  • How do I get my 2 year old male german shepherd to gain weight?

It's easier to keep my female fat while she's feeding puppies than is to get his weight up to normal. He does better on "dog chow" than other brands but it's still not good enough. I've dewormed him with safeguard, panacur and parentel pomoate. Right now I'm feeding him an egg a day mixed with olive oil, alfalfa powder and kelp powder and all the dog food and fresh water he wants. Any other ideas?

  • Why does my miniature horse keep coughing?

He's 19 years old. I've tried deworming him with lots of different kinds of dewormers. I've given him cough medicine. It sounds like a dry cough. If he has a rib out, could that cause a cough? He coughs 20 times a day or more and he's been doing it for months. I can't afford to take him to the vet right now and I like doing home remedies as much as possible. I've had him for a year and a half and I've never been able to get his weight up to where I'd like it. I've tried giving him ivermectin, parentel pamoate, panacur, safeguard, wormwood, coltsfoot and fresh garlic. I am feeding him a gallon of grain mix a day(16% sweet feed, 15% rabbit feed, beet pulp and calf manna)and all the hay and fresh water he wants. Any other ideas?

  • How can I get my golden seal plants to grow ?

I can barely get my golden seal plants to make it through the summer. Is there something I can do for them to make them get bigger and shoot out more rhizomes ? I water them almost every day when it's hot and they have a lot of shade. I live in southern Missouri (USA). I'm sure the hot summers are hard on them but I really want to get them to grow. Their leaves shoot up in the spring nice and green but then they start turning yellow and looking sad and they never have red berries in august like they should. They look like they're barely alive in the fall when they go dormant. I've been trying for a couple years and can't get them to do any better.
