I died, in 2001.(hospital negligence). It took 10 hours to stabilize me. Ill health forced me to retire. I loved being a Media / English teacher. I have a lot of time to THINK / research now. My wonderful son-in law came to visit. My unbelievably wonderful daughter needed to rest after another heart seizure - she's very ill. I played with my gorgeous grand-daughter my son-in law snuck into my study. When he left I discovered a new high power, thin screen, small main part, computer + Internet, games etc installed. Then I discovered, when browsing, Yahoo answers and the rest is history Students who had been rape/incested, beaten and and other awful things talked to me, spent hours in my class-room and became people I was proud to know. Apparently I "tell it as it is" and get to the main problem, and other nice things my students told me (I miss them). If you need help career-wise; any of those things above; history, English, I will care, and you can e-mail me.
G.Bush takes drugs so why don't medical people force him to retire.?
A site I read saysthat Bush takes masses of drugs because he was an alcoholic and has pyschiatric illness of paranoid meglomania.
I quote an item I read on the Internet
'These reports have been confirmed by prominent George Washington University psychiatrist Dr. Justin Frank in his book Bush on the Couch: Inside the Mind of the President. In the book, Dr. Frank diagnosed the President as a "paranoid meglomaniac" and "untreated alcoholic" whose "lifelong streak of sadism, ranging from childhood pranks (using firecrackers to explode frogs) to insulting journalists, gloating over state executions and pumping his hand gleefully before the bombing of Baghdad" showcase the president’s instabilities."
Captains on ships can be mutineed against but also can be removed if they are sick. Bush sails the ship of state and should be removed so why isn't he?
12 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoG.Bush over 15 million hits for 'I hate Bush. Do you think he knows?
Do you think Bush has been told he is hated so much. If I had 15 million people hate me I would pack up my job..
14 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy is being young so desired and being old so badly treated?
My students at school (I'm a teacher) said they would rather be dead than old. Why?
A Japanese student was sad. She said that in her family her old grandmother was respected and always asked for advice.
In Kenya, Africa where I grew up elders educated the young were in charge, and were respected The young people happyily looked forward to being respected elders
Here in Australia Aboriginal tribal elders were also respected.
A true-blood Aboriginal said young men travelled far, carried out brave deeds, did good deeds etc as part of life so that they could tell tales when they became elders even though life was tough. Now the Aboriginal full blood said that young half white men roamed city streets, drunk and useless. He said they seemed to want death and were incredibly dis-respectful to their elders.
There is a movement to get young aboriginals to return to their old ways Some Aboriginal towns have gone dry - banning all alcohol and have put the Grannies in charge
5 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoWhat does a co-ed mean?
I've looked it up in Wikapedia and could not find what it means.
Does it have some-thing to do with girls?
Does it have some-thing to do with education?
Why is it mentioned on porn sites?
I'm Australian and most of us do not use this word.
5 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agoWhy don't we have equality? Why does George Bush get more.?
Here in Australia the government is spending $30 million on security for a meeting which Gorge Bush will attend.
Part of Sydney has been fenced off.
Shops/business in that area have had to close - so make no money.
All parking has been stopped - no driving there.
On Friday no-one can work so most workers lose money.
It's not because of the other leaders because some of them came to West Australia e.g. Chinese president and there was only a little security.
If one gets burgled/beaten etc in/near Sydney while Bush is here there will be few police to attend e.g if an old person is burgled or a young girl raped hardly any police as they all securing Bush.
So people will not have equal protection
So why is Bush more equal than others?
4 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoMurder. Ever a reason that could be an excuse as well. Actual story?
At 3days old Shane was abandoned.
At 4yrs his mother took him
His Aunty fostered him at 5 .
BUT at 6yrs the court gave him legally back to his mum
At 9yrs I met him. He had scars on top of scars from the beatings various 'step dads' gave him.
When he was 13 he burglarized and murdered an old woman.
Mary was 7 when her step father started selling her to his friends and relatives. They did group sex and torture to her ( example with glass bottles)
Her mother knew and used Mary as a house cleaner.
Mary said that she learnt 'GOOD' behaviour from others - friend's parents, teachers etc,
Mary said we all know 'GOOD' behaviour. Mary said there is no excuse.
