  • Should I Watch The Entire Season of Girls or True Blood?

I finished season 1 of Girls but totally missed the second season. I started True Blood last summer but stopped watching it because I got too busy. Should I watch the entire second season of Girls, watch True Blood from where I thought I left off, or start the whole series of True Blood again? I only have time to watch one show before I go to college.

  • Would it be legal for CEO's from competing companies to marry each other?

I'm writing a screenplay and two CEO's for competing companies fall in love with each other and I want them to marry each other. I know that it would obviously be legal for them to marry each other but would one of them have to step down from their company because of anti-trust laws? (i don't know if I just referenced the right law) Like would the FTC just assume because they're married they would share secrets about their companies and not try to compete against each other as much as they would if they weren't married and share company secrets.

TL;DR Could the CEOs of competing companies marry and remain the head of their companies?

  • Why do americans hate the lower and upper class?

Judging from the yahoo answers board, no one in America can win but the middle class. If someone's legitimately destitute (not a welfare queen) everyone on these boards starts complaining about how their tax dollars shouldn't be spent to help someone less fortunate. Common statements are "just get a job at McDonald's" or "I work hard for my money why can't they do as well?" I feel like people don't understand that some people fall on hard times and welfare is necessary for them.

The upper class is also subject to criticism by people on these boards. People always complain about how the upper class should pay more taxes to help them (middle class), which I find highly hypocritical because they refuse to pay taxes for lower income citizens. I've also noticed that when there's an article on yahoo news about someone famous buying something expensive (new clothes, luxury car, mansion, etc.) everyone in the yahoo comment section seems to jump on them and attack them for not donating the money to charity, uses it as a platform to talk about how hard their life is compared to these more affluent people, and how they survive without what this rich person has (like anyone cares). People literally use the comment section to attack more successful people. And I'm not talking about articles with people like the Kardashians who didn't really work to attain success. Today I saw an article about young entrepreneurs and people were complaining about them too! My thoughts on this is that if you can afford it buy it. Why should someone with wealth refrain from buying things they've worked for just because people don't approve in a comment section? I don't care about what they do it's not affecting me! Opinions?

  • I'm A LOT taller than my prom date! #tallgirlprobs?

So my prom date is at least 4 inches shorter than me (#tallgirlproblems) lol and I have no problem going with him. I think we're gonna look awesome when we step on the red carpet of prom, because lots of models and movie stars date shorter men. (I'm tall and skinny too and he's cute so hopefully we give off that type of vibe haha) I was excited until my friends were like "Isn't he shorter than you?" "How are you going to dance with him?" "Why don't you get a taller guy? (answer: none asked me WAHHH)" "Aren't you going to look weird?" "I might laugh when I see you two together" * le sigh* They're nice friends usually lol

So now I'm stressed! How are we going to take prom pictures? Should we both stand up in the picture where it will be obvious I'm taller than him? Should we do a sitting pose like on a chair? Or one where I like lean back and he supports my weight? How will we slow dance? Should we just not dance? Now I'm self-conscious because I feel that everyone will be judging me now! :( When people found out I had a prom date random people asked who it was because I'm the tallest girl in school. People are probably laughing at me even before prom. I better look fabulous that day! lol

  • My prom's going to stink?

Hi, so I'm the tallest girls in school and I really wanted to go with this guy friend of mine who is also tall and nice. I waited for him to ask me and even dropped hints but he never asked me :( I just learned from one of my guy friends that he was too shy and nervous to ask me and didn't believe I'd go with him! Two days before prom tickets were done being sold, I asked my guy friend if the guy friend I liked had a date (so I could ask him) and he said some girl asked him that day! So I asked my friend to set me up with someone, because he didn't ask me, and now I'm going with a junior guy I barely know. He seems nice though but he's a bit shorter than me.

I just keep beating myself up that I didn't think of asking him myself. I'm sad :( I feel like I'll regret not asking him to prom forever! But I'm also angry at him for not asking me!

