  • Do I need a new starter or flywheel?

When I go to start my car it turns over fine but it almost always makes that grinding sound like I over turned it, just for a split second. It usually happens right after I try to start it. It still starts though. Is my starter or flywheel starting to go bad.

  • Why does my central air unit gurgle?

I live in a 3 story unit, all are separate apartments. The a/c guys recently came in and rerouted the pipes and now it gurgles when the other 2 apartment a/c units run. I'm a renter, and the landlord cant get the a/c guys to fix their mistake. Can someone tell me what is causing this and is there something the regular maintenance guys can fix? Thanks!

  • What causes a/c coil to freeze?

Its a central air system. It does blow cold but it barely blows, it seems to take a long time to cool our place when we get the afternoon sun shining in the windows. The freezing starts at the bottom of the coil and works its way up. The unit is about 20 years old. The air filter is changed monthly and the air intake is not blocked. I'm wondering if the blower fan could be caked with dust?

  • What are some other options like legal aid?

My sisters ex is suing her for full custody of their 2 kids. His family has lots of money and a twisted lawyer. She simply doesnt have thousands to hire her own lawyer. She has called legal aid and they have too many "more important" cases, so they are unable help. I think she's also tried pro bono lawyers with no luck. Is there anything else she can do? There is no severe neglect or abuse claimed, its all petty and/or untrue, isnt it more likely it will be thrown out immediately? What does it take to obtain full custody? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Isnt the wireless light on the router suppose to be off when not in use?

We have 2 laptops and they are both disconnected and the wireless light is on. Does this mean a neighbor could be using our connection? The weird thing is, I know how to disable it, so I did and when I enabled it again it instantly came on...and I enabled security.

  • Has anyone actually read the missing books of the bible?

I have a question and I would love if EVERYONE reading this would comment. Theres no right or wrong, just opinion. Isnt it so that not all books were included in the bible and if so who got to decide? and wouldnt that mean that we are being led to believe MANS version of the truth? and not the "whole" truth? Has anyone actually read those books to know what it is "they" think we dont need to know?

  • Can a modem slow the internet down?

My internet has been slow. I just reinstalled windows thinking that would fix it for sure, but it didnt. Its not an old computer, it was plenty fast a month ago. • I cant reinstall windows xp, it wont install the files, help?

When it gets to the stage of copying the Windows files to the installation directory it has trouble copying files. I get the message "boot from atapi cdrom: no emulation" when I boot from my dvd drive but it does go thru when I press any key like it says. then it gets to windows setup and it always stops there, it wont load the files. and its always the same spot. a year ago I installed this Windows XP disk successfully on the very same machine, so its not a compatibility issue. and I just used the disk on my laptop and it was fine. I was trying to get into setup using the common f keys, esc etc to boot from my cd drive instead, but I cant get in. any ideas?

  • How does someone with a drug felony make it in this world?

My nephews dad was convicted of possession (I assume pot) 5 years ago and cant find a job now because of it. Hes in his 40s and currently living with his father who basically tells him he's worthless. I've never been in that boat and he's the only one I know that is, so I'm clueless. Anyone have any advice on what he can do or where he can go to help him get a decent job. I dont think his work history is the best but he is good with electronics. Thank you.

  • why is my home a/c still running when it turns off?

My a/c runs fine but when it kicks off sometimes I notice there is noise, like part of it is still running. sometimes there is frost built up on some parts. I can only stop the noise by turning off the breaker. It seems to go for a very long time, ie more than 30 mins. but it will kick back on and blow cold air. is it normal to run for a long time after the fan stops? any info would be helpful on why its making this noise.

  • Can I have an electric tankless water heater in an apartment rental?

I am clueless about tankless water heaters other than I like the idea of it. My apartment has an old electric water heater. I'd like to get a tankless but I dont want it permanantly installed. Is there a way to just disconnect the old one and have this one installed so it can be reversed if I move out? and can the average joe install one or is it pretty complicated if one is good at following directions?

  • What kind of sheet should I buy for my sweating son?

Our dog sleeps with our son and sometimes pee's in his bed so I have to have a watereproof mattress pad on it, which makes him sweat. To make matters worse we live in florida which makes him sweat even more. I know I can turn the air up in the summer but I wanted to see if maybe it would help to get certain kind of sheets like flannel, satin or a higher thread count?

  • I have a question about the thermostat heat anticipator?

I have an electric furnace. If I set the heat anticipator to longer (or a higher #) does that mean it turns the burner off closer to the time the fan turns off? It turns on and not long after the burner turns off and then cool air comes out of the vents. I'd like it to stay on longer or have more heat per cycle. Also, I ordered a programmable that should arrive within a week, is it automatically set or can it be adjusted too? Thanks.

  • Why would toilet still run intermittently?

Its definitely leaking from the tank to the toilet. I replaced the flapper with the one from my 2nd bathroom (which doesnt leak) and cleaned the flapper seat. still leaks. I can hear the water tinkling, barely. when I look down the overflow there is water at the very bottom that is moving. so I'm wondering if the flapper seat is not sealing properly does the water go into the bottome of the overflow tube first and then the toilet, OR does the overflow tube need to be replaced?
