  • what kind of flowers are these?

I know they are sugar flowers, and I've already asked in a few other sections with no answer, so I'm hoping maybe someone here might know what they are called and maybe even where I could buy/order some?

  • What interest rate will make $2000 per year for 10 years equal to $20,000?

What interest rate will make $2000 per year for 10 years equal to $20,000?

Would prefer if someone could tell me HOW to work this problem rather than just give me an answer.

It just seems to me like there is something missing from this problem.

    Thanks!

  • What is the meaning of V'(t)?

I'm working on some calculus problems and they want me to first find V'(t) and then interpret it's meaning, but I have no idea what kind of answer they expect.

The problem has to do with double declining balance depreciation and I'm given this equation:

    V(t)=5200(0.80)^t

I don't need help finding V', I just need help explaining what V' is supposed to represent.

    Thanks!

  • I'm making a cake with the Wilton buttercream frosting...?

I am wondering if I should refrigerate it after it is decorated or if it's OK to leave out. I plan to make the cake Thursday night for consumption on Saturday. My concern is the frosting colors bleeding into each other if it is refrigerated.

The cake will be frosted white with red, yellow decorations. I've refrigerated my cakes in the past but have never used such bold colors. Will the condensation from removing the cake from the fridge cause bleeding? Would it be safe to leave out so long?(I live in Texas and there is usually high humidity but we keep our indoor temp around 74 degrees)

  • Why is my 9 yr old cat all of a sudden determined on running out the door?

I have a Persian cat who will be turning 9 years old at the end of this month. He is a very anti social cat who keeps to himself unless he wants treats. About 2 weeks ago he's become more and more adamant at running out the front door each time we open it. Last night he managed to sneak out without us noticing and was out there for about 30 minutes before we found him. Today he has been acting really bad and pacing around and scratching at the windows and doors. He pooped in our bathroom and spit up a giant hairball in our bathroom sink. He's usually a very good cat, and has always had a designated spot where he spits up his hairballs and has NEVER used it outside the litter box. He is neutered and has been so since he was a kitten. We have another Persian who is not fixed, and a female but he shows absolutely no interest in her. So what could be so interesting outside?

We live in an apartment complex and I noticed that when he acts the most determined to get out the window is when he sees a person walk by like he knows them. But again, like I said, he's never ever been the type of cat to show affection or interest in people or another cat.

My husband keeps saying he's probably trying to get out so he can find a place to go die, but he's only 9 years, I don't think it's his time yet, and he is definitely a very healthy cat.

  • I just switched my dogs food..?

We adopted him from a shelter just over a month ago, where he was eating Pedigree dog food. When we brought him home he wouldn't touch the stuff so we returned the Pedigree and got him some Beneful. He ate the Beneful up and seemed to like it, the only problem is that he is shedding way too much since we've had him, his whole stomach area is practically bare which I first though was stress from being crated while we were gone, but it didn't' make sense. He was in the shelter kennel for over 30 days and was full of hair and only light shedding. We decided to change his dog food back to pedigree and this time he ate it up, but he got really bad diarrhea and pretty much had it all day long. I haven't fed him today so he hasn't done anything, but I want to know if you think I should continue him on the Pedigree and let him adjust, if I should put him back on Beneful or try a whole new dog food, or if I should buy a small bag of Beneful to mix with the pedigree...what suggestions do you have for me? I know you're supposed to do a gradual change, I just got lazy because the last 2 dogs we had were perfectly fine when we would switch their foods. Would going back to his old food and then trying to change to Pedigree help or what do you suggest I try?

  • Why is my black lab shedding when we leave him alone?

We adopted a lab from an animal shelter about a month ago. From what we were told he had been there about a month before we got him. When we met with him we noticed that he was losing hair but did not think much of it because we assumed it was his time to shed and since he had been caged for so long.

As soon as we got him home we gave him a bath and brushed out TONS of hair. For about the first 4 days or so I was vacuuming and sweeping up after him and each time gathering a very large amount of hair. It finally seemed to slow down to where now I only have to sweep and vacuum once or twice a week.

However, we live in an apartment and crate him ONLY when we leave. By the time we get back there is a huge puddle of drool around his cage and lots and lots of hair, clumps even. For a while I thought he was losing his hair all over but now I am starting to notice his hair thinning on his stomach area. We were gone about 4 hours the other day, the longest he's even been crated, and when we got home his stomach appears near bald now.