Can I still dance with him at prom or will I have to cling to my date? I really like this guy and I can't drop my date because he already paid for his ticket and he's excited to go. I was thinking I could maybe invite him to the beach over the summer? Opinions I'm really disappointed :(

  • Can you help me with my prom date dilemma?

So prom is in like a month and I don't have a date. My friend said she talked to this junior guy and he would be willing to take me to prom. We would be going as friends. I've never even talked to him! I'm also taller than him, but i guess that didn't matter to him idk. Prom tickets go on sale one week from now (this week is vacation) and I don't know what to do! Should I confirm with my friend that he'll go with me? Should I try to get his number and try to talk to him? And idk if i should even try because I'm black and he's white so idk if my dad would like me going with him :/

Should I just go with my friends like I was originally going to do?

  • Can you help me figure out this song?

I was listening to music in my friends car today and really liked this song but I forgot to ask her what it was. It was a rap song and the guy sounded a bit like Mac Miller. I don't remember the lyrics but I remember the word forlorn was repeated in the chorus a lot.

  • Please Help Me Pick A Prom Dress: 3 options!?

    About me:

I'm tall (6'1"), skinny, I have milk chocolate skin, brunette hair, brown eyes, long legs (like seriously they're too long lol), small chest (B cup), and kind of wide shoulders. Which dress do you think will look better on me? I plan on getting them in the color red.

    Dress 1:

    Dress 2:

Dress 3 (in champagne, not red):

  • Will I have to file taxes on my minimum wage job?

I'm 18 and just got my first job a week ago. I work at a department store and the wage is 8.00 an hour because I live in Massachusetts. I go off to college in August so at the most I'll be spending five months at that job. The manager said I probably won't get over 20 hours a week because I'm a temporary worker. Two of my friends have part time jobs too and they said the IRS chased them down to pay taxes. Will I most likely have to file taxes? What amount of money do you have to make to be required to file taxes? I filed out a W-4 and I either think I had 1 or zero exemptions.

Also, can someone explain what a W-4 is? I filed it out when I went to my orientation but I don't know what it does. What is the process of filing taxes? I literally have no idea about taxes, except from when my parents do theirs. Sorry for my ignorance

  • Going To Senior Prom Alone?

My prom is in 2 months and I don't have a date. Today in gym our teacher was asking who we're going to prom with and it seemed like everyone had a date except me :( I'm definitely going to prom because there's only one senior prom but I feel like I'll feel like a loser. Our school provides party buses so I won't have to worry about renting a limo. Two of my friends don't have dates either so we're going to go together. I feel like it would fun to go with them but that other people might think it's weird. I'm most worried about being alone in the pre-prom pictures. I'm one of the tallest girls in my grade so I doubt anyone will ask me (even though I would go with a shorter guy). I know a guy from last year who I talked to in class a bit and I don't think he has a prom date either. Should I ask him? But I kind of don't want to because I feel he'll reject me and I would have a better time with my friends.

  • Why Do People Dislike Well-Off Kids?

I don't understand why people have stereotypes about kids who come from well-off families. My parents are very successful and I'm thankful for all the opportunities they have provided for me. My parents and I are really close and I love them to bits :D

Anywho, I'm in high school and I don't like how people automatically stereotype kids of well-off families as spoiled and rude. I hate when people will be like "omg you're so rich". I don't want to be known as the rich girl in school. I want to be treated like a regular person. I hate when people come to my house and all they can talk about is how big it is and how I have a pool. This kid in my AP Calculus class said to me yesterday "I bet you'll get a Mercedes for your first car because you're rich". I don't want people to think I'm snooty because my parents have money. I try to act down to earth, it's not like I have designer clothes or anything. My mom gave me her credit card and said I could spend $150 dollars on my semi dress, I spent only $40. And it's not my money it's my parent;s! I'm even in the process of applying for a job!

