  • Is it reasonable for the serpentine belt to need replacing at 39,000 miles?

I took my van in to have a leak checked out that was leaving a small puddle of green liquid on my garage floor. While looking at the engine compartment the mechanic (?) said my serpentine belt needed to be replaced as it was worn. This has nothing to do with the leak, but I want to keep my van in good shape and make necessary repairs when needed. At the same time I don't want to be taken for a walk down primrose lane, either.

  • What if I park my electric car...?

Suppose that I have an all-electric car. I charge it up and drive it 15 miles to my local airport and park it in their lot for 2 weeks while I go on vacation. How likely is it that the battery will run down before I return?

  • How do YOU define "fiance"?

What is the current definition of "fiance" these days? We keep seeing questions from women who say, "Me and my fiance have been together 13 years, and I wanna know when he is gonna marry me?", or "My fiance and I have been together for 1.5 years and living together for 4 months, but last week he went back with his ex."

Does moving in with someone make one a fiance these days? Or if you are dating exclusively for more than 3 weeks, are you a fiance? Or does it really mean that you are ENGAGED TO BE MARRIED, with a date set, a ring, a church reserved, and invitations in the mail, etc.?

  • Gall Bladder Surgery?

Anyone here have the newish laproscopic gall bladder surgery? How long did it take to recover? I had GB surgery 30+ years ago and it took 2 months to fully recover. Just wondering if the less invasive procedure is easier to recover from. My brother just had it.

  • For the past two months ...?

something has been leaving little piles of what looks like yellow chalk dust, and bits of clay just inside my front door threshold. I cannot see any insects, and cannot determine what is causing this. I usually go in and out through my garage, so the door is rarely used. Anyone with any ideas on what could be causing this? I've never seen anything like it. Today was the worst. I swept up at least two tablespoons of this stuff. Ugh.

  • Why are so many people experimenting?

...with sexual encounters with people of the same sex? Are they really confused about their sexuality, are they doing it because it is the new "cool" thing to do, how do they think this is going to be perceived later on in their lives?

  • How can I stop my dog from chasing my cat?

My dog is 1.5 years old, a Shih-Poo. My cat is 15 years old. The dog chases her every chance she gets, and my poor cat practically has to live under the couch. I'm afraid for my cat as she is so old. The dog gets plenty of attention - maybe too much? Right now she is in her crate. Any suggestions?

  • What would the energy savings be on a 1-storey home?

  • Is it time to change docs?

I have a rather serious chronic condition that requires me to see my doc every few months. I find myself in the embarrasing situation of being very attracted to him. Every time I have an appointment, my blood pressure shoots up about 40 points, and he has remarked that he is concerned about it. I am too embarrassed to tell him that it is only because I find him so attractive. I know how utterly silly I am being and I have no desire to hit on him, but I can't seem to help how I feel when I am around him. I am way too old for this nonsense, and have considered finding another doc. But I don't really want to change doctors because he is brilliant and an excellent doctor who has taken very good care of me for several years now. Also, I am not the sort of person who would act on a simple attraction.

How do I get around the issue with my blood pressure without telling him what's going on?

  • So, did Obama ever pick out the dog for his kids? Or is that another campaign promise broken?

Back in January he had it narrowed down to two types of dogs. That was the last we heard about it. I am sure the MSM wouldn't have missed the opportunity to tell the world about it.

  • Would you be mad if this happened to you?

I sent my son a 1200 minute prepaid phone card because I couldn't afford his collect calls from another state. He called me twice - and then another collect call! I asked him what happened to his phone card, and he said he used up all the minutes. We got into an argument and I hung up on him. He's an adult and I don't think I should have to pay to talk to him every time. Especially when he never asks about me - just gripes about what a lousy life he has.
