  • Am I being a crappy friend and how can I stop?

My best friend has been wanting to meet people (mostly just wants a boyfriend.) I introduced her to my friends and we went dancing. At the dance I met a guy and we started hitting it off talking about cameras (We're both photographers.) Later that night I danced with another guy, really into history and we spent the night talking.

My friend facebook friended every one of my friends that she met that night. (Weird but I was fine with it. I mean she wanted to meet people.) Then she private messaged the guy I stayed up with and pretty much everyone as far as I know. She's suddenly OBSESSED with cameras and history and everything we're into which she had negative interest in before and is now taking part in my posts with these guys as if she loves it. I went on a date with the history guy and the night before she tells me she was talking to him and he told her we were going out. I thought it odd as they didn't talk at the dance. She asked him to take us both for a drive in his car.

I love my friend. I'm just feeling so crappy about this. I feel like she's taking my life and my friends. I realize I'm being stupid and I want her to be happy and have friends.I want to take dance class. She's a dancer too. Is it wrong for me to just take it alone? Am I a POS for even thinking about it? Or is the right thing to invite her. Truthfully I wish we could just both go together. But I don't want her taking over more of my life than she already has.

  • Does staples hire family members?

I want to apply to work at staples where my sister works. I know some companies, like starbucks (at least where I live) won't let family members work at the same stores together. Does anyone work at staples with a family member?

  • How do I fix my curly hair?

My hair is curly, which is fine, but there is short hair around my ears that makes huge curls which stick out. It looks awful and I don't want to cut them off, but might if it will make it look better. Is this something hairdressers do? Please help me.

  • I need to interview an immigrant about the immigration experience?

However, I don't know anyone willing to answer so many questions. Any help would be appreciated. My teacher would prefer that the immigrant made the move when they were older as they will have more insight on the process and remember both countries more. Thank you so much!

  • Demand Equation Help?

I missed something in economics. I feel really stupid. How do I solve a problem like this? I am not giving the real problem as I want to learn to do this myself. I don't understand what to do with the equation.

We are discussing elasticity values along demand curves.

    Q= 10,000 - 11P

The prices are multiples of 5.

Any help would be appreciated. Are there any good websites that will explain the math side of this. I understand the theory behind it, but my math skills are not good. Thanks so much!

  • Is it right to charge your friend money?

My friend writes really bad books and is an artist. He always wants me to purchase his stuff. I'm poor and quite honestly I'm not a big fan of his stuff. Is it right to expect your friends to buy your stuff?

I am an artist too and I don't try to "unload" my work on my friends. Typically in my other friendships, we barter and trade favors, we don't charge each other money. Is this bad form or are people charging their friends these days? What is the best way to decline?

  • My friend is a narcissist, I think? What can I do?

I really like my friend, but he takes very little interest in me. He is a very cool guy, interesting and fun to hang out with. The only issue is that he never asks anything about me and knows very little about me. It's scary how he doesn't even remember the most basic things, like the fact that I am vegan. We ate dinner together and I didn't even take a bite the whole time and he said nothing about it, just kept talking. When he was done, he said "Let's go," and I still had a whole plate in front of me.

Sometimes I want to stop him and ask "Can you even see me!?" It's as if I am just filling a seat next to him and could be anyone. Quite honestly, I feel as though he can't imagine that other people have thoughts, feelings and preferences too. What can I do? We see each other a lot and are in a lot of different groups together. How can I make him see that other people are just as important? He really is nice it's just so frustrating.

  • My friend has problems...?

...but he thinks he is the only one with problems. He doesn't realize that everyone has problems, we just don't complain about them 24/7. He has a good life with few responsibilities but complains about everything like he is suffering far more than anyone else can imagine, making sure to interject "if only you knew the half of it!" I know the whole of it, we are best friends.

  • Why do my parents refuse to acknowledge my skills?

My parents keep telling me that I can't cook, clean, dance, draw, write ect. although I have excelled at these things in the real world. I know I am not the best at any of these things but I do have significant abilities in these areas.

I offered to cook something today and they told me to buy it instead because I can't cook. I am in college and my professors want to know why I have such little confidence in myself.

  • How to Help an Egotistical Friend?

I have a friend who is constantly talking about himself and his writing and drawings. He has been very sick for most of his life so seems to feel like showing his works are a way to show he is valuable to the world. He is frequently immobilized. However, it never stops. I know he is valuable. He doesn't have to "sell" himself to me. How can I let me friend know that enough is enough and that I know he is valuable but wish that he would recognize me and my works as valuable as his?

His sickness is unique and he has a huge sense of being "more special" than everyone else. His art and writing is good but not excessively so.

  • How can I make Ketchup?

I am from the U.S., when I visited Ireland, there was the most delicious tomato ketchup served with breakfast. It was at every place we went to. I'm thinking Heinz probably made it, but it was much more vinegary than the stuff we can buy here. Does anyone from Ireland have a recipe to something similar? Most recipes online are like the kind we have here. Thanks so much! I've been craving it so!

  • Professors? I'm supposed to e-mail a professor and Ask to be over enrolled?

My adviser told me to e-mail a professor and ask them to over enroll me. I understand the concept, I just don't understand how to ask someone I don't know to do that. What do I say in the e-mail? I really truly do have an interest in the subject, it is a part of my major.( I don't know if it is the economy but I feel like I have to fight for every class.) What is the best way to e-mail the professor about over enrolling me? Any advise would be appreciated. (And no, I didn't wait for the last minute. I saw an adviser early and later he sent me an e-mail, stating that some things he suggested were incorrect and that I needed to correct them--by that time everything was full.)