Mary's family told her it was her fault, she told no-one till she told me, her teacher at 14yrs. Legally difficult to prove.
What can a society do in Shane's case?
SAD Shane told me the worst was when often his Mum left him for several days and he had to steal food for his 2yr old brother.
2 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoWhy do people believe them-selves so clever and be racist?
I have lived in Africa; countries in Europe and now Australia. & visited Asia.
I've been an abused wife, a single Mum, poor & rich.
As a student I was top of the class. beat 800 students in one test.
I was a teacher for over 20 yrs.
I've died and been near death a few times.
I've known millionaires; top politicians (the better ones); masses of medical people (my father was an out-standing docotor) and I knew a brilliant old gardener.
I've helped (a bit) numerous young people who have been abused, verbally and terribly physically.
YET I know I still don't have the answers.
I know I have a heart, lungs, etc just like every-one else but can not make out what makes us all so gloriously but confusingly different.
I can't fly, read minds, climb, walk marathons or have lovely soft dark skin.
I know I am just as bad, in a little way, as every-one else
I can not under-stand why people are so frightened as to be racist etc.
Why are people so racist, sexist etc? WHY?
5 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoGlobal Warming. Why do young ignore it. won't affect me I'll be dead soon?
Global warming. why should I bother ( but I do)
( I'll be dead soon - age 63 and fairly ill.)
When young, I and my friends - marched, wrote letters, campaigned to
- try to stop nuclear war
- stop sexism
- reduce racism and stop segregation in South Africa.
It affected us and we CARED,. We were partly successful.
Global warming will affect any one under 30 yrs VERY BADLY.
But where are the protests; where are the millions of emails and Yahoo questions about Global warming?
Each day you delay is a year of more heat, less environment; and being closer to the destruction of YOUR PLANET.
So what are the young doing?
8 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoGood health or HAPPINESS for your children?
So many questions in 'Parenting' refer to health.
Fact - You can't have it all, there's good AND bad
As parents we need to prioritise for our children,
Parents now seem to want the health top of the list.
In 1700 a woman was lucky if 3 of her 12 children grew to be adults because of poor health
BUT there are other things like being joyous, appreciating Nature, loving reading and imagintion things etc.
These things do not just HAPPEN
Like good health they have to be worked on by parents.
The best day of my life - daughter's birthday.
Yet my children gathered at the back door, when I called them. There they marvelled and wondered. My 7yr old daughter said it was the best part of the day, better than presents or games.
Some other children came and couldn't understand. My children were marvelling at a RAINBOW.
But I had had to teach this wonder.
Why don't parents today want happiness / joy at the top of the list before health.
Disabled people can be happy
3 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoParenting; which more important your own gratification or your children?
At 32 I had a choice. I had had an abusive marriage. I had 2 children. A lovely man asked me to marry him. But lots of problems would have arisen for my children, because of his family.
I chose my children
I had a WONDERFUL time as a single Mum.
I got the BEST job in the world as a teacher.
I ADORED my children's TEEN years.
Now I feel safe and LOVED in my wonderful family from wonderful sons-in law to great great grand-children etc.
I made the right choice BUT
Question - why do so many young parents seem more intent on having a good time themselves rather than devoting their lives to their children?
Note - I am for Mums working, my girls said it gave them some-thing to be proud of and a good role model.
8 AnswersParenting1 decade agoMay Day. Let us arise once more to fight theBushes of the world and be free.?
People fight for their religion - Bushites call them terrorists and divide US the people
People had revolution but Bushites of the world campaigned divided us, the people -got rid of Communism so that Russians could go back to starving.
People think and want equality for the people by the people BUT Bushites say it is silly political correctness and we should be spending money.
In a few days Let's UNITE for freedom for the people by the people or at least start
"planning for May DAY 2008
when we will get rid of hate
when money will no longer be our God
when materialism will no longer be our rod
When in equalty
We will fight to be free
Muslim, Christian, Budhist, Jew
United against the evil few
Destroy the rich let's all share
And humans will show at last we care"
Question
Who wants to just stay comfortably selfishly materialistic?
Who wants to CARE, who wants to share?
Who wants something for me?
Who wants no hunger for all the world?
