  • At what temperatures can someone get hypothermia?

I am always cold. If it's below 65, I'm frequently shivering. I was wondering if it were possible to suffer some sort of reprocussion, such as hypothermia, if your body simply isn't maintaining body temperature?

  • If you could tell your 17 year old self something, what would it be?

I am 21 - I think I would have told myself what job I would eventually decide on so I would have a portfolio prepared and not wasted a year on bs classes :)

    It can be about anything.

  • Is there a difference between sambuca and romana sambuca?

I bought some Romana Sambuca, unintentionally, for a drink recipe that called for Sambuca. The description I read said it was somewhat sweet, but it isn't in any sense of the word. Online, I read that it should taste like anise, and that romana is specifically licorice. Any help??

  • Can I use Liquitex Acrylic Ink! as hair dye?

I bought some Liquitex Acrylic Ink! bottles a few months ago and have used them for fabric dying, plain painting, and calligraphy. I've been wanting to dye my hair for awhile, and was considering highlighting it again when I realized that if my hair were bleached, it may give something for the inks to hold onto.

    http://www.liquitex.com/Products/inks.cfm

Even if you don't know about the product itself, can anyone give me some insight or links as to how hair dye works? Maybe I could figure it out chemically :) Thanks!

  • What does it mean to say that someone's voice carries well?

I have had noone comment on my voice before, but in the past 48 hours, two people have told me that my voice "carries well" - one asking if I were a singer, another saying I should be. What does that mean?

  • Where can I find an explanation of color layering for skintone using colored pencil?

I have used tutorials before for coloring skin with colored pencil and they've come out fantastic - realistic, soft, smooth and blended. I don't, however, know how to manipulate the color layers on my own. I want to understand why I'm using certain colors, and when! I have the Prismacolor set of 120.

  • What was your best acne solution? (Getting desperate...!)?

I have used just about every acne product on the market over the course of 5 years or so, starting early in middle school. The wipes, soaps, gels, and pills were almost all prescription and all had terrible side effects. Even the pills made my skin inflamed and peel. The only one that finally settled my ridiculously sensitive skin was Benzaclin, containing benzoyl peroxide. It stopped working about a year ago, but the acne on my face is now mild. I'm not terribly worried about my face, but when that settled, it spread to my neck, where it proceded to invade my chest. I couldn't wear anything lower than my collarbone, and made excuses - ruining my summer. My chest cleared up, but now my back is a nightmare. A dermatologist prescribed me Aczone, but I'm not seeing any changes. Tea Tree Oil has been a bad choice in the past, but I'm wondering how it'll perform on my back, not my face.

Any suggestions?! I really don't want to lose another summer! My acne is the worst on my shoulderblades, shoulders, and upper arms. I'm hesitant to just give the Tea Tree Oil a shot and screw up my skin more.

  • What eyeshadows should I try for green eyes and cool skin tone?

I have very cool skin, eye, and hair color - my hair is ashy brown and cool enough to look like it's been tinted green (I've had people ask if I dyed it). The whites of my eyes are definitely blue-white, but my skin tone is slightly reddened because I'm so light. My eyes are green with flecks of near-white and yellow.

    Any suggestions?

  • Would I want the ceramic dish on an oil burner to be thick or thin?

I'm making a porcelain incense burner but I can't decide if the dish should be on the thin or thick side. Thin and the heat transfers better, but could it heat too quick and break? Thick and it'll hold the heat well, but will it hold too much and not transfer it to the oil? Thanks for your opinions.

  • Any tips for using Liquitex acrylic Ink! on fabric?

I would really like to use Liquitex's acrylic Ink! on some fabric, something I've seen some "project cards" for lately. Unfortunatly, I can't find much information about it online or on the cards. I want to know if anyone's done it before, and what tips you'd give for them. Should I use a medium? If I do, will the medium add that fabric-paint-roughness to the inks (which would normally just be a stain)? Thanks

  • Can anyone suggest any container-like gift?

