  • My cats claws get dirty and stuck?

I have 4 cats, all have their claws. One of them always gets this hard stuff on a couple of the nails on his front paw, so the nail doesn't retract. When he stretches, plays, etc it always gets stuck. Why does he have this problem? I clean it off when I see it but I want to know why he gets it.

  • Cat behavior question! Raised normal, afraid of everything?

My cat is about 8 months old. Her mother was a barn cat we rescued when she was pregnant, the kittens were born in our home and we have kept the mother and 3 kittens. Our home has two adults, and two teenagers, and two dogs. The kittens have not known anything different, and two of the kittens and the mother are normal cats. But one of the kittens is afraid of everyone and everything except me and the other cats! She's never gone through anything traumatic, she spayed and healthy... But she won't let anyone near her except me, and she jumps and runs at everything. Why on earth is she like that?

  • Runt kitten isn't growing?

My cat has a litter of 2 week old kittens. Three weigh about 12oz. and the other weighs...6oz. The others are so much stronger that they push him away while the mom nurses them. I try to help him but I can't be there every time. I also bought KMR but he won't take it. I only get a couple drops in each time I try. Other than that, he acts more alert than the others and is learning to walk before they are. He also has a runny eye but I'm hoping that's not a huge issue. I was in love with him from the start, and I want to keep him for the rest of his life. I just don't want it to end any time soon. What should I do??

  • Mom separated kitten, still nurses him?

My cat has 4 kittens that are 9 days old. This morning she moved 3 of them out of the basket (this almost sounds like a middle school math problem) and into the back of a cold closet on the concrete, so when I found them I moved them back. Just now she moved 1 of the kittens into the back of the closet (the one she didn't move before) and left the 3 in the basket. This kitten is not the runt, and acts very healthy. His eyes are beginning to open, he's crawling around and has a very healthy set of lungs. He cries when he's by himself. Everything I read said that cats move sick kittens so they don't get the others sick or they don't waste their milk on a kitten who is going to die. But she still feeds him when he is not with the others? I really want to call a vet but they are all closed and I don't know what to do.

  • Newborn kitten won't sleep/stop crying?

He is 4 days old and has 4 siblings, and a mother. He's not a runt and I'm pretty sure he's eating fine. After a meal when all the other kittens get in a pile and sleep, he crawls around and cries. Mom will come check on him and that stops the crying for a minute but it's like he can't get comfortable or something. Is something wrong?
