Switching account to a different credit card (chase)?
I've had a Chase Freedom card for close to a year now and have paid it off in full every month. I now have a need for a credit card that has no foreign transaction frees and also has a chip and pin preferably. The chase freedom preferred card is basically what I'm looking at. Does chase allow you to move from one card type into another? I do not want to have two credit cards, nor do I want to have a new credit card application show up on my credit report.
I currently have excellent credit and do not want to take a step back as I continue to build it.
3 AnswersCredit7 years agoMen's Fashion Magazines?
What is a good men's fashion magazine. I have looked into GQ, Esquire, and many more but they're not quite what I'm looking for. While reading about trends, articles on grooming, select products, and tips etc is definitely a plus, the vast majority of these are just that in addition to being littered with advertisements every 3 pages or so. I'm looking for something that has tons of nice full blown pictures side by side that are simply all outfit ideas from a given brand / make what have you. Yes I realize that's what clothing store catalogs do, but I'm looking for a compendium of sorts if you will. The best from all kind of deal.
1 AnswerMagazines9 years agoBeginner drawers bible?
So I am looking to pick up a new hobby/skill. I have always wanted to draw and have settled on that. My artistic ability is virtually non existent however. I am curious if there is one ultimate drawing bible, that everyone starts with (either in school or in a career) which takes you from the fundamental basics up through advanced techniques. I realize its a lot to ask from just one source, but many fields have such golden treasures. Understandably, there isn't just one such book, but many. What are some of the better ones? I would prefer something that explains the concepts themselves as well, not a bunch of diagrams showing "what" to draw, but how to visualize, different drawing techniques, etc.
2 AnswersDrawing & Illustration9 years agoWhy are there no "fitted" french cuff shirts?
I have searched everywhere online, been to a dozen stores and more. I have failed to find a french cuff shirt in a "fitted" style. Oddly enough there are tons of "slim-fit" french cuffs, and standard regular fits but none that come in the fitted. Any particular reason for this or am I just talking nonsense?
(Express 1MX "fitted" shirts probably don't count, as a store that predominantly sells "extra slim" and "extra fitted" dress shirts probably won't fit me in any capacity)

I'm attending a cocktail type formal event and have been locked into a very pale soft golden tie. What color shirt would go best (other than standard white) with a black suit.

I will be starting an internship with a satellite company soon and wanted some background reference material. Namely a book that talks about satellite communications. How satellites communicate with ground stations, their orbits, how they image, things of that nature. It can be a textbook, but it should be easy to understand to a point.
1 AnswerEarth Sciences & Geology9 years agoWhat's so great about the 90's anyway?
Now here's a thought that I have been pondering on.
I was born in the late 80's... make that the last year of the 80's, and therefore spent the vast majority of my childhood in that golden age of the 1990's. You remember it right? Best cartoons, best music, best movies, all that good stuff. I find myself talking about it a lot these days. "Do you remember when cartoons were awesome!?". "Oh man do you remember that one song?". But even more than talking about how great the 90's were, my generation seems more preoccupied with how great this past decade wasn't.
Now this got me to thinking, what's so great about the 90's anyway. Sure our parents look back on their "good old days" and often speak of what was great in their time in the world, but hey, they're riding on 50+ years old at least by now. They get a free ticket to nostalgia land. While I, at the ripe old age of 22 am hardly entitled to the same. I mean this was just 10 years ago we're talking about!
So I have heard it all, from "the 90's had the best music" to "cartoons were so awesome" and even "food was a lot more fun" as reasons given for this tremendous obsession with a decade gone. These are all fine and dandy, and I'll throw myself behind that banner any day but it still doesn't answer the question. Not so much about why the 90's are considered so great but why the 2000's aren't. This past decade is, in my experience conceived through many conversations with my age group, genuinely disliked to large extent. But why?
Not making any assumptions here, but I believe there are some common sense things to consider about the situation. Partially it comes down to how things are remembered. The 90's was in no way perfect, and in fact there was much that was bad about it. Not just in entertainment, but in the world. These are the things people tend to not remember. No one ever remembers the 2nd best song they ever heard in a given year. So in remember only the best, we can put it entirely in a positive light. I think this is one source of the admiration. Secondly, the political climate of the world. Undoubtedly the 90's were America's decade as the global superpower. Perhaps the economic and political climate itself lent a great deal to how the 90's were regarded, adding to the memory of the decade's greatness.
These assumptions don't guess at the future however. Nor do they imply that the reverse is occurring. I would simply argue that we are in a period that is simply less certain for the moment.
Or are all of these points moot and over thought, and it comes down to simply what you're known best when you were a kid? Your opinions internet?

So I just saw the windex prank online and i'd love to pull it on my coworkers. (If you're not aware, you empty a windex bottle and fill it with blue gatorade, afterwhich you proceed to drink it). How much chemical residue does a plastic bottle absorb and what steps should be taken to make sure it is cleaned properly (if possible)?

What version of Hark! The Herald Angels Sing is playing at the end where Tiny Tim is on Scrooge's shoulders (and I guess during the ghost of Christmas present segment as well). I must have gone through 50 choir versions and none are quite the same with the male singer and that very nice finish.