I have a really nice scarf for my mother-in-law for christmas. The idea my fiancee and I have is to give a container with two smaller gifts in it. His father is getting a kitchen container thing that seals with a push of a large button on top (you'd have to know him to know he'll love it) and inside is a humorous handtowel. We need one more gift for him, but I'm more concerned about what type of container to buy her.

She has jewelry boxes, cigar boxes, and plenty of tupperware, what other suggestions can you guys give me?

    Thanks!

  • When does background noise in a movie become classified as diegetic or non-diegetic?!?

I'm so aggravated at this point - I have to write an essay for my final exam in Film Appreciation, and one of the questions wants me to explain how the non-diegetic sound helps reveal the father's person in The Color of Paradise. ...As far as I know, THERE ISN'T ANY. I keep watching the movie and I keep getting more pissed. I was told Diegetic = sounds they can hear and Non-Diegetic = sounds they can't hear. Wikipedia tries to define it, but it's not that clear. If a dog barks off camera is it diegetic or non-diegetic? Does it depend whether it's a pet of one of the characters or just noise of the city?! UGH

  • Where can I ask questions to doctors online for free?

First off, I know not to get my medical advice online, and to be examined by a real doctor, but that's going to take a while. I figure someone online might have more information at their disposal and be able to help me until I can get to a doctor.

I have been having the WORST six years of my life. I'm 20, female, and I feel like my entire body is shutting down, little by little.

Any links you guys can give me? I really would like to post my symptoms (/vent) and have someone take me seriously - without saying it's all in my head (physical proof says it's not). I'd like to get a diagnosis before I'm 40.

  • Where can I find some instruction on drawing with colored pencil?

I'd like to see a site or some other source on how people learn to draw with colored pencil; I primarily draw in black and white. I have only been able to find step by step instructions, but I'm more looking for something I actually help me understand the process so as to apply it to more than one drawing. I have studied color theory, but I'm having a bit of trouble seeing and making the color. Any tips or places I should look?

  • How do I clean porous, vintage jewelry?

My neighbor, whose home is FULL of antiques, gave me some very vintage jewelry when I was younger. One of the pieces is a long necklace made of an unknown metal with many large, teal beads. They are so soft and porous, I'm not sure if they're stones. After sitting up on a cabinet in my kitchen for several years, they've accumulated some dust and I tried to wash them, without success. Any suggestions?

  • Is there a term for someone who compulsively throws things away?

I'm not aiming to diagnosis, but just out of curiosity, is there a term for this? My friend's mother is a compulsive buyer, but more along the lines of tag sales and some store sales, mainly junk. On the other hand, she will compulsively throw away items with no intenion of replacing them. For example, we found the pasta strainer in the garbage. There was nothing wrong with it, and it hadn't been replaced. When asked about it, she offered no logical explanation, but had acknowledged she threw it out. We'll often ask where things have been put away only to find out she threw it out weeks ago. No particular reason, or Sometimes "noone was using it" (a hoodie, in one instance. It wasn't being used at the time because it was summer). Any explanation?

  • Any outfit ideas for this black lace tunic (wet seal)?

I have this lace tunic from Wet Seal:

    http://www.wetseal.com/catalog/product.jsp?product...

I usually wear a bold blue tank underneath and dark wash jeans, but I'd really like some other suggestions. I was thinking about putting something over it; I wondered if it having a pattern as well would be too overwhelming. A lot of the ideas I saw on the website paired this with leggings. I have leggings, but I don't like wearing them as a bottom by themselves.

    Any ideas?

  • How do I unlock a Samsung Link?

I won a Samsung Link in a radio contest, and I have AT&T as my carrier. The person at the store counter said I could try putting my sim card in it - I had waited a couple days to talk to someone since I got the phone so I wouldn't open the case, in case I couldn't use it so I could return it. He offered to return it, and I declined so I could use it. I opened the box when I got home only to find that there's no sim card slot :( I called AT&T about it, and they said unless it was unlocked, they don't support the phone (which I thought was weird, the service guy on the phone said it so matter-of-factly that it didn't sound like they disapproved over at AT&T).

I really want to use this phone instead of mine, does anyone have any suggestions?
