I have a Prize Winning Photo, Do you know Where to post it for $$$$?
During all of the many thunder storms and torrential downpours we have experienced over the past few days, I was able to capture a pic on my phone that is too funny for words. I will post it to my gallery eventually, but before I do, can anyone tell me a site that I could possibly make some money from it? Thanks to all who respond.~ Donna
1 AnswerMedia & Journalism1 decade agoDo you take the time to read all responses and to questions and rate them?
It's very important to me to read everyone's response to the asker's question. It is also VERY rate for me to do a Thumbs Down, as I believe we are all entitled to our opinion. I will only do that if the answer is hurtful or extremely disrespectful. I will not give a rating at all if the person just gives "yes" or "no" as the answer.
Now that I've asked this question, does it add anything to the Yahoo point value to have positive ratings? Even if it doesn't, I will continue to read and rate as it is the polite thing to do. ~D
8 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoWhat is up with Yahoo Mail?
It happened a few days ago I think, and it just happened! I don't think I got any notice about it. When did the font choices when composing my Yahoo mail change? My favorite font is gone. Where did it go? Why do we have so few to choose from? Did I do something wrong? Does Yahoo hate me? Can I apologize? Who should I apologize to? Do you think that will make a difference? I really want Comic Sans back. Does anyone else feel this way? Do you think I might just have some sort of mental disorder? ~D
3 AnswersOther - Yahoo Products1 decade agoMedicare/Medicaid and Lap Band Surgery?
I don't know the difference between Medicare and Medicaid, but I know that I have them both. Does anyone know if they will pay for the Lap Band Surgery? I would like to know before I embarrass myself and ask my doctor about it. I think I fit into the weight category to qualify me for it (ain't I proud of that!). Thank you to anyone who answers this. ~Donna
13 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoCat on Steriods?
My cat is 7 years old and has had to be on steroids almost year round (all but a few months in the winter) due to having scabs on his back, under his chin, & the base of his tail. The first year he lived with us we lived in another house; and he didn't have this problem. He is NOT an outside cat. At first we thought it was a flea allergy since it happened in the summer time (we had moved in March and the bumps came out in June). That is not the case. He has never had fleas. The only difference in the 2 houses is that this house has camel crickets in the basement the occasionally will find their way upstairs. The vet says they wouldn't cause any allergic reaction though. I don't like him to have the shots, but if he doesn't get them, his hair falls out (he is an American long hair). I have tried all different kinds of foods and even have tried herbal remedies. Nothing works. I have him on the pills right now; but the breakout is bad enough that the vet's office is getting near.
3 AnswersCats1 decade agoEeeewwww, Eeeeewww, Smell that Smell!?
Can anyone PLEASE tell me the scent that is in the neck pillow that Beauti Control gives the hostess of one of their spa parties? I love the product; the party was a bit fun, but the stench of the pillow when warmed is unbareable! I have tried putting lavender sachets that I made into the cover - and that didn't help at all. I don't want to take the entire thing apart as it is really well balanced and if it didn't contain the obnoxious odor I would love it. If you have any suggestions please help me. I am also not a seamstress and anything that even smacks of sewing is not something that I can do. (What a crappy grandma I am!) Thanks in advance ~D

When you got your tattoo(s) and/or piercing(s), was it/were they planned in advance?
Did you get something that is part of a "group" insignia, is it a more personal and intimate meaning, is it a societal statement, or is it something you just found alluring and wanted to do?
Do you find tattoo(s) and/or piercing(s) to be addictive? If so, how many do you have and do you plan on more in the future?
