  • Questions about birth control appointment at Planned Parenthood?

I'm 16 and although my parents aren't against me getting birth control, I'm going by myself and also paying the costs on my own. I don't have insurance but I do have a small part-time job. Since I'm 16 would this count as an income or will they go by my parent's income? Will I have to pay for the appointment/exam and the pills, and about how much will they be?

Also, is there something similar to a co-pay just for the appointment?

I live in Texas, by the way.

    Thank you for your answers!

  • Why don't people fight as hard to make adultery illegal as they do same-sex marriage?

So I'm basically just asking the Christian folk out there. Is there a reason for this? Both are sins right? And adultery is even in the 10 commandments, unlike same-sex marriage.

This is just a legitimate question. If people (Christians, Conservatives, whoever) are trying to with hold the laws and morals of the Bible, why aren't they trying to make cheating on your spouse illegal?

In the Bible, does it literally say that God is "perfect" or something similar.

    Just curious (:

  • Will I get a keloid if I pierce my lip?

I really want a lip piercing, but my mom says that keloids run in my family. I've had my ears pierced twice (once when I was a baby and another time when I was about 9) and I've also had a few deep cuts and none of these things have produced keloids.

I'm obviously not going to be able to get my lip pierced until I'm 18, but I was wondering if it's a good idea? Do you think I'll get a keloid and should I risk it?

  • What gauge strings should I buy? Electric Guitar?

I have an Ibanez RG5EX1 with Edge III tremolo and I play metalcore and hardcore. I've always been told that light strings are better for louder genres, but some people say that you need heavier strings for the Edge tremolo. So I'm confused. I was going to buy .11's but what do you think would be better?

And also what brands do you recommend? Thanks (:

  • What's the best distortion pedal for metalcore?

I play genres like metalcore and hardcore. I have your typical 6-string Ibanez. What type of petal would be the best? Preferably one under the price of $70.

    Thanks (:

  • Can I put a prepaid SIM card in my iPhone?

I have an iPhone 3G and it doesn't have service. It used to have service so it's locked and I guess activated.

I was planning on buying a prepaid AT&T phone, activating it, putting minutes on it and then putting the SIM card into my iPhone. Will this work?

I know nothing about this so any help is appreciated.

Will I have to unlock my phone and will I lose any information (like music, pictures, etc)? Is my phone going to "lock" and stop working?

    Thanks in advance (:

  • What's the point of being Vegetarian?

Not trying to offend anyone (it happens every time I ask this question), but I'm just confused. This is obviously just aimed towards the people that are vegetarian for animal rights.

So most vegetarians don't eat meat but they still eat eggs, milk, gelatin, etc. But isn't that just as bad? Milk, for example, is just a by-product of the veal industry. Chickens that are used to produced eggs are in cramped cages and are practically tortured just like the ones that are killed for McNuggets.

I have a friend that is vegetarian and we argue about this all the time. She says that milk is okay because the cow isn't hurt. But it is. You know, with the hormones that cause infections in the udders and the physical and emotional trauma of having the calf literally torn out and taken less than 24 hours after birth and all of that.

So I just don't understand why people are vegetarian. If you want to do it for animal rights, wouldn't being a vegan be a logical choice. Because milk, eggs, honey, etc. is just as bad as meat. It may not obtained by killing the animal directly, but it does result in death.

Sorry if I sound judgmental or condescending. I have no room to judge because I'm not even 100% vegan yet (it's hard when your parents don't support you and you're too young to work). And I don't think you're a bad person if you chose to eat meat or drink milk. I just want to different opinions, explanations and views.

    Thanks for the answers (:

  • Survey Time!! Banned words of 2011?

So Lake Superior State released a list of "Banned Words of 2011":

    - viral

    - epic

    - fail

    - man up

    - refudiate

    - the American people

    - I'm just sayin'

    - Facebook/Google as verbs

I'm kinda screwed because I use "epic" in every other sentence. But what word or phrase are you completely sick of people using?

  • Poll: New Decade? (20 characterz)?

So am I the only one that realizes that the decade officially ends tomorrow night? That 2010 was the last year of the decade? I'm sick of people telling me that it ended last year. It's like my biggest pet peeve!

    So what do you think?

  • Can I use self-rising flour in this recipe?

I'm following a recipe for cupcakes that calls for pastry flour, all purpose flour, baking soda and baking powder (plus some other stuff). I have everything except the pastry flour. Can I substitute it for self-rising flour or will that mess everything up?

  • Am I the only person that writes in cursive?

Aside from teachers and this one genius kid in my school, I'm the only kid I know that can write in cursive. Everyone complements me on my handwriting and I couldn't believe that no one can write in cursive. Maybe it's because my elementary started teaching us in 2nd grade.

So anyway, does anyone else prefer to write in cursive? And what's your age? (I'm about to be 14)

  • Are ELF products any good?

I'm considering buying all my makeup for school from E.L.F. because it's so cheap. But I'm kinda suspicious. I'm mostly buying eyeshadows and eyeliners. Are their cosmetic good? Do you think they'll stay on throughout the day?

    Thanks(:
