at this point im getting kind of tired of dystopia, and recently i've started getting into john green and also read the perks of being a wallflower which is possibly one of my favorites now.

i really liked the kind of realism and rawness of it i guess, and how unconventional and honest the characters were.

are there any recommendations for other books i could read along these lines?

or otherwise any books you would recommend in general, as long as they aren't too dystopia based?

if you had to live in one place the rest of your life that couldn't be the continent you currently live in which one would you choose? and why?

i'm 19 and have just done my first year at uni and i am looking into all these amazing travel opportunities and tours - it's all i can think about at the moment. but i feel really anxious and depressed about it because of my family situation at home.

long story short my younger sister has a lot of minor mental disorders, aspergers, anxiety, phobias etc and is out of contact with her friends and not at school at the moment. while she doesn't have any physical difficulties or anything, she's still very reliant on my mum who is absolutely great and very patient with her. my dad however does not really understand her needs and anxieties, and is not the kind of person who likes to talk about feelings and stuff, and is always very distracted with work. no one's fault, just the way things are.

it is one thing being away at university as we skype every week, plus i visit home every 3-4 weeks too. my worry is that i feel that i am my sister's only friend and that between my sister and my dad my mum would have a very hard time without me there, as we are very close.

it's not that my family would ever actively hold me back from doing what i wanted, but because i get really worried about how they would cope without me for that long, and being so far away, i don't feel like i have the freedom to see the world at my own pace and do the things i want to do.

i guess i just wanna know what people make of this.

this is my yr13 prom dress and im trying to work out a colour scheme, like shoes, bag etc to go with it. im trying to be a bit different, i'd really like another bright colour to coordinate with the dress, rather than just basic silver or white..

any recommendations or advice? or links to shoes that you think would go with it. :)

its for my year 13 prom, the dress code is kind of formal but not overly glittery princessy. this probably wont influence my decision, im just interested :)

im doing an Alevel art project based on the natural patterns within objects/still life which can only be seen in close up. and i need artists!

i have already studied georgia o'keeffe of course, but if you could let me know of any other possible artists that i can look at, that would be great :)

p.s. any media artist is fine, including photography as long as it is not an artist that simply takes photos of things close up. there needs to be something different/interesting about it :D

i am not a professional artist or anything, but i love art. but i have been lacking inspiration lately, not that i know where i get inspiration from exactly.

so where do you get your inspiration?

i have to find the gradient of curve y=8√x +x at the point where x=9

how would i go about doing this? do i need to differentiate?
