I love reading, classical music (Ilike all types of music), creating stained glass. I can also get lost for hours on Yahoo Answers! I am twice retired, one from the military and one from civilian work. These retirements are what allow me to play every day. I am trying to learn more about 'green' living. I think I am doing my part to help fairly well.
We adopted a pooch on Thursday?
of last week. She is about 4 months old and a mixed breed (mutt). Our problem is that she was evidently a 'street dog' and isn't taking to reguler pet food. She still thinks that bugs, moles, and field mice are a good diet. She will look for these over a full bowl of 'IAMS' Puppy food and chicken. Does anyone have any ideas of what to do to get her trained for regular food? I surely would appreciate some answers.

2 AnswersPhysics1 decade agowhen are the people going to?
realize that working on a committee with someone does not make them friends. As Obama said, he was only 8 years old when Bill Ayers was doing his anti-government schtick.
Do we spend as much time on McCain's POW years ruminating about the speaches he made while in Hanoi?
Let's quit sling mud, barbs, and arrows and spend the last few days trying to figure out what each presidential candidate stands for !
In other words, GIVE IT A BREAK ! !

Just who IS Sam 'n Ella and why are they poisoning so many people? They are sure getting a lot of newspaper lines and air time. Almost every day you hear that Sam 'n Ella poisoned someone else. I don't understand why the FBI or whoever can't find them.
What's that? Salmonela poisoning? Oh Hell! ! I thought it was a conspiracy ! ! !

Why in the name of granny do people who ask questions not use the spell-check that is available when asking questions? It would certainly help us readers to understand the question(s) being asked!!!!!
4 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agothe illusory colors of black and white?
We have been taught for centuries that WHITE is the presence of all color, and BLACK is the absence of all color.
Why is it not explained differently? I think that the statement should be reversed.
To give credence to this statement, look at any color, primary colors preferred. If a pure red light is shown against a white surface, we see the red being reflected and not absorbed.
All colors BUT the green are absorbed. The same goes for any other color, or group of colors
A prism separates all colors of the visible spectrum allowing us to see each color that is NOT absorbed, but reflected.
If a person takes all colors of the spectrum (R.O.Y.G.B.I.V)
and mixes them together this person will end up with a black color. This means that EVERY color is absorbed and not allowed to reflect. White, in this statement is achieved if NO colors are absorbed It stays inside the object being illuminated. I'd really like to hear both pro and con arguments for this idea. - - -Joemama

1 AnswerFashion & Accessories1 decade agoWhat kind of bug is this???
It is about 1/2 inch long. It has six legs and is about 1/8 inch wide. It has something that looks like pincers at the rear. It is
a medium/dark brown. They get in the house at night if there is an open door, in the bird food (by the hundreds). They seem to be semi nocturnal.
Will they bite? are the pinchers real? Need to know because of small family members - - -Thanks

3 AnswersEngineering1 decade agoDonation of Body?
I am getting to the age where I should start thinking how my remains are treated after I die. Does ANYONE have information on the donation of my body after death? I reside in the north-central area of North Carolina. I have had both an uncle and an aunt do this. They lived in Florida. This was done at no cost to anyone. After the use of the body they were cremated and the ashes returned to the family. ALL at NO COST. Sounds like a plan to me! If anyone has info about this in NC or VA, I would appreciate info as to where I can find out more. - - - Thanks
