Just a good book that is easy to compare and contrast?

This is just something that I've pondered for a while, and would like to see other's point of views.

The equation for work is W=F*d, so if I pushed a box in a circle and it ended in the exact spot as I started, would I calculate the distance I traveled, or the distance from where the box started? If you calculate the 2nd one, then that means that you would have done 0 joules of work! If this is true or not true, please explain?

So I wore some earrings the other day and now my ears are red and itchy and it's spreading to around my jawline and around the edge of my face and also around my eyebrows and eyelids.....why....?

So...I know you might think this is ridiculous but I really really like this guy.... But he's a grade older than me and going to a different high school than me and he's going away in just a few months... But I can't go a day without thinking about him, and I don't know what I would do without him. We're just friends, but I really feel like I've fallen in love with his personality, his looks, his flaws, everything... Anyways he's going away and I might never see him again and I don't want that to happen. He doesn't have a cell phone, and never goes on any sort of social websites....what...do...I...do...? Should I just give up and let him go?

My friend has been a real jerk lately. He has been putting me down a lot, and if I say anything that doesn't compliment him he gets mad and throws everything he can at my face, then goes on about how he's a victim and I'm the bully. He's really smart, well school smart anyways, and he tries to make everybody feel dumb and goes on about who people who care about him are idiots, including me, and has really made me feel bad. Whenever I say anything that includes me being hurt he just says I'm some stupid hormonal teenager. I really at least want him to realize that he's being really rude...

soo I have played violin for about four years now and have noticed some really good violin players can change their direction of bow and still sound like they are playing long notes. I really would like to learn this, and my music teacher is encouraging it, so if anybody can tell me how then well that would be nice.

Me and my science partner are doing a project where we build a 5 inch long toothpick bridge, and we have to try and make it so that it holds lots of weight. We decided we would build either baldimore, pratt, or warren. Which one is the best to use?

so since lots of people don't act like their age on here, I'm just kinda wondering how old are the people on here.....

this is a generalization, no offense meant to be taken.

I've heard so many guys saying they wanted to punch, slap, or kick girls, because girls always to it to guys. What I don't think a lot of them realize though, is that girls are generally much more fragile and weaker than guys, and if a guy hit a girl, it would hurt the girl a lot more than it would hurt the guy. Again, generally. So many guys are saying that they would like to or have hurt girls because they want to get even, but it would hurt a whole bunch more for a girl than a guy.

My friend for some reason all 7th grade year thought I was the reason that his crush didn't like him back, thought I was "slandering" him, took EVERYTHING that wasn't nice like I just punched him in the face for no reason, (not kidding, every time I didn't bow down to him, he started insulting me and put me in the "buddy box") and talks crap about me every time we argue. I seriously don't even know what I did that was so wrong he had to start being a big jerk. I've known this kid since kindergarten, and I know that he doesn't have divorced parents, has enough money for food and a house, and is like the smartest kid in our grade. I don't think he's been abused or anything in any way, besides a little bullying. I don't know what the heck is causing this all of a sudden change in him.

Like stereotypes and stuff like that. Everybody that I've seen talks like they've dated or met every single woman or guy in the world, and they know all. But people just need to face that they will never really know, and they're just going off the few people that they know about.

I'm a girl, so I feel like I should understand, but my skin is naturally tan, so.... I don't know why people want to be brown during the summer.

I can name so many things that are going completely wrong with my life, yet I always focus on the positive.

what I think about: I have two loving parents, a family with enough money to survive, I'm athletic, always get A's in school, and have many friends.

when I could be thinking about: I'm in crutches for something I didn't do for many months, my family's poor, lots of people don't like me for who I am, and there's always some kind of problem for me.

every idiot guy (I understand that not all guys are idiots, I know some nice ones) calls every girl he doesn't like a ho or *****. They say every single girl that doesn't like the fact that they're being judged for what others do is some kind of horrible person. They say that girls are whinny and can't handle things because they're girls. They say that any girl who wants to be equal to other humans is pathetic. I really don't like it. I just want a good reason for this? (I also understand that girls are like this too, and I'm not denying it at all. I just kind of know why. for me, anyways.)
