  • Has anyone ever told you to "check your privilege"?

How did you feel when it happened? Do you find it ironic that the phrase infers you don't have the privilege to speak your mind? I had good parents that worked for everything they had. My parents didn't inherit any fortune. I was provided what I needed that's it. I don't understand the phrase. Am I wrong to be upset with this?

  • What political party do I belong to?

    1. I care a lot about the environment, honestly escaping to nature has helped me get through some of the hardest times and I care about the quality of the air I breath and the water I drink.

    2. I support the military because I'm aware that evil exists and there are those who wish Americans harm and I'll support anyone who willingly puts their life on the line to protect the constitution which in turn allows me to be whoever I want.

    3. I agree with the constitution fully because I believe America didn't become the world's most powerful nation by luck.

    4. I believe in the right to bear arms because the only reason one of my friends is alive is because he was allowed to carry a gun when someone tried to rob him at knife point. I also enjoy shooting as a sport.

    5. I believe racism is inexcusable and if it is as prevalent as the media would have me believe then I fully support it being addressed peacefully.

    6. I don't think socialism is the answer to America's problems.

    7. I do think immigration laws, as well as all other laws, should be enforced for various but obvious reasons.

    8. I hate the idea of the government being in my business or watching me.

    9. I believe people should be able to marry whoever they please because it doesn't impact me in the slightest. However I do think looking for Christian bakeries to sue and get rich off of is very inappropriate and reprehensible.

    10. I believe Muslims should not be persecuted because of their faith as well as all religions.

  • Has anyone found a method to avoid having panic attacks after smoking marijuana?

I know the obvious answer is to not smoke at all. Which I haven't for over a year because of panic attacks that made me feel like I was going to suffocate to death or have a heart attack. I'm ok with abstaining from it if need be, but since I've read that it's not an entirely uncommon occurrence I was wondering if anyone has found a possible solution to it.

If you disagree with marijuana use that's fine, no need to post at all. However, since health, nutrition, and naturopathic medicine is what I specialize in I know the dangers that chronic stress possesses and marijuana is and ideal solution no matter how you look at it given it's effectiveness and safety. Now this option has been taken away from me and I am at a loss. Any advice would be very appreciated.

  • Could we help some countries in Africa if the United States really wanted to?

I know there are a multitude of problems like warlords, corrupt governments and all that good stuff but with all of the resources in Africa it seems like it would be worth the time to establish a functioning democracy there and possibly improve the lives of the people there.

  • Being a liberal is the BEST isn't it?

RACISM. INCOME INEQUALITY. CLIMATE CHANGE. TAXES TAXES AND MORE TAXES. I just feel so much better after yelling those phrases at my conservative neighbors here in Georgia. There is nothing better than bringing up problems that our political party has created and offering absolutely NO solutions to them.

SAME SEX MARRIAGE. Sorry I forgot a big one. I'm not gay and I have no idea what it's like to be gay but you can bet your conservative a$$ that I love gays with my whole heart and understand them perfectly. I think it's probably because I'm not gay that I have the right to speak for them. Blacks too. I'm as white as sour cream but I have the right to speak for the black community because I've shouldered their burdens somehow. I shook hands with Al Sharpton and Snoop Dog for one. I wouldn't dare protest with them, they scare the hell out of me, but I'm making a difference!

Stupid conservatives, even though you're not wrong I've rehearsed thousands of lines and catch phrases to make it seem like you're wrong in any given argument. I've been taught to think for myself during my higher education you dumb racist hicks. That's why all of us liberals think and say the same thing. If you think for yourself it's obvious that everyone would come to the same liberal conclusion. You conservative pigs are just lesser beings. Don't get me wrong I believe all humans are equal, just not those who disagree with me. Except minorities, they know better then me. Liberals Unite! YAY!

  • Is the "Black Lives Matter" movement viewed as a good group of people?

I attended a protest and what I saw was malicious, malcontent. People who just wanted a reason to be angry. I looked at a website that claimed to be the official "Black Lives Matter" website and it was pretty radical. I'm all for equality and racism needs to be addressed. Is there a different more peaceful group I could get involved with? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

  • Is racism really as prevalent as the media would like us to believe?

I've seen racism before, I would be lying if I said it didn't exist. However, the places that I have seen it tend to be in very poor areas. I can't recall anytime that I've seen it outside of areas that happen to be diverse and poor at the same time. But as you all probably know, not long ago there was a string of stories that seemed to ignite racial tension between the black and white communities. But anyways, is there hard evidence to support the idea that racism is oppressing the black community? Are there really companies that won't hire blacks? Are there shops and grocery stores that won't sell to blacks? Is there evidence that white folk are the reason for blacks murdering each other? Small children and babies included? Is there evidence that white folk make blacks commit crimes? Please send me some reliable sources. I will believe you if you can find me a news report or article that makes this clear.