When my dad goes on business trips I borrow his Lexus and drive it to school. Almost everyone I saw in the parking lot that day was like "OMG is that your car?!" and I was like "NO NO NO It's my dad's" I try to distance myself from my parents items. My mom drives a Mercedes so everyone is like, "you're rich because your parents drive luxury cars"

I'm not one of those rich kids who plan on relying on their parents for the rest of their lives. I'm part of National Honor Society, on the high honor roll, have a 4.0 GPA, and play two varsity sports and captain one of them. I've already gotten into college and plan on being successful in my life. I'm planning on majoring in computer science. I see how successful my parents are and I want to be the same way when I get older. My parents inspire me to work harder because I see how great their work ethic is.

Yesterday my parents surprised me with an Audi and I am so excited to have a car because I'm usually used to walking 4 miles a day to get to practice because my parents work long hours. I'm just afraid to drive into the parking lot with my new car because this time it's actually my car (well my parents but you get the idea :D).

I just want people to not look at my parents money and look at me! People seem to hate people who have more than they do. Opinions?

  • Retail Jobs For People Without Experience?

I'm 17 and I am trying to get a job. I applied for Best Buy online but it rejected me because I answered truthfully and said I didn't have any work experience. I think it's unfair that they rejected me because being a cashier isn't that hard of a job to do. I have juggled sports, National Honor Society, and volunteering for years! I feel like other places will reject me too because I have never had any work experience. How do I ever get work experience if I can't get a job to give me work experience? I want a job so I can have more spending money and maybe save a bit of money for college next year.

Any suggestions for places I should apply that don't require work experience? Should I just go to the local strip mall and ask around? Should I try to apply in-store at Best Buy?

  • Best Buy Rejected Me Because I Have No Job Experience?

I was trying to apply for a job at Best Buy earlier today. The application was online and I had to answer questions. I stated that I was 17 and did not have any work experience and the online form rejected me and said "we have no jobs available that match your qualifications". I don't understand why previous work experience would matter for a cashier position. It's not that difficult a job. I'm capable of learning on the go.

Should I go into the store and try to apply from there or try another company?

  • Questions about Mentally Challenged People?

I don't really know or have interacted with mentally challenged people before so I have some questions I hope you all can answer. I'm talking about people that have moderate to severe mental disabilities. Sorry if I sound ignorant, but I'm just wondering

    1) Why do they have problems interacting with people? I know it's because they can't recognize emotions, but is it something else within the brain?

2)Since they can't communicate with "normal" people, can they communicate with each other? Because they have the same communication disabilities

3)What do they teach the kids in the special ed classes? They have a classroom in my school for these kids but I'm unsure what they do.

4)After graduation from high school, do most mentally challenged people live with their parents? Or do they live by themselves and what jobs do they usually do?

5)Do they retain information? I know they can remember basic things like counting and the like. But if I asked them to call someone two days from now would they remember?

Thanks for answering these questions and if any of these questions are offensive to you I do not intend them to be.

  • Are There Tall Guys at College?

I'm a high school senior right now and there's like no tall guys in my school. My school has about 1,200 people so I guess we would be considered a small high school? For reference to how short our school is, the tallest guy on our boys basketball team is like 5'11 :( I head off to college next year and I was just wondering if there's a lot of tall guys in college? I want to go to a big college/university. Will me (as a tall girl) tower over guys forever? I'm 6'1"

  • Awkward Teen Stage... and Tall?

So I was watching some interviews of models and they were all talking about how they were really tall growing up and most described themselves as the "tall, gawky, awkward girl" who was also a "tomboy" and went through an awkward stage in their teen years (sorry for all the quotations)

I have the exact same body type as them in their teen years (I am 17), tall and skinny (I'm not trying to be show-offish or cocky by saying this) I often feel awkward because I'm taller than most people around me and I've been working on it but I'm sometimes awkward and I play sports (tomboyish, I guess?). I feel like I'm exactly how they were growing up and I feel extremely awkward but they all got through the stage and became beautiful adults.

Is there hope for me to get out of this "awkward" teen stage and become more confident and prettier when I get older? I feel like I will feel the way I do forever :( Did you have an awkward teen stage?