I'm wondering if this is a result of stress or allergies or what? Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas other than taking to to the vet? I've never seen him lick down there and he doesn't really scratch anywhere all that often, nor have I seen any fleas on him. He does have a cute, sometimes annoyingly loud habit of washing his feet before he goes to bed with us, but that's it for the licking.

  • How can I have my home inspected for health reasons?

First off I'd like to apologize if I am posting in the wrong category. Please let me know the correct one if it is wrong.

We moved into an apartment a little over a year ago and noticed there was mold in the A/C vents and on every single window. We notified the apartments right away and were told 2 different things. The leasing agent told us that we would have to pay to have the vents cleaned ourselves and they would not do it. The assistant manager told us she would have someone come and at least clean up the mold on the windows. Well, no one ever came and after asking at least 4 times for them to do something about it, we gave up.

Long story short, I am trying to find a way to have someone come out and inspect the apartment to see if it violates health and safety laws. We are trying to move out before our lease is up and are trying to find out if the issue is grounds to terminate the lease early.

We did submit requests in writing at least 3 times to them when we first moved in, which should comply with their terms for early move-out due to failure on their half to remedy the situation. Or am I totally wrong?

We have about a month and a half left on the lease and they are telling us we will need to pay rent for the remaining contract, plus water, plus a releting fee which is going to be well over $2000.

If anyone can help me out or point me where I need to be I would appreciate it.

  • Can anyone help me find a "rare" baby blanket?

I am looking for a baby blanket by Bright Future. It is white/cream in color with dots or raised bumps on one side. My mother purchased one for my daughter last July at JcPenney for my baby shower. My daughter has become EXTREMELY attached to it and we have to take it with us everywhere. It wasn't until she was about 7 or 8 months old that she became so attached, and since then I have been searching everywhere for one because JcPenney does not carry them anymore.

I did manage to locate the EXACT one I am looking for on Ebay and the person is asking $70 for it which I cannot afford. It retailed for $24.99 when it was purchased. The listing on ebay calls it a "Bright Future Minky Dot White Blanket".

If ANYONE could help me locate one that doesn't cost so much or has one of these in great condition and is willing to sell or give it to me PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know. My daughter is 16 months old now and got very sick yesterday, so sick that she keeps vomiting on the one she has now and we've had to take it from her several times to wash it and it's pure torture on her. I hate doing it to her. We've tried others similar to it but she refuses them.

  • Help, my 15 month old has a full body rash!?

Today as my husband was giving her a bath, he noticed that she had red splotches all over her chest area. The longer the bath lasted the more it seemed to spread. Her ENTIRE body is now covered with little red bumps, from scalp to the bottom of her feet, but it doesn't seem to be affecting her. We haven't introduced anything new to her or did anything different with her bath so we're a bit puzzled at what it could be.

She's been a little fussier than usual the past few days but she's also not taken long naps like she usually does during the day. I've noticed no fever or strange behavior from her. The rash does seem to become more defined when she gets upset (cries, screams, yells). It's been about 10 hours now and we've been waiting to see if it's doing to go away or get worse.

She's looked so tired all day and the rash makes her appear sad, even though I know she's not. We haven't called her doctor yet and have been debating all day if it's something we should talk to a doc about immediately or wait till the morning.

Anyone out there ever experience something like this? How serious could it be? Is it worth seeing a doctor immediately or waiting till morning? Like I said, it doesn't seem to be bothering her at all, it's just her skin appearance that has us concerned.

  • MS Office Survey....sorta...?

So I'm taking an MS Office class and one of the questions the instructor wants us to answer is:

"What formatting mistakes should you avoid?"

She has asked us to to ask others this question if we don't have much word processing experience, and I, unfortunately fall into that category. So if anyone can help me out here with a few ideas and suggestions on what to avoid I'd appreciate it!

And no, I'm not asking you to do my work for me, I'm asking for the most common formatting errors people make so that I can use those mistakes to develop a discussion. Thanks.

  • My daughter has had a fever since Saturday...help?

