New email for an old account?
I've been a Yahoo user since the mid-90s, and the email address I created back them is (obviously) by now a complete spam magnet. I'd really like to set up a new email address, but I also want to keep my old account and login ID. Is there a way to either set up a second email address on my account, or delete the old one and replace it?

If a trial event has a 38% chance of succeeding, what is the probability of obtaining one success in three trials? How about two successes in three trials?
1 AnswerMathematics1 decade agowhat was the name of that book?
There was a book we were assigned in high school, it was one of those "classic" novels - kids at a boarding school, main character narrating, his best friend broke his leg and died of bone marrow embolism.
Any Lit professors out there that can help me out?
1 AnswerBooks & Authors1 decade agopersonal doctor who library?
The BBC is taking forever to release all the old series on DVD, and I'm tired of waiting to complete my collection. There are some of the old shows that I haven't even seen yet!
Does anyone know anyone out there who has a complete collection of the 4-7th doctors? And can you put me in contact with them?
1 AnswerOther - Television1 decade agoA good joystick-using PC game?
I'm usually more of an empire-builder gamer - Civilization, Masters of Orion, that sort of thing. For my birthday, I got a joystick from a well-meaning but uninformed relative. I must admit, it's pretty kick-@ss as joysticks go, and I just feel it's a shame to not use it. Trouble is, I don't know of any really cool games using one. In fact, the only game I'm familiar with at all for the joystick is Flight Simulator, which bores me to tears.
I've tried Best Buy and Circuit City, but they have nothing interesting on the shelves, and the kids that work there have proven singularly unhelpful. I even tried digging out my old copy of Freelancer, thinking that might be a good one to play again, but, alas, it has no option for a joystick. Can anyone recommend something fun? Maybe a space combat type-of-thing a la Homeworld?

10 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoOld names for Sickle Cell Disease?
I was looking at another case of sickle cell today, and found my thoughts wandering:
Sickle Cell trait originated in Africa as a defense against malaria. Carrying one gene for the trait is not harmful, but carrying two genes is usually fatal, even with treatment. But surely, people were dying of Sickle Cell disease before we even knew what it was - even before the Europeans began serious colonization of Africa. So I wonder, when some kid belonging to some primitive African tribe drops dead of Sickle Cell, did they have a name for the illness? Did they even recognize it at all, or was it simply buried in the usual infant mortality?
I wonder if they thought it was contagious? Did they have some sort of treatment or "cure"?
1 AnswerOther - Diseases1 decade agoSteroid use in professional sports?
There's been a lot of bru-ha-ha recently about professional athletes using "performance-enhancing" drugs. It's even reached the level of Congressional investigations, and Federal Law.
If our elected officials are going to ban performance enhancers as unfair or unhealthy (or any other reason) shouldn't they be fair and ban performance enhancers in other professions? Shouldn't they also ban plastic surgery, boob jobs, and make-up for professional actresses as unfair performance-enhancers?
Also, what other things do you think should be banned in any other professions as "performance-enhancers"?

First, read this news story: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080423/od_nm/witchcra...
Given the current American trend toward a belief in magic (crystal power, aromatherapy, fung shei, paganism, etc etc), how much longer do you think it will be before we start seeing people arrested for assault using black magic?
5 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoDoctor Who on DVD?
Why hasn't the BBC released all the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th Doctor episodes on DVD yet? It seems only about half of them are out there, and they aren't "by season", only by episode.
Does anyone out there have them all on DVD or VHS? If so, maybe we could get together and trade.
