Uncle Pedro
Hey, I'm 19, a freshman at Cal Poly SLO. I usually answer singles and dating questions or words and wordplay questions. I often write songs or poetry and ask for suggestions or comments. Feel free to email me, I check email everyday.
For the website Philo, which let's you watch tv, why does is my account limited 'according to their records'?
The exact message I got was this:
"Although your affiliate login succeeded, your record indicates you'll only have access to a limited selection of over-the-air channels. If this is unexpected, please visit http://support.philo.com/ for more information. You may continue with basic channels."
It is connected through my school, but my roommate is also using it and has full access to more channels and things? How do I get full access, or why is my account limited?

I thought I had heard the expression 'fill out a suit' before, or maybe something similar to that. It basically means that one looks good in a suit, if I remember correctly. Am I right or am I just having a brain fart?

1 AnswerOther - Visual Arts8 years agoWhy do my questions keep getting deleted?
Not all questions, but specifically questions where I ask for advice on something I've written, usually poems. I've never had any deleted before maybe a month ago, and now I can hardly phrase one correctly in order to not get it deleted, what's the deal? And all my appeals haven't been working.

I Don't Know Where
[v1]
The birds will keep chirpin
The world will keep turnin
The sun will set and rise again--
These words will be my song,
I will surely keep on smilin
I will keep on singin
Because I know that somewhere,
These words will carry along
[v2]
The lights will continue shinin--
Things will carry along,
The clouds will keep blowin
And I'll keep breathin,
I will keep on running
Down this open road
Because I know that somewhere,
I'll run into you on the go
[ch]
I don't know where
I don't know when--
Gotta believe me right now,
It's been awhile
But now don't give in--
Gotta know that I won't stop now,
Just smile and think
That you're gonna be okay,
Our roads will cross tomorrow
But I'm thinking of you today
[v3]
The great big sun
Will keep on glowin,
Don't you give in to doubt,
You've made it this far
Will you start slowin,
Don't you forget me now,
The world won't pass us by
Till we collide,
If it isn't today
Then wait through tonight
[v4]
I can hear you breath
Feel your thoughts and dreams
Tumbling around your mind,
I can feel your heart soar
As you're heading out the door
Putting a smile on because
[ch]
I don't know where
I don't know when--
Gotta believe me right now,
It's been awhile
But now don't give in--
Gotta know that I won't stop now,
Just smile and think
That you're gonna be okay,
Our roads will cross tomorrow
But I'm thinking of you today
[v5]
Don't let the storm
Cause you to hide,
Don't the thunder
Keep you up at night,
Don't worry because
I'm holding you tight,
Keep dreaming girl
And you'll be just fine
[v6]
When the evening fades
And all goes away,
When the candle gets snuffed
And you think you've had enough,
When you're heart breaks
Because you thought there was a change,
When you're breaking down
Letting your tears pour out
[ch2]
I don't know where
I don't when
But I'll be there
Just don't give in,
Put those tears away
And the rest of your pain,
Our roads will cross tomorrow
But I'm thinking of you today
[br/end]
Smile because I smile,
Wait, just a little while,
Soon, you will see,
That you always had--
You always had me

Out to the Sea (written by UnclePedro)
Last year's winter has hardly gone,
The waves have broken and sun fades dark,
Oh that someone who was singing
Singing slowly to me,
She carries me, carries me out to the sea
Fingerprints lay fresh on glass,
The table's set and waiting,
The sky falls and swallows me
Swallows me whole
Swallows me and spit into the sea
Reflection burns upon my mind
Her eyes flash like headlights
Oh she speaks softly, quietly
Softly singing to me,
And she brings me, brings me to the sea
Breath to me,
Sing your words, breath
I want to feel the splash of the sea
Laying me down, down in the deep
Last year captured in a frame,
The memories are starting to fade
And I'm trying to remember
Remember your face
Speak, speak sweet to me
Waves, crashing waves, smelling so sweet
Washing my hands, tickling my feet,
And I have to wonder,
How did I lose such a sweet, sweet,
Sweet flower for me
Speak to me,
Sing your words, speak
I want to feel the cold water beneath
Laying me down, down in the deep
Petals waving, saying goodbye
The train left yesterday, a quarter to five
But she took my heart with her
Threw off her disguise
Ran away leaving a trail of her lies
And I trying to breath, Breath the breathe you left me
But you forgot to untie me, I'm being dragged from behind
Choking on your sweet, sweet, sweet
Sweet words from that night
Will somebody hold me and tell me that I'm fine
Moonlight shines out on the sea
Illuminating the ocean's disease
All this wonder, splendor, somehow missed me
Tangled and ruptured with her sweet, sweet,
Sweet whispers for me
Leave, just leave,
Do you worst, please
I want to feel the thoughts of sea
Laying me down, down in the deep