Spam emails to a website featuring viagra pills are being sent out to contacts in my yahoo account. No virus or spyware could be responsible for this as the computer is essentially factory settings, out of box and hardly used. I've virus and internet security scanned it and nothing was found. I've changed my password, and deleted all my contacts assuming whatever it was it drew from my address book. Anyone have any suggestions. Yahoo's help page has absolutely nothing functional for contacting anyone with questions, only preset FAQs that are worthless.
4 AnswersAbuse and Spam1 decade agoLooking for a site that sells specific pendant?
I'm trying to buy a gift as a surprise but I haven't a clue what the website she was browsing was. It sells very small simple or intricate pendants. She has one that looks a little bit like a pearl, but I recall her browsing one called "Queen Bee" and an "acorn" one as well. They ran about $50-60 I think. Not gold or anything (or maybe it was?). It's quite obscure, but on the off chance someone has heard or seen it before?

I just reformatted my pc. Now when i watch youtube videos my expand video button no longer functions correctly. Instead of increasing the size slightly, it stretches the video tot he edges of the browser creating a full screen-esque view (thought not really since the browser's bars are still visible up to). Anyway to fix this to make it function properly. I already cleared my cache and cookies, still no good.
1 AnswerYouTube1 decade agoAntivirus completely out of whack?
I installed ESET NOD 32 antivirus on my machine. Thinking this gave me access to ESET Smart Security as well, i isntalled that. It said that i couldn't use my eset antivirus credentials for smart security so i had to install antivirus again. I started to do that, and the program froze on "uninstalling drivers". Now my computer is completely out of whack. All of my permissions for users are messed up, I can't manually delete the "ESET" folder out of "Program Files". I've done everything from enabling the administrator account on windows 7, to changing ownership of the folder and the likes. I managed to force uninstall the directory and the registry files so that ESET no longer appears in my task icons or on startup. However windows security still claims the following:
Network Firewall: ESET Personal firewall reports that it is currently turned on
Virus Protection: ESET Smart Security 4.2 reports that it is up to date and virus scanning is on (impossible)
Spyware and unwanted software detection : Windows Defender and ESET Smart Security 4.2 both report that they are turned on.
The ESET folder is still there and i still cannot delete it. I want to just remove the stupid thing and all traces of its existence from my machine forever so i can install a different antivirus program.

There's a garfield cartoon I am trying to locate and the only means to do it by is the archive on the official website that requires a date. So i ask, if anyone has by some extremely random and remote chance, and encyclopedic knowledge of garfield cartoons and can locate it for me. It's the one where John and Garfield are enjoying hot dogs, and john asks for a "dab" of mustard.
1 AnswerComics & Animation1 decade agoWilcoxon-Mann-Whitney Test for Two Independent Samples with SPSS?
So basically I have a dataset which has 62 jurisdictions on there. They are all either of one group type or another (marked by a 1 or 2. 1 for private insurance 2 for public). Only 4 of them have a 2 and the rest are a 1. Then they also all have a ranking. I'm supposed to do a Wilcoxon Mann Whitney Test in order to find out if there is a significant difference between the 2 variables using SPSS. I've done everything correctly in SPSS however I don't know how to interpret the results. I'm supposed to make a decision about accepting or rejecting the null hypothesis based on the Z value and present everything using the 6 steps of Hypothesis Testing.
Here are the results
Group Type = 1 , N = 57 , Mean Rank = 29.05 , Sum of Ranks = 1656.0
Group Type = 2 , N = 4 , Mean Rank = 58.75 , Sum of Ranks = 235.0
Total , N = 61
Test Statistics
Mann-Whitney U = 3.00
Wilcoxon W = 1656.0000
Z = -3.234
Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.001
Exact Sig. [2*(1-tailed Sig.)] = .000

For example, Toronto and Vancouver as well as Hamilton are my 3 lowest values (as well as montreal but that's more or less obvious). I'm not sure what to make of it. I watched a video on youtube (go figure) about 2-3 weeks back about how to download any youtube video. All it had you do was add the word "owned" in some capacity to the URL. I cant' remember now how exactly, if you need a hyphen or slash and where, but it takes you to a site that lets you choose to dl as a video in several formats, or mp3, no software, no conversions. Anyone know about it?
4 AnswersYouTube1 decade agoPotato chips flavors, broadening your horizons?
Why is it that people are so apprehensive about trying unique flavors of chips? This thought crossed my mind today as I munched (for the first time) on Pringle's screamin' dill pickle flavored chips as my coworkers proceeded with automated "eww that's gross" 's. Not only did I find the flavor refreshing and tasty, but I couldn't help but think to myself how unique it is in a sea of similarly tasting potato chips flavors. Don't like pickles? Fair enough, but the flavor itself isn't bad tasting or revolting, so why do we not try them? Ketchup flavor, pickle flavor, what have you. I guess by extension any food could apply in the case of unique flavors. Pistachio ice cream anyone? No? Maybe some cow tongue instead :D?
