  • is this normal for an ankle injury?

I was told by my primary care doctor that I have a sprained ankle from over 2 years ago. It won't heal. I can walk on it. But lately it locks while I sleep at night. It really hurts when it locks. Should I wear a brace for a while and see how it goes? Or should I go have it looked at again?

  • What can I do for an injured ankle that won't heal on it's own?

It's been injured for a few years. Had it x-rayed and nothing showed up on it. Doctor said that it was just a sprain. But it still hurts and won't heal on its own. I stay off it, it stays the same pain wise. I walk on it with full body weight on it, it stays the same or hurts more. Should I try bracing it for a while and see if it helps at all? Should I push to have it looked at again? How likely is it that it could be a hairline crack?

  • As an adult now, how would you ask your parents about this?

If you wanted to ask them why they punished you the way they did while you were growing up, what would you say? How would you bring up the subject? How would you thank them for raising you the way they did? How would you word it?

  • What kept you in line more as a kid?

Spanking, groundation, or both? Were you given the option to choose which punishment you were about to get, but got both punishments instead? Just curious as to what people's thoughts are on their childhood punishments.

  • Groundation stories: what have you grounded your child/children for?

Just wandering what some things kids do thay you ground them for these days. do you spank your child and then ground them or do you give them other punishments along with grounding them. Or do you ground them only? What is the longest you've had to ground your child for? Did you ever have to add on extra days because your child didn't want to listen?

  • Since when is 12 too old to spank your own children?

I was spanked past the age of 12 (even though i deserved it more often than what i was actually spanked) & i know of a couple of kids that were also spanked as teens. All of us turned out just fine. Whatever happened to as long as you live with your parents ( under the age of 18), your never to old to spank?

  • How many parents out there spank their kids?

No matter what the law says about spanking children. Do you spank your child/children and for what offenses? How many swats do you give them depending on the seriousness of the crime?

  • Not disciplined enough as a child? parents only please answer.?

Some people think that i wasnt disciplined enough as a child. Should i have gotten spanked more often and/or grounded more often while growing up? If i was your child, what would you have done to discipline me more?

  • How soon should i be seen, if at all?

Short stabbing pain in one ear, deep into the ear, but not constantly. But also mostly hurts behind the ear, but not on the ear, and is going down to the neck area. It was a little itchy in the ear a few days ago. A couple of days ago there was clear white drainage coming out. I try to clean both of my ears out with a qtip and nothing comes out. Also in both of my ears, they try to clog up like there's nothing but water in them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • How do I go about getting treatment for this?

I've had an injured ankle for over a year now. I had x-rays done. I was told that it was a sprain about stablized or so months ago. I kept it wrapped for a while. But that wasn't helping much. So I ended up buying an ankle brace from the store. It's a little more helpful than what the ace bandage was. Neither really made the pain lessen. They just basically help to keep the ankle more stabilized (I think that's the word I'm looking for). But there hasn't been much swelling, and no bruising. The ankle still rolls easily. I've been trying to stay off from it as much as I can, and I elevate it as much as I can. I'm thinking about having it looked at again. But I don't want to sound like I'm being a whimp about it. I'm just sick and tired of waiting for it to heal. I'm sick and tired of trying to take it easy. I'm sick and tired of not being able to do as much as I would like to do because of the sprained ankle.

  • Could this be an ear infection? ?

I sometimes get backed up earwax in my ears. I try to remember to clean them out on a regular basis. But lately when I try to clean out one of my ears with a q-tip, it hurts. It kind of feels like it might be swollen on the inside of the ear. I've had ear infections before. But its been a few years since I last had one and I don't remember what they feel like.

  • Is it normal to feel like this? ?

I feel I wasn't spanked enough as a kid. I still sometimes feel like I've done things that I should've gotten spanked for. Is it bad or wrong to feel like I should go back to my parents, confess the things I did wrong over the years, and ask them to spank me? Or is it just weird that I feel like that? Is it not normal to feel like that?

  • What did spanking ever teach you? do you think you shouldve gotten spanked longer than what you were?

First it taught me fear towards my stepdad. But most of the time I had no clue what I was getting spanked for. In the long run, within the last year or two I realized that it taught me respect and to take responsibility for my own mistakes. It also taught me to stay out of trouble with the law. If I hadn't been spanked, I probably would've started smoking and drinking with my friends in high school. But I'm one of those people that should've been spanked for another two or three years and I would've become an even better and more respectful adult and I would've tried harder in high school to pass my classes.

  • Ankle injury that wont heal? is it worth getting looked at?

Injured for a little over a year. Can walk, run, and jog on it. Scale of 1-10 for pain level is a 2, 3, or 4 most of the time. But if over used enough (I walk almost every where I go), pain level can reach a 6 and sometimes a 7 or 8. Can't seem to pin point the exact spot of where the injury is. But can pin point of where the injury area is. I tripped over somebody's foot. It rolled back and forth a couple of times and then it got knelt on by the person I tripped over. I don't remember if I heard my ankle snap at the time of injury. But tends to pop quite often now. I'm trying to find a full time job. But can't stand or walk on it for 8 hours a day, like I'm supposed to for a full time job. At most, I can walk on it for about up to 3 hours a day. But can only stand on it for about 20-30 mins a day, on a really low pain level day. Should I get it looked at and see what they say? Or should I just wear a brace til it heals?