32 AnswersTattoos1 decade agoHelp With Getting Glasses?
I am 60 years old, have been on Disability for about 7 years, have no vision benefits, wear tri-focals, and have not had a new pair of glasses or an eye exam for about 11-13 years. About 3 months ago I broke my glasses and have been wearing ones from Big Lots. I can get them for about $1.50 a pair there. I wear one strength to drive with (I only drive if I HAVE to), I wear a different strength pair to read with, and a different strength pair to be on the computer with. It is now to the point that these are not working for me any longer. I have talked with my case worker at DHHR and she was really rude to me and didn't help with a solution. The Lion's Club does not have a phone number listed. AARP has a program, but I can't afford to pay even a small amount on the amount of my fixed income. Can anyone please suggest any program available. I have done some internet searches but nothing comes up even remotely close to my city in West Virginia. Thank you ~D
1 AnswerOptical1 decade agoBrowsing through and noticing (mis?)use of Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down?
To me the Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down feature is an excellent feature and in my opinion "Thumbs Down" should be used when an answer
a. is thoughtless
b. rude
c. does not relate to the question in any way
d. attacks the questioner or other responders in any way
On the other hand, Thumbs Up should be used as often as possible, as should the "I find the topic interesting" feature (if indeed you do feel these things about the topic and/or the response).
After spending a few days not posting or responding, but just sitting back browsing and reading (now that I have reached Level 2 and can use the TU/TD feature), it seems to me that far too many people use this in a very vindictive manner. I see it being used on so very many discussions when the responder simply disagrees with what the topic is about.
Am I wrong in feeling that this is an incorrect use of the feature? Quite often I have noticed that a question may have only 4-5 answers, yet 1 response may have 6-7 TDs. Is this right?
5 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoWill You Bury an Ostera Egg on March 20th?
Many of the holidays we celebrate come from other cultures than just the ones we normally think of. Easter was once celebrated as Ostara (or Eostre), the Teutonic goddess of spring and dawn, was represented with fertile rabbits at her feet. (hence the Easter bunny)
Tradition holds that on the Spring Equinox (this year, Thursday, March 20th), you can "hatch" your wishes with an Egg Ritual.
To perform the ritual, boil an egg for each person who will be participating. While the eggs are cooling take time to think of what your goals and dreams are. Then, you may want to have a scrap of paper and pencil to practice making symbols of these goals and dreams.
If you are going to color your egg, you will want to mark your symbols on your egg before coloring. I use a yellow crayon to do this, as the dye won't penetrate the crayon.
After decorating and coloring, bury the egg in your garden or yard to "hatch" your wishes. What will you wish for?
9 AnswersEaster1 decade agoWho Will Be Celebrating Ostara (Spring Equinox) on March 20?
Ostera is a time for celebration of life and new growth.
If you are going to celebrate Ostara how will you be celebrating this year?
I will be making a very simple recipe for Truffles that I will share with you.
1/2 cup butter
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup powdered sugar
chopped nuts and/or coconut
Cream butter. Stir in cocoa, making sure it is lump free. Add cocoa, again making sure it is lump free. Sift in powdered sugar and cream the entire mixture. If the mixture is too soft, add more powdered suger a bit at a time.
Shape this into a log and roll it in nuts or coconut (or a combination of both if you wish). Chill for at least 1 hour. Cut into slices.
If you choose you can also shape these into eggs instead of rolling into a log.
9 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoName for eye disorder Opthamologist sees but causes no problem with my vision?
I have used just about every search engine I can think of and can't find the eye disorder that I have; and am embarrassed to call my surgeon to ask him what I have. When he looks into my left eye he always gets very excited and says, "Yes, I always forget that you are my patient that has ????????". He then tells me the name of the disorder and says it is very beautiful for him to look at. (Go figure - this man is a gorgeous hunk and all he sees in me is an eye disorder! LOL). Regardless, I did write the name of the disorder down once a few years ago and found a picture of it on the internet. Indeed, it is a very pretty sight. From what I remember it was a lot of brightly colored spots. They are only visible to the doctor upon examination and cause no visual problems to me at all. I was telling my daughter about this the other night and wanted to look up the picture to show her. I know if I see the name of the disorder I will recognize it. Please help if you can ~Donna
