is this normal for an ankle injury?
I was told by my primary care doctor that I have a sprained ankle from over 2 years ago. It won't heal. I can walk on it. But lately it locks while I sleep at night. It really hurts when it locks. Should I wear a brace for a while and see how it goes? Or should I go have it looked at again?

see a doctor [preferably an orthopedist specializing in ankle problems]
avoid a brace unless prescribed for you. It can lead to atrophy of muscles, tendons,..
did you get an x-ray? the only way to see if something is broken,
consider a cane [opposite side] it takes 20-30 % load off your ankle.
good luck

I would wear a brace but I would get a second opinion from a Podiatrist
