Types of documents in an epistolary novel?
I'm writing a epistolary novel - which is a novel made up of letters and other documents. I was wondering if anyone could think of other types of communication I could include.
Here are the types I have so far:
- emails
- instant messaging
- texting
- letters
- diary entries
- newspaper or magazine articles
- excepts from books
- blog posts
- post cards
- tweets & Facebook wall posts
So that's all the types I can think of for now. I'd really appreciate if anyone had any other types I could use. Thanks!
1 AnswerBooks & Authors8 years agoDo recommended books often not match your expectations?
I just started reading Howl's Moving Castle after seeing it mentioned on this site hundreds of times since I joined.
And it's nothing at all like I expected.
Not worse, nor better, just completely different.
And it got me thinking that lots of books that I read that have been recommended by people often don't match my expectations. Usually they've talked the book up and I end up disappointed.
I just wanted to know if other people felt the same.
9 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoWhat are you feelings about Quirky Classics?
It started with "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" but now there seems to be hundreds (okay, I'm exaggerating slightly) or altered classic books around.
The other day I saw "Little Vampire Women" and "Android Karenina". There's also the one about the sea monsters that I picked up for under $5 the other day :D
Do you think they're taking it too far? Or do you like the alterations?

14 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWhy do so many people love Dobby?
The silly little houseelf.
I couldn't stand him. I found him irritating and was sort of glad when he wasn't around any more.
Why do people like him so much?
22 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoHave you ever quoted a book you've never read?
The other day I was talking to my dad about something and he started quoting a book that I know for a fact he's never read.
He admitted to knowing nothing about the book but heard the quote on the radio and thought it sounded cool. He's a bit odd like that.
And that got me wondering. Have any of you ever quoted something that you've never read, or seen on TV?
I do it quite a bit I realized.
14 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoDa Vinci code question?
I saw the movie the other day, and I've read the book but can't remember, but why is Mary Magdalene so important?
I get that from her remains they can prove that Sophie is her descendant, but wasn't Mary a prostitute, so any child that she had could have anyone as a father? How were they going to prove that it was Jesus' ?
7 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoHas someone's username made you not answer them?
I just saw someone's username, and it made me really not want to answer them, or at least not answer them seriously.
Do you pay attention to other's names, or ignore them?
11 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoIf someone's question had two parts, would you rather them answer one, or neither?
Because I often answer one part of a question if I only know one half, but I got told off before and told that if I didn't know the entire answer they'd prefer I didn't answer at all.
4 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoHow do you choose what book to read next?
I never know what I should read next, and I'm always looking for stuff to read.
So sometimes I go see what's new on Oprah's book club
Other times I ask friends and family what they are reading.
I was just wondering how people decide what they are going to read next.
15 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoDo you use a bookmark?
I was just wondering if people use bookmarks...
I have a few bookmarks but I usually use the receipts that come with the books after I buy them.
I hate people who just fold down the corner of the page. poor book.
18 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoWhat's a good Stephen King novel?
I know a lot of people here say that he's a great author but I've never read any of his books. I've seen a couple of movies based on his stuff, like Carrie and Shawshank Redemption.
So, I'd just like a recommendation of what's a good book of his for someone who's never read anything by him.

1 AnswerOther - Education1 decade agoNew Bloc Party compared to Old Bloc Party?
The other day I bought a Bloc Party album, Intimacy, and I really like how they sound.
I was just wanting to know if their old albums are similar to their new one or if they have changed their sound.
I guess what I'm really wanting to know is if I love their newest album, do you think I'd like their old stuff too?
3 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoAnyone know any Emo-disco bands?
I was listening to the radio before and they were talking about a new genre called emo-disco but they didn't list any artists or songs that are emo-disco. Does anyone know any bands/songs of this genre?