What do you think of it? What do you like/dislike? Last poem I posted got reported for whatever reason, maybe because I wasn't asking a question? Am I asking enough questions now? Thanks feedback is appreciated.......... (?) ridiculous lol
The Divide
She whispered that night
Words clinging onto the breeze,
Her lips sang it into motion,
Her eyes called out to me,
From a distant star,
Reflection of her light,
The wind told me a secret,
Which kept me awake till dawn
The windows are clapping,
Whistling into the night,
Its screams are calming
Because I am a knight,
Twisting and turning,
Darkness depraved of its right,
I stand firm on my feet,
For I know of her words
The mountains will surely shake
And run away in their plight,
I have a treasure that shines,
Seeping through the earth,
The chasms of the doom
Try to scare me too,
They roar curses of thunder
And I smile at their ruse
Her hand, soft as her whisper,
Puts me into my slumber,
The demons are surrounding me,
But they stand back in fright,
The sword that shed their blood
Is held in my grip tight,
It's very light sends them away,
It's very presence hurts their minds
I am a conqueror, a master,
She sees my joy in the dawn,
Take care, sweet child
And hold onto the light,
I know that she sees me
Because I watch her eyes,
Cut by a distance,
Brought together by the night

1 AnswerOther - Society & Culture8 years agoFor the series 1 10 11 100 101 etc, is there a series that mathematically computer this sequence?
So for the set 1 10 11 100 101 110 111 1000 1001 1010 1011 etc (binary), is there a series that exists that calculates this set of numbers, assuming that this must be calculated in a base 10 system?
For instance, for the set 3, 6, 11, 18, 27, 38, etc which would be equal to
an = n^2 + 2
If there was a series that calculated this number, would it have any mathematical significance?

So what I really want to know is the process of how to do the following problem... I'm not looknig for the answer to the problem.
Calculate the mass (in g) of white phosphorous, P4, produced from 565 g of NH4NaHPo4
NH4NaHPO4 (s) -> NaPO3 (s) + NH3 (g) + H2O (l)
Results from evaporation of urine:
8 NaPO3 (s) + 10 C (s) -> 2 Na4P2O7 (s) + 10 CO (g) + P4 (s)
How do I go about doing this problem?

Curious
What carries the soul and lifts it,
Lets it sore in the clouds,
Sleep on the rainbow,
Bask in the sunset's chords,
What hold's man's eyes,
Grips his deepest desires,
Resonates with his mind,
Pushing him to smile
Melodious winds chime this skin,
Strings plucked pull us closer,
Close your eyes, sweep your mind,
Listen and leave reason behind,
Deepest longing and fingers stretch,
Find the treasure of the heart at last,
Dig deeper, hold your breath,
Excitement lives close to death
What invigorates, what is sublime,
Increasing majesty over time,
What is pure, what is smooth,
Breaking softly on the grooves,
Moving figures swiftly trimmed,
Curvaceous lines show beauty bright,
Breathe the cool, chilling night,
Let go and let your soul fly
Curiosity pushes from behind,
Drawn towards the fireflies,
Details foggy, freshly sewn,
Wondering if it could be home,
Swelling within, the heart holds,
The breath inside grows cold,
Blood boils in suspense,
Unveiling of mysteriousness
What calls man from his cave,
Grasps his soul, his stringy veins,
What locks his steps right in place,
Knowing fears will not erase,
Sixth sense pulls him forward,
The will of man falls short,
Senses dull to its calling,
Leaving man dying for knowledge

Red Rose
Red rose, Red rose,
Sing sweet and soft to me,
The thorns are thick in the bush,
But theirs stings are ever sweet,
Burning forth of sweeter taste
Is red that gushes from my face,
Uneasy, the green thorns swirl
Given in the tendril's curl,
Lily's lake shimmers softly,
Her eyes like water's break,
The shore sweeps up her mistakes
And candlelight hides in shame,
Red rose, Red rose,
My, how quickly do thorns grow,
Curving, malicious of intent,
Slicing, swirling malevolence,
Luring those who know not
Of the rose of Camelot
To sweet, sweet slumber,
Singing to let them rot,
Little lids of eyes chirp green,
Infant squeals of merry glee,
Learn fast the reason of the tree,
Climbing, killing to live free,
Red rose, Red rose,
How your petals do entice,
The petals soon carry home
The sleeping woes of your heist,
Red rose, Red rose,
A dream once were you home,
But time has long let go
As poison corrupts your pose