  • Can anxiety keep you from getting drunk?

So I used to be able to get really drunk. To the point where my vision was so bad I could hardly read a dinner menu 6 inches away from my face. But now after developing anxiety I can down a bottle of Jameson and it s like my mind won t allow myself to lose control anymore. Same goes for Mary Jane, took over a year break from pot, expected to get really high, and it just didn t happen. Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips? I would really like to be able to just let go and unwind. And no I m not trying to boast about some super high tolerance. I have verified this from others and its concerning to me. It s very annoying socially.

  • Would you agree that Japanese is a more complex language than English?

I'm not a professional linguist and a complete novice when it comes to understanding the Japanese language but from the little studying I have done it seems to be vastly more complex than the English language. If that is the case, do you think learning Japanese as a children, as people in Japan obviously do, gives them edge intellectually? Given that intellectual feats accomplished as a child have a drastic impact on that person's mental prowess in the future.

  • Do you think that people are more satisfied with accepting popular opinions rather than searching for the truth behind issues?

Everyone seems to live their lives based on opinions these days. An opinion seems to imply, in my mind, that there is no truth to whatever the particular topic is. But many of the particular issues that are so hot today are not some abstract, philosophical problems. They are real, tangible issues and in my mind that means there must be an answer/truth behind the issue. Idk what exactly I'm trying to say. I just feel that the truth is the truth, it's indisputable by its definition. Truth is what's real, so that makes a life ruled by opinions what? I apologize for the rant but all I see today is people arguing, people that have no interest in the truth. Maybe because truth would stop the arguing. Is it boredom? A desire for conflict? Idk, maybe this is just my opinion lol. What do you think?

  • Will the severity of hate created by political division ever decrease?

The internet it a great place to see how bad this is firsthand. I get it, I'm not stupid, people will always disagree, especially when it comes to politics, but man is it viscious these days. I can no longer believe that it's just people will good intentions for this country displayed through different ideologys. I'm convinced that people must get off on the division and malicious rhetoric. Maybe cliché but seriously, this is how empires collapse. Are there people out there able to care about and empathize with someone whom they disagree with politically?

  • Do most of the critics of Christianity really understand Christianity?

Ok first off, this isn't about whether there's a god out there or not. There is no proof on either side of the argument nor will I believe there ever to be proof. So rather than debating whether Christianity's true or not I'm curious why people would display so much hate for a belief that encourages people to love everyone. That's not debatable, it actually says that. Individuals whom I've spoken to, usually on the left side of the political spectrum, often point a finger at the strict rules and harsh punishments of the Old Testament or start spouting nonsense about how the crusades were an accurate picture of Christianity. Where as in the Christian perspective(this might require some empathy FYI) before and during the Old Testament our sins were not paid for by Jesus. There was no permanent answers to our sins and we deserved every harsh punishment we got because we didn't deserve to be alive in the first place and no where in the New Testament will you find any grounds for the crusades. There's a lot more to this but if you really look at Christianity and the New Testament you would see a religion that has nothing to do with hate, violence, discrimination, or anything counted as evil or cruel. I don't understand why its becoming a trend to hate Christianity. Can someone make it clear to me? And please, everyone knows not to judge a group by its hypocrites so don't bring up all the "Christian" racists and radicals.

  • Why is Obama and his cabinet still defended?

It's not a left/right issue anymore. Only the evil should wish demise on this country. I fall on the right side of the spectrum but I know the intelligent on the left want whats best for this country just in a different way. However, there won't be anything left to disagree on if things continue this way. So why can we just agree to oust this maniac?

  • Are corrupt/racist policeman really the problem?

Whether you want to believe it or not; there's not many of them. Anyone understand how police operate? Like at all? Police patrol areas of high crime. Areas with the most crime are the ghettos. Ghettos are obviously filled with poverty. Throughout all of history, high areas of crime are found where people are in poverty, REGARDLESS of race! It just so happens that the ghettos are statistically black in the U.S. and that's the real issue. Not their skin color. If you think it's because of slavery then get your head out of your a**. It's not discrimination; I'm white and have been hated and told I'm incompetent on an individual level, which is worse, simply because you have to compete in America. I've met a lot of people in life, very few are racist these days. I hear about a black man that's successful or a CEO of a big company and I don't think:"Wow, he's black, how the hell did he get there?" And neither do most of the people I know. Black success is not looked down upoun by the majority. Racism was disappearing until people couldn't shut the f*ck up about it. Stop antagonizing this people. Does the KKK still exist? Yeah dumb a** it does, but it's the radical left that's burning crosses these days.
