  • Where should I go to have a bronze ring gilded/gold plated?

So I recently got engaged and, because I am a medievaist, my fiancee got me a gold-over-bronze viking ring. It is authentic from the 9th-10th century AD. Unfortunately, probably due to age, the gold has almost completely rubbed off, revealing a pinkish shiny bronze underneath.

I assume the process for re-golding the bronze is the same regardless of age, but I cannot for the life of me find a jeweler who works with base metals.

So, where do I go to put some new gold on my ring?

  • Has anyone ever read/heard of a book told from 2 or 3 pov where one chapter repeats the scene from the prior chapter from a different pov.?

Have you ever seen or heard of a book where one chapter is the same scene as the chapter before it, but told from a completely different point of view, so that you see the same events from a completely different character. Even if you haven't, what would your opinion of a book like this be?

For instance in Chapter 1 Character A is sitting alone, and the reader knows what their thinking. Midway through the chapter Character B enters the room. BUT in chapter 2 the story hasn't progressed at all, instead the reader is simply seeing what Character B was doing/thinking before entering the room, and what they think while in the room.

  • How do I set up my second monitor as touch screen?

I have an ASUS Zenbook UX305FA laptop. I recently bought a touch screen Acer FT220HQL monitor to use with it. Ideally I would have the Acer as the primary (or only) monitor when I'm using it. Unfortunately, when I plug into the monitor, the display will show however I want, but the touch screen is inactive and when I view my System information it tells me that "No Pen or Touch Input is available for this Display," which is true of the ASUS laptop, but shouldn't be the case with the Acer monitor.

How do I fix this issue.

    Additional information:

    OS: Windows 8.1

    Connected via HDMI

    Alternative connections: VGA and USB.

  • Large hard drive and i7 vs. Small SSD and i5?

Some of you may have seen my earlier RAM or Processor question. I've put that information to use and have come down to two choices:

One has a 500 GB Hard Drive and the Intel i7 processor.

The other has a 128 GB SSD and the Intel i5 processor.

I make use of a lot of cloud storage and know that the SSD can speed things up. Both have 8 GB RAM.

So, I need to know if the SSD makes it worth the trade off on the processor and quantity of storage.

  • Why do atheists refuse to have faith in anything?

People come here all the time and beg us for evidence. Simply put, we have our historic documents that you chose to ignore because we include them in our religion. You won't argue with me that there was a Pharaoh called Khufu who ruled over Egypt and built pyramids. There's just as much proof, but one has nothing to do with modern religion so that is acceptable. You have faith in non-religious history and stories, and you know the set up for a myth. Personally, I do believe that Genesis is mostly mythology, but I believe most of the rest is true. Its exactly the same, why don't you deny it

  • Unsure of what this spot on my scrotum is...?

I have a half-inch in diameter red, pimple like spot at the base of my scrotum, NOT TESTICLES. It is sore to the touch, and no puss squeezes out. I am not sexually active, and it just appeared today. Also is it possibly related to masturbation

  • Where do you think the US military will be focused next?

We all know that most of the US military's focus is currently in middle east, fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, etc. And for most of the twentieth century we focused on Europe and Asia in '50s and '60s. Where would the US be focusing its troops once we're done with the Middle East.

  • Looking for my first job at age 15. In Allegheny County Pa?

I'm a 15 year old boy, 16 in October, and I live in Allegheny County, Pa. Just north of Pittsburgh. I'm at the point where I want to look at a real job, but I'm not entirely certain how I do that. Are the laws, regulations, etc. that limit where I can work? I've heard some things about needing something from my school. Also any suggestions on where I can work (aside from fast food) would be cool. Thanks!