4 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoWhy are people so careless when giving child names? Richard Head?
I honestly knew a young man whose parents just did not THINK.
They called him Richard.
You know the nick-name is 'Dick'
Problem - the family name was 'HEAD'
Yes he was called 'Dick-head'
Yes he was stupid - poor boy.
Yes he used to fight - wouldn't you with a name like that
QUESTION - you know any other careless names combined with family names
TRUE ones only PLEASE not jokes.
Good news Dick changed his name to Steven when he was 18yrs old and he got cleverer
2 AnswersFriends1 decade agoIsn't heaven a rather gruesome concept.?
My mother - you probably also have a relative you do not enjoy being with
- heaven with her is awful prospect
-me in hell and her in heaven is awful prospect and the many people who dislike her extreme racism would agree
- me in heaven and her in hell awful prospect, the poor lady learnt her extreme ways from others it's not her fault.
[after decades of her telling me I was stupid, plain and useless, I'm just beginning to watch my grand-children and children have better lives because I did not put them down. Also her extreme racism is not only bad it's embarrassing for those around her from neighbours to family]
So heaven is an awful prospect.
It also sounds so BORING
What are your thoughts?
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoBush. Is he sick? If so waht can be done?
I used to hate Bush and laugh at Bush jokes.
Then a clever relative pointed out he has the symptoms of a brain dis-order where one can not clarify one's thoughts and one's speech comes out with the wrong words. This sounds like Bush.
If he is sick it makes it worse that it is covered up, by people who have money to gain. Perhaps we are blaming the wrong man, like laughing at some-one with dementia.
If he is sick, what can be, and what should be done?
6 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoWhat is the CORRECT term for the original owners of America?
Words do mean a lot.
Big lady sounds better than fat etc.
Here in Australia our original owners are called 'Aboriginals'; it means original or native to a place.
In the 60's there were people called 'Red Indians' which always sounded odd to me, as a child.
But what is CORRECT and NICE term for your original people.
Please no bashing, I really do not know what term is most polite/ correct etc and I want to be polite.
7 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoWhy do Americans think they invented every-thing?
I asked a question and this person said the Americans invented electricity.
I double checked and every-one else from Chinese to French (Ampere) and English (Faraday) and others had lots to do with electricity.
Why do Americans think they know every-thing etc.?
It's only a baby country. The original owners, (I don't know how they should be referrred to - but native Americans) knew more.
The white americans only got their knowledge from old Europe.
Your conceit is making a lot of the world dis-like you.
So why do you keep insisting you invented every-thing?
12 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoDoesn't America have electricity?
In British police films the police enter a room and SWITCH on the light.
In American police films, they turn on torches.
Also in anything about the U.S.A. , from films to documentaries, especially about New York, everything in the streets is so DARK.
In Britain, in winter they have short days so it's dark a lot.
Here in Western Australia, we have more hours of SUN-shine than any where else in the world and the light is so clear, one NEVER needs lights in the day. You couldn't see a torch shining, even in a basement as the sun comes creeping , even into dark areas.
So WHY these torches in American films?
3 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoB.B.C.'s 'Top Gear - why so watchable?
I'm a lady in her sixties, a relative is a computer nerd, my mother is 85 and has dementia, a daughter loves to shop and do mummy things.
What do we have in common/
We ALL love 'Top Gear' .
WHY?
4 AnswersTelevision1 decade agoWhy are so VERY many questions in Yahoo so racist, religiously biased etc.?
Are people really still so insecure that they have to be so racist and so religiously intolerant?
Is it a country thing/
Because I am sure that ,although we do have a few suburbs that are racist in Sydney MOST people here are NOT racist.
My suburb is full of Australians born in a multitude of countries but we are all just culturally intergrated.
14 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoWhat is more important - your life or the world? Why?
I was lucky I knew people, when I was younger, in Africa and Europe, who devoted their whole lives to doing things for the world. Most died poor but left the world richer.
I believe if my death would mean lots of people would be better off it would be good.
Men such as Mandal P.. and Ghandhi devoted or gave their lives to free India.
My father, a doctor, devoted his life to preventative medicine, as did many of his friends.
If you think your life is more important WHY?
What can we, who think the world is more important, do to save the world's environment?
