  • My 7 year old son s father is in prison for raping my 12 year old daughter?

I am in great conflict on how much/what kind of contact to allow my son to have with his father. At this time, he has very limited information, due to his age, on why dad s in jail. I want so badly to do the right thing for my son, but I honestly don t have a clue what that is.

P.S. No rude or nasty answers please!

  • I'm wanting to make a "green eggs and ham" themed cake?

My little boy wants a green eggs and ham themed cake for his 4th birthday. I do not like the store-bought wilton fondant. but I am trying to figure out how to make the ham and the eggs for on top of the cake. I'm thinking of using a small cake mix to carve the ham out of and color and put on top of the sheet cake, but i'm still trying to figure out the eggs. Also, if anyone has other ideas for the ham, or a better tasting fondant recipe, feel free to share.

  • Is this a hallucination or just part of a flashback?

Ok, I have severe PTSD from my mother forcably aborting my child when I was 16 by punching, kicking, and stomping on me. I have just recently remembered these events and have progressively remembered more details through flashbacks and nightmares. Sometimes, when i'm going to the bathroom, or taking a shower, for a moment, i will see blood coming out of my vagina, and then I "come back to reality" and realize there's no blood there. So, would this be classified as a hallucination or just part of a flashback? (the bathroom is where the incident occured, and yes I am in counseling, I just forgot to ask my counselor about this)

  • baby shower cake with ocean theme?

I'm doing a baby shower cake and the actual theme is under the sea. We have decided to do a beach/ocean scene and I was thinking it would be really pretty if I could do a sunrise in the background instead of just a blue sky, because i'm afraid the blue sky will blend too much with the ocean. However, I don't have the red, pink, yellow, and orange icing sprays, so i'll have to do it all with colored icing - any ideas of how to do this?

  • Help! My 3.5 year old is getting out of control!?

My 3.5 yr old little boy has developmental delays - both gross motor and speech. He, of course has regular 3 yr old tantrums. However, he also has another tier of tantrums - the "bad" ones. during these he screams uncontrollably, hits things and people, hits his head against walls and other objects, and, the recent addition to these, he throws things. 85% of the time he is a sweet kid whose speech is getting better all the time. During these times, he uses manners, waits decently patiently for a 3 yr old, but then it's like a light switch and he goes into his rages, and then the light switch eventually flips back down and it's over - no clue what triggers the "light switch." He's supposed to start seeing a child psychologist, but i'm still waiting on the referral from his dr to go through. What should I do to help my little guy???

  • stubborn diaper rash?

My 11 month old son has a really bad, stubborn diaper rash that is a little bit on his butt, but mostly around his penis and testicles. We have tried Boudreaux's and A&D ointment, and have kept him bathed regularly. Any ideas on what to do short of taking him to the doctor?

I am doing research for class and am finding it hard to find occupations, other than the medical industry, that have to be careful with the use of abbreviations due to mix-ups and confusion. Any help would be appreciated as would any links leading me in the right direction.

  • I need ideas from you guys!?

I'm trying to start up a cake business (I know this isn't about kids, but I get results from you guys) and my cousin owns a restaurant and is possibly interested in my cakes and wants me to put together some samples - I need unique, but not wierd, ideas for cake flavors. I already have ideas for some soda flavored cakes, a choc. covered strawberry cake, a choc cake with PB icing but I'm wanting her to have more choices if possible - any help is appreciated. Thank you!

  • Are there any other options other than baby cereal at this age?

Ok, my 7 1/2 week old little boy is already up to 6 ounces of formula every 3-4 hours (and sometimes it's a stretch holding him off that long) I was thinking about trying a small amount of baby rice cereal once, maybe twice a day because he just doesn't seem satisfied. I know the normal time to introduce cereal is around 3-4 months, but I'm not sure what else to do to satisfy his appetite without upping his ounces - but he's already an ounce or two ahead of the average for his age.

I nursed my daughter, so i'm not sure what to do in this situation.

  • how safe is castor oil to induce labor? and are there any other safe alternatives that you know of?

I had false labor a little over a week ago. I have been having irregular, painful contractions since. I am 38 weeks pregnant. As of last monday i was dilated 1 cm and 70% thinned out. I know that the baby would be ok to be delivered at this time and I am tired of being in pain from the contractions and just want to have the baby (yes i know labor will hurt worse, but it's temporary and has immediate results - the baby) Please, only helpful responses.

    Thank you all in advance.

  • What age do you tell kids the truth about Santa?

Ok, i realize some people don't teach the whole Santa thing, and i respect that decision - please respect my decision on teaching it. My 5 yr old little girl is beginning to get very indifferent with the whole Santa thing and I was thinking within the next year or two (by the time she's 7) of telling her so she has less chance of finding out from some kid at school. Is that an appropriate age?

  • why does everyone have to be so rude?

Ok, I know i'm on here to give my advice and hopefully help someone. However, after I answer, I also read other responses. Some people on here are extremely rude and continually discredit others as parents. What do you get out of this???? Does it make you feel better to make someone feel like they are a bad parent?

  • what would be a good first name for a little girl with the middle name of Opal?

We don't know what it is yet, (i'm only a couple months along) but we have decided on the boy name of Wyatt Clarence VanAusdal. We want the middle name to be Opal if it's a girl, after his grandma that passed about a year ago, but can't come up with names that go with it - i don't like names that can be either boy or girl.

  • 5 yr old lying?

ok, i'm asking this again, because the page messed up and i couldn't see most of the answers that were given. My 5 yr old has had problems in the past with lying. We had gotten the situation taken care of. She hadn't lied for like 3 months and then, all of a sudden, has begun lying again.....A LOT. I want some ideas for consequences for lying. I will NOT lie to her, because her father has already done that quite enough.

Please don't tell me lying is ok, or that she doesn't understand what she is doing is wrong - she has looked at the babysitter and told her "I know lying is bad, but i do it anyway."
