  • Riddles for Clue?

I am giving someone the board game Clue for Christmas. I'm going to give this person the gift 8 days before Christmas and I want to come up with some riddles containing parts of the game leading up to Christmas day. For example, use peacock in a riddle and use the hall in another. I need to come up with 8-9 that don't completely give away the game. Can anyone help me out? Sorry if this is really confusing :)

  • Good laptop for a college student?

I'm headed off to college in the fall and my school requires a laptop. I could really use some help and guidance because I don't know what I'm even looking for. I do know I don't want a netbook and I do want a keypad (like on a normal keyboard) and a CD/DVD drive. I also like touch screen, but that's not a deciding factor to me. I don't really have a set budget, but I do want a good computer that's going to last a while. My parents would prefer to spend less than $600 or $700. I'm sorry if this sounds demanding, but I have no clue where to start. :) Below are the requirements:

    *Windows Hardware Requirements

    Type: Laptop

CPU: Intel Dual Core 2.0GHz processor or AMD equivalent (minimum Intel 1.6GHz or AMD equivalent)

Memory: 1GB for Windows XP (minimum 512MB) or 2GB for Windows Vista or Windows 7 (minimum 1GB)

Network: 10/100 or Gigabit Ethernet connection

    Hard Disk: 120GB (minimum 60GB)

    Optical Devices: DVD/CD-RW combo drive

Portable Storage: A USB flash drive is helpful

Wireless: Integrated, USB, or PCMCIA 802.11g compatible wireless card

Warranty: Some form of extended warranty program with on-site, next business day repair is recommended

Networking cable: 14-foot or longer Cat-6 Ethernet network cable (network cables are sold in the Campus Store)

    *Windows Software Requirements

Operating System: Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7

Office Suite: Microsoft Office 2007 is required.

  • Can someone please help me with my essay?

I wrote this essay for my college comp class and I got an 8.9 on it, so I would like to rewrite it. Call me conceited, but I think this is pretty good. Can someone please help me figure out some things I could add in here, or things I could rewrite? Please remember: this essay is for a college class. Standard high school essays don't cut it.

    Focus, Focus, Focus

Whether we like it or not, homework has virtually taken over teens’ lives. Although it’s so important, many teens don’t complete it to their full potential simply because they can’t stay focused. Staying focused is the real problem and it’s not something they teach in school; students have to learn it on their own. They could be doing a whole lot better in school if only they could stay focused.

The most important thing that young people need to do is put the technology down! Turn the T.V. off, turn the computer off, and turn the cell phone off; not just on silent or vibrate, but completely off. If it’s still too tempting, put it in a drawer, or put it in a different room. The urge to check social media sites is going to be strong, but fight through it. Don’t give in. By eliminating the technology trap, we allow our minds to slow down and focus on only the matter at hand. Much more will be accomplished by excluding distracting technology from daily homework sessions.

Homework shouldn’t be worked on just anywhere. Each student should pick a specific spot that’s dedicated to doing homework. Pick somewhere that’s free of commotion. The living room floor, the dining room table, or the kitchen counter are usually not the best places to focus. Those places are the gathering center for many families. There are going to be way too many distractions that take the focus off homework. Another lousy spot to do homework is in bed; both lying down and sitting are going to decrease productivity. It’s preset in our minds that our bed is a place to sleep. It’s where we go to relax and wind down for the day. If homework is done in bed, the natural tendency is for our brains to slow down. Although it may be comfortable, doing homework in bed is only going to promote fatigue, not concentration. No award winning book will be written in bed, or in a distracting area for that matter.

The best place to do homework is in a secluded room, like a bedroom, on a desk. Keep the desk clean and clutter free. By eliminating clutter off the desk, the main focus can be on the matter at hand. Anything, no matter how small, can really cause a distraction. Only let the necessities remain on the surface. Take an extra minute to clean off the desk, even if that means putting in all in a box to deal with later, get it clean! Reserve the desk only for homework. Don’t use it do watch movies or browse the internet. If we do homework in the same place we do other enjoyable things, our minds will think that we’re sitting down to play, not work. We want our minds to focus on homework, not entertainment.

One of the best ways to keep focused to allow frequent breaks and set goals. It’s extremely difficult to stay focused on one thing for hours upon hours. Taking a break from anything, not just homework, gives our mind a break. It relieves frustration and clears our head. We sit down more confident and ready to crank out the work. Setting goals ties into taking breaks. Breaks are a great reward. After completing so many problems, or writing so many paragraphs of an essay, take break. Or, allow 5 minutes of technology time. Just don’t get too wrapped up in the rewards. Doing so will cause the mind to lose focus. Keep rewards minimal and breaks short to ensure that homework is completed to the full potential.

Sitting down and staying focused is very hard to do. We live in a world where distractions are breathing down our necks. But, we can’t give in. We need to put the technology down and seclude ourselves from the commotion of everyday life. By following these simple techniques, focusing on homework will become second nature.

  • Should I bring this to college?

I'm going to be leaving for college in about 10 months. Should I bring my highschool powderpuff football t-shirts with. I really like both and neither one has my high school name. Like I said, I do like them but I feel like college is a new step in my life and bringing high school shirts is just lame. Could somebody please give me some insight? :)

  • What type of bra should I wear to a chiropractor appt?

I'm stuck. I have a chiro appt tomorrow and I'm unsure what type of bra is the best to wear. I really don't feel like wearing a real bra, but is it easier for the massage therapist to do her job? Or is a sports bra fine? Also, do you have to take off a sports bra or can you leave it on?

  • Good books for teen girls?

I'm a senior in high school and I'm in need of some good books. I don't like war books, animal books, or sad books. Please do not suggest the Twilight series, Sarah Dessen, or the Harry Potter books. I'm also not into vampires, zombies, and apocalyptic stuff.
