  • dogs stitches opened?

my dog got nuetered 2 days ago and we came home to find that he somehow tore off his cone collar thing and later found that his stitches were completely open (and rather disgusting seeing a gaping hole on your animal). it is too late at night and the vet isn't open. is this an emergency thing or is this something that can wait until the morning? What can we do in the mean time?

  • help! random Ich outbreak in fishtank I don't know what to do!?

I've never had ich happen before in my tank. i wake up today and look in my tank-

2 fish dead, another one coated in white spots (he ended up dying shortly after) and a few more with a few white spots. some fish had none at all. this all happened over night, and lets just say i completely freaked out.

i dont have a lot of extra tanks, but im keeping 3 mollies in a 1 gallon with a heater (the temp is about 80-81) because i hear high temps kill the ich or something, but i am worried at how stressed they seem.

is it the temp or is it the tank size? should i turn off the heater for the night? i dont want to wake up with dead fish or anything...

and a cory catfish (whom has no spots or symtoms at all) in a 5 gallon on his own because it is very important that he stays alive (hes not actually my fish)

otherwise, i left the rest of the fish in my 40 gallon because those are the fish that seem to have the most spots though they dont really have a lot. (half of them even have spots)

I have no more extra tanks to put them in and the nearest pet store is very far away, plus i dont want to have to buy tanks i will not use.

I am going to be away tomorrow and the weekend, and my mom isn't exactly the best with fish, I just really dont know what to do at this point. Please help, what can I do? i am extremely stressed about this. what can i instruct my mom to do at least (that isn't too complicated, like i said shes not good with fish lol)

  • cat peeing around the house and other strange habits?

my big neutered male cat has lately picked up a new habit- peeing/spraying almost around the house. but its strange because we have only caught him doing it really in my room. he will come in, pee, and then leave. its so annoying, we dont know whats happening. we dont know his exact age, hes a rescue, but somewhere around 10-12 likely. is it a health issue? is it some kind of stress? should he be taken to a vet or is t just something to bring up at the next appointment? it is really annoying.

another this is even though he is neutered, he actually masterbates (gross right?) and sometimes.. stuff comes out. basicaly he will knead on the blanket and bite on it and begin to spasm and gets an erection from it. ew it is so nasty. i have heard of other cats doing this too. i have no clue why he does these things. please help!

  • walmart selling 'dwarf puffers'?

I went to walmart the other day and they had puffers labelled as 'dwarf puffers' but in the care description it said they get to 6 inches which I didn't understand. they were all smaller than an inch though. they were really adorable and I thought of getting one, but i didnt know if it was a good idea because of the whole grows-to-6-inches thing. are these actually dwarf puffers?

what kind of dogs are these?

we got these two puppies from a rescue and all we know is there is some kind of terrier in them, but we have no clue what else. the pics of them in the grass were from a long time ago. the one of the boy in the tie is from christmas. the mainly brown one is a girl and the mainly white one is a boy. the one thing we notice with him is that he has a pretty long muzzle. they aren't very big at all. medium sized dogs, i think they are about 35 pounds right now and they are about half a year old. any ideas?

  • can you be allergic to something and still be able to eat it?

I ate grapefruit sometimes when i was younger because my mom always bought them (she loves them) and whenever i ate them they stung in my mouth and sometimes in my throat a little, but i always just thought it was because they are super acidic and sour. now I ate one just moments ago for the first time in a really long time and when i ate it i had the familiar sour stingy kind of feeling like you get when you eat a lemon, but this time, after eating a few pieces of it, my throat started to feel a little swelled feeling. like when i swallowed it was kind of uncomfortable. i finished the grapefruit and afterwards my throat still had the swelled kind of feel (i could breath fine though) and my throat was also making a lot of that nasty thick spit stuff, like phlegm or whatever. any ideas?

