessive amounts of chlorine.

An idea of my face shape:
