csscmom -- Mom of 4
I'm 42 years old and have been with my husband for 20 years and married for 15 yrs with 4 kids -- 12, 10-1/2, 7 (only girl) and 5-1/2. I've been lucky enough to be a WAHM for most of their lives. Since my schedule has always been flexible, I've volunteered as Team Mom Coordinator for their baseball league, am a member of the School Advisory Council and volunteer in the classroom. I say what I mean and I mean what I say. I know that are raising our children to be strong, independent people while still having empathy for others.
Need info on best ipod for middle school student?
I'm thinking of getting my middle schooler an ipod and docking station for Christmas and don't know enough about them. Any input on size, style, tune size, etc. would be appreciated so that I can see what I'm up against. Thanks for helping!
2 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agoDo you think the guys on AI are better than the girls?
After 2 weeks of shows, it seems to me that the guys this year are more talented than the girls. Is it song choice or do the guys have more talent. I can't tell yet...it's just an interesting observation.
Agree or disagree and why.

who don't RSVP to invitations for their children to attend parties? I have noticed that since we have moved to Florida, I don't get people RSVPing for my children's parties, even when I write "Please call or email whether you will be attending or if you can't make it." When we lived in New York, 95% of the people would respond and it's like 10% in Florida (and I am being kind).
I have stopped parties for the older ones because you have to guarantee like 15 people and I'm never certain if that many will respond. It's frustrating and extremely rude.
Not only is it rude, but I don't understand why they would "teach" their children that this is okay. Additionally, we have had people just show up and I had no idea they were coming -- thankfully I had more than enough to accommodate them.
If you don't RSVP, please tell me why you don't.
8 AnswersParenting1 decade agoWhy don't kids (or parents) seem to want to do....?
sleepovers any more? My 11 yr old and 9 yr old seem to be in the minority when it comes to sleeping over at friend's houses. Most, not all, of their friends are "afraid" of spending the night away from their parents. Also, my 6 and 4 yr old have slept over at friend's houses and love it.
I was just curious if this is now becoming the norm in our society -- children being made to feel afraid of leaving their parents and parents afraid of letting their children sleep somewhere else. One parent even went so far as to tell their 10/11 yr old the reason was "because if he does, he will be raped." What the heck? It's like she is trying to make her child afraid of the world outside his door.
2 AnswersParenting1 decade agoDryer isn't heating and...?
all of the fuses, relays and heating element have been professionally checked and are working properly. The electrical outlet is putting out 220 and the machine is receiving the 220 appropriately. It's an Inglis by Whirlpool.
What the heck is wrong with the machine? I really can't afford a new one, so please help?
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoJust curious if anybody else has ever had a kitten ...?
suckle off a male cat. I mean that the male cat actually allows the kitten to do so. We have a male cat who allows the kitten (who east food and drinks water) to suckle since we had to give away it's mom.
Like I said, just curious. Thanks.

McCain and his speech were a class act? He was eloquent and I loved when he said "my President." Thank you Sen. McCain!!
6 AnswersElections1 decade agoDuring this election, does it bother anyone else that it seems only Palin's wardrobe costs have been .....?
discussed in the media, yet I don't seem to recall the media ever covering what any male politician's suits cost? I'm voting for Obama and don't like the Repulican ticket. However, I just think that this is ridiculous and sexist. Any thoughts?
35 AnswersElections1 decade agoHow come McCain's age hasn't been an issue, but Obama's "inexperience" has been?
It seems to me that both are an issue, but inexperience can be overcome with knowledgeable and strategic appointments (like Joe Biden). Sen. McCain will be 72 if he took office in Jan -- the same age Ronald Reagan was in his 2nd term when he started falling asleep in meetings. What are your thoughts on this?
I would prefer to hear intelligent responses, but know that this will not be the case.