  • legs and arms get mottled when cold?

my skin, especially on my legs, gets this weird purplish mottling to it when im cold. it is super annoying because i feel like i can never wear shorts anymore. even if it isnt cold, it will be that way. the only way it isnt is if it is really hot. room temperature is too cold and the mottling shows up. i'm super self conscious about it. I am really really skinny which I assume is why i get cold easily and thats why it gets mottled? is there any way to make this not happen though?? :c

  • I've had knee pain for years, but I'm very young?

(not gonna say exact age) in my early-ish teens, and i have had knee pain ever since I was a kid. I went to the doctor and after like a 5 second look he said it might be jumpers knee. (he literally did like nothing but touch it a tiny bit and ask if it hurt) but i looked more into this jumpers knee and it makes no sense because i am not in sports, i never have been in sports ever at any point in my life. i am the opposite of athletic. i never run or exercise or anything really, but i have this awful knee pain. it hurts most when squatting or going up stairs, and running, after a while it will hurt too. I can not do wall sits or squats or anything like that because of the pain. My friend told me that before going out for sports one test they have you do is where you squat real far down and then walk, called the duck walk or something. I tried it and colapsed because my knees couldn't take it. it is in both knees but most prominently in my right knee. I always have remembered having this pain. it doesn't hurt to the touch though. any thoughts? (my dad has some knee pain too but hes never seen a doctor for it because it wasn't so bad and he didn't get it until he was older).

  • dogs third eyelid is covering her eye?

I noticed this morning that my puppy had a wonky looking eye. Her eye almost seemed to be kind of facing very partially to one side more than the other one. her third eyelid wont go down. when her eyes are open, her third eyelid is halfway covering her eye. it isn't swollen, but it is kinda red. she doesn't seem to be in any pain and is acting perfectly normal. it is really scaring me because it looks really weird, like i said before the only word i can think to describe it would be 'wonky' looking. but she is still acting totally normal. i dont know if it is affecting her vision at all. what is going on? she hasn't had any head trauma as far as i know, but she does play pretty rough with her brother.

  • pain in upper left abdomen?

right below my ribcage on the left side of my abdomen only. i dont know exactly what organ that is? it hurts worst when i lay on my stomach or on my side. It's been happening on and off for the past two days. I might just be paranoid but it almost feels a little more swollen there then on the other side? again could just be my imagination. the pain kind of comes in waves (not throbbing though) like it will be achy and then suddenly it will get really painful for a few seconds and then die down again... it is a sharp achy kind of pain. Sometimes it hurts even more when i breath in

  • can a baby bearded dragon be kept in an enclosure for an adult?

so rather than having to constantly get bigger and bigger enclosures as it grows, can i just keep it in an enclosure that it will be able to fit in comfortably when its an adult? (4ft by 2ft enclosure) or will that be a bad idea? if its hard for it to find its crickets, couldn't i just put it in a seperate, smaller tank for feeding time for a little bit?

  • pain that shoots down arm into fingers?

every now and then i get this weird pain that starts at the beginning of my arm and trails down all the way to my finger(s). It hurts the worst at my finger tips. it is usually only 1 or 2 fingers that are affected, and i could actually draw a line down my arm exactly where the pain is, because its like a really thin area, like a line of pain, but down my whole arm. it lasts for about a minute or two and then goes away. sometimes this pain starts all the way at somewhere on my chest and goes down my arm and into my fingers. its a throbbing, sharp ache type of pain hard to describe. I think it might be something to do with a vein? it happens on both arms. the only reason i think vein is because they are long and thin and the pain goes down my arm in a sort of straight line. It is so weird, what is it?

  • help bearded dragon lighting and heat requirements?

gahh I don't know what to do at this point. I have a 60watt reptile bulb and i tested it out and from about 7-8 inches away from a thermometer and the thermometer read 80 degrees after quite a while. that is not hot enough for the beardies basking, so i thought maybe just using that one as an over all heat source to make the whole enclosure a little warmer and leave it on all day and night? (plan on most likely building my own enclosure so it wont be glass) PLEASE JUST THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO KNOW- CAN YOU SEND ME LINKS (from petco or petsmart only please) OF EXACTLY WHAT BULBS AND LIGHTING I NEED FOR A BEARDED DRAGON ENCLOSURE??
