I am trying to transfer from a 2-year school to a fairly competitive 4 year.

However I have tried at college before. I went straight out of H.S and managed to get a GPA of .5 over the course of two years, before withdrawing. I have since switched to a completely unrelated major, in which i am self motivated to do well in, and currently have a 3.6 GPA from 18 Credits.

Can I leave my 1st school completely off the application? Because im not transferring anything from there, I imagine it will do nothing but dull my chances.

If not, how much would this affect my acceptance chances.?

I know that i am clearly capable and willing to work, and am determined to continue doing well however i have two years of bad history behind me, and I can't afford to put my dreams on hold any longer by wasting away at a junior school.

Especially looking to hear from people who are truly knowledgeable about the college admission process, and these situations. Thanks in advance.

I was always taught to follow up on job applications, so employer know that your serious. But in many cases when I call back, the receptionist says something along the lines of, "they usually call you" , and when i asked if the position was even still available, admitted it wasn't her department, and insisted on curving my efforts to talk to someone who matters.

in the end she took my name to "pass along" or throw in the trash for all i know. Why do they make such a strong effort to undermine the hiring process, and how can I get around them

im applying for an architecture school which only accepts applicants for the fall. Im about to start the spring semester at a junior college, and because of some failed classes, i can either spend this semester finishing my core requirements and getting a degree with a low GPA or repeat the failed classes and have a higher GPA.

which one would bets help me get accepted to a senior college. *note that my current degreee isnt needed for what im studying in the fall*

i was on pet finder and i found a cat that seems like a good match for my sister, and has a temperament i think i can enjoy as well. but the shelter says its located in NC and i live in NY

i know its better to go down the shelter and stuff first, but is it possible for them to "mail" it, or would i really have to travel all the way out there?

basically, im a dog person, but have no problem with cats, and would like to get a dog/cat for my sister, but i know i will end up taking care of it, and given my current living condition. a cat would be easier to take care of.

so what breeds of cat are the most dog-like in personality, as in sociable, playful, maybe even responds to name?

I recently applied for a job at one of the major cell phone companies(retail) and i have extensive experience in related fields, and feel good about being hired except:

about a year ago i had a deliguent account with this same provider, i was on 2 - year plan and after about 8 months of on-time payments, changes in employment and school i couldn't afford it anymore, and it went well into deliquency before it was finally closed.

can they use this to prevent me from getting hired?

I have way too much stuff in my pocket all the time, all of which i need, today while pulling out my cellphone I accidently dropped some cash bring this weeks total pocket loss to $65. this is extremely frustrating considering im already a pretty broke college student.

how do you guys "manage your pockets"

btw. i NEED to fit my money, credit cards, id cards, keys, two cell phones and an ipod, and a chapstick

I had surgery to correct an umbical hernia about 2 years ago, and noticed that it did not heal as it should have, besides an obvious scar for incision, there is hardness behind the muscle, a bulge of "tissue?" around the area, it looks really weird ( much like the swelling that is seen 3 weeks post surgery)

I spoke with my surgeon today, and he failed to give me any sort of useful information on what the hell happened, simply responding it usually heals flat, and even suggesting i work out "one side of my abs"

,obviously ridiculous, i would like to know what is this "tissue", how did it get there and, how do i get rid of it?

Also if anyone knows a site where you can "ask a surgeon" please post, id like to get a second opinion without waiting 3 months for an appointment and getting a similar BS answer.

the basic plot was there were some talking animals, and then a chemical truck crashed on the road, and all the gas leaked out.

i usually wear baggier jeans, and kinda grew out of it so looking for more of a fitting fit (not those gay *** skinny jeans). but having a little size trouble. my waist is 29-31 but most jeans i pick up in the style that should look right, wont make it my quads. is there some third measurement im missing, also what cut and all that should i be looking for my body type.

both can be pretty annoying, but cat people take the cake, i swear if i get emailed anymore cat photos with the little jokes on them im gunna run over the next cat i see and leave it on the owners doorstep.

ive noticed for a while now that i get lied to A LOT. personally for w/e reason im very good at telling when people are lying to me, and when i look into it im right about 95% of the time but i dont usually call people on it unless i have proof or its just dead obvious. (quite often they continue fabricating and trying to manipulate b/c i havent called them on it)

anyway, i noticed that people lie to me a lot, friends family, strangers, and its really irritating . and i really starting to lose trust in people.

any one else ever feel this way.

I recently measured my body fat percentage using an electric tester and its says that im at about 10.78% body fat, yet i'm still a little flabby around the abdomen, which drives me to the conclusion that ALL my fat goes to my stomach, what would it take to get rid of that?

**note im fairly active, run about 20-30 min 2-3 times a week @ 6-7 min /mile pace and hit the weights about twice a week.

I read this article today in the New York Times concerning Palin. and only scares me more to see her on a republican ticket.