My daughter has been running a fever since Saturday and it is almost constant. I have been giving her tylenol to keep it down but it just doesn't seem to want to go away! I am very worried about her. She also has a rash around her mouth and below her eyes and has tiny red bumps all over her body. I took her to the doctor Monday and the doc could not find anything wrong with her. She said the rash seemed minor(it wasn't flared up at the time) and the bumps didn't look like a cause for concern. The fever is still unexplained, she took a sample of her urine and said it could take 2-3 days to find anything out. I don't want my daughter sitting here with a fever for 2-3 more days, this is ridiculous. She did have her shots about 12 days ago, but the doc said it was too late too be having a reaction to them, although the injection site also has flared up at the same time the fever started. She doesn't act like anything is bothering her. I've tried looking in her mouth to see if it could be related to teething also but I am not too sure. Up until today she was eating fine, all day today she just picked at her food and didn't eat too much, though she did very well with her bottles and her cups. BTW, she is 13 months old. Another thing that I have noticed within the past week is her increased thirst. Normally she would consume about 15 oz of water and juice a day and now it has gone up to about 40 oz a day. I mentioned this to the dr as well, she thought it was strange but still did not seem concerned. Has this ever happened to anyone before? Any suggestions? She's had a fever for 4 days now...can it last that long if she really is only teething??

  • Has anyone seen a chair like this....

Recently I was at a consignment shop for small children and I saw a chair that I absolutely have to have. It was priced to sell but the manager of the store said she would not sell it because it was a part of their display. So now I have been looking everywhere for a chair like this and would like your help!

The chair was purple, it was plastic of course and maybe an inch or so off the ground, the back of the chair had a winnie the pooh pic on it and just at the top of the back was a small unbrella attached. It's obviously a toddler chair but I have no idea what the correct name for this chair would be so it's kind of hard to search for.

If anyone can help or provide pics of what you think I'm talking about please do!!

  • 1st BIrthday help please?

I'm planning a party for my child's 1st birthday and need some ideas on what to serve. I am planning on 30-35 people. So far I've thought of sandwiches and pizza, but I am curious if anyone has any other suggestions that aren't too expensive. Its going to be mainly outdoors in mid-July.

Also, I would like to get party favors for the kids in attendance but other than animal crackers and some water squirters I have no clue what to get. The age range is from 1yr-4yrs. Any ideas on that? Thanks.

  • Coughing fits related to allergies?

My husband has allergies and most of the time it's just the typical symptoms...runny nose, itchy, watery eyes. Well about 2 weeks ago now he's started going into these really bad coughing fits which usually happen in the mornings and evenings. He's taken Zyrtec and some cough and cold meds but they don't really seem to help him. He's used Primatine Mist for as long as I've known him for other reasons and it has helped him with the coughing but it's short lived relief. He did start the coughing about the same time we got a long haired cat, which he's always claimed to be allergic to but says it passes after a week of around the animal. He has the coughing fits even when we are places where there are no animals and places where he's never had bad allergies. I'm just wondering if anyone might know an explanation to the coughing, he only talks about going to see the doc about it when it gets really really bad. In my opinion it's always bad because he usually ends up lightheaded and tired.

  • SAHM's with 6-9 month olds sleeping through the night?

What is your schedule like with your baby? How many hours of sleep at night do they get? When do they go to bed, when do they wake up? When/how often do they eat? When/how often do they nap? How much time do you spend playing with them and how much time do you allow them to play alone?

  • 7 month old baby cries at bath time?

My daughter used to LOVE taking baths. We would give her a bth every night since she was about 1 month old and she absolutely loved "swimming" around in the water. She looked forward to bathtime every night and it was actually something that calmed her and also part of her bedtime routine. Recently, starting about a week ago, she's began screaming like she's in pain everytime we put her in the tub. We barely have enough time to get her hair washed before she has a melt down and starts turning blue and purple from crying so much. Has anyone experienced this? Or have any advice for me? We even tried giving her a sponge bath and it too makes her have a melt down.

  • 7 month old with white spots on insides of lips?

I took my daughter to see her doctor yesterday because I noticed some white spots on the insides of her lips. They look like very tiny blisters and also like dry skin. The doctor took a look at it and said it may just be the weather but wants me to keep an eye on it for now. She doesn't seem too concerned about it but I am still trying to figure out what it could be. I agree with her that it MAY be the weather but at the same time I'm wondering if it could be from her pacifier? Within the past 3 weeks she's taken to her pacifier quite well, so well, she has to have it in her mouth almost constantly. Do you think this could be the culprit, or has anyone had any such experience? I've tried taking her paci from her but she will just start chewing on anything she finds (clothes, blankets, stuffed animals, toys) and get very fussy.
