  • Clarification on my state's 4-H horse show rule book?

Under hunt seat/hunter under saddle, my 4-H horse show rule book says "light contact is required". Does this mean a minimum of light contact is required, or no more than light contact is required? I'm confused.

  • Do you think that the Catholic church worships their religion more than God, why or why not?

Do you think that being "too religious" could be harmful? Could religion sometimes get in the way of having a healthy relationship with God? Can loving your church too much be considered idolatry?

The reason I'm posing these questions is because I have this Catholic friend who listed his "five things that he couldn't live without" on his facebook. One of which was "the Catholic church". You would think that as a Christian, Jesus would be more important than said person's church. I'm sorry but all this kid talks about is the Catholic church and the Pope and he says that Catholics never read scripture in church. This probably sounds dumb but it just got me thinking.

  • How is evolution possible?

When it's based on very little fact and mostly assumption? When evolution scientists don't have facts to support an explanation, they make assumptions. Evolution in itself is an assumption. I genuinely do not blame atheists for supporting the theory of evolution. When you eliminate God from the equation, what other rational explanation for so many complex species is there other than evolution? But it's been over a century since scientists started to accept evolution as fact. Why hasn't someone come up with something a little more logical and fact-based than evolution? So how is it possible? This is not a question of "theism vs. atheism" but of "fact vs. fiction".

    1. What is taught about evolution in classrooms is not micro-evolution, or the gradual change of a species over a long period of time, but macro-evolution, or the change from one type of creature to a different type of creature.

    2. Fossils - No previous ancestor of trilobites has been found. There is also no fossil record of the missing link between man and ape. Fossils of transitional forms, or intermediate species' have not been found.

    3. Adaptation and evolution are different. Adaptation is when an organism changes to fit a change in its environment. For example, if you sat in the sun for a period of time, your skin would turn brown to protect it from further cell damage. Or if you placed a group of desert dwelling lizards in a jungle environment, their offspring would eventually mutate and change size and color to fit the change in the environment. It may look very different, but it's still a lizard. It hasn't changed "kind". I'll guarantee the best answer to someone who can come up with evidence that one kind of creature has changed to another kind of creature.

    4. Which came first, the chicken or the egg? An egg comes from a chicken, but a chicken comes from an egg, or more specifically, a fertilized egg.

    5. Explain symbiotic relationships and how they exist according to evolution.

    6. There is no evidence that a species can change the number of chromosomes within the DNA. Each species has its own distinct chromosome count. If an animal has an odd number of chromosomes because of a deformity, it cannot successfully mate. Take mules for example: they are born sterile because of their odd number of 63 chromosomes. This makes evolving a new species scientifically impossible.

So my basic questions for evolutionists/atheists are:

    1. How is evolution possible?

    2. What came first, the chicken or the egg?

    3. Can you identify an example of one kind of species that changed into another kind of species? Please include the source of your information.

    4. Can you give an example of evidence of an intermediate species? Please include the source.

    5. How are symbiotic relationships possible according to evolution?

  • Fellow Christians, do you agree that everything is not 'black and white' anymore in our society?

In other words, there is not enough separation between right and wrong?

Let's take abortion for example: One might argue "Murder is wrong, but if you get raped, it's not. Fetuses aren't humans anyway".

Another example, the legalization of marijuana: One might argue: "Marijuana makes you dumber, but it can be used to treat certain diseases."

Do you agree that the difference between right and wrong is smudged together and all 'gray area'? Why or why not?

  • Anyone know of any good Creepypastas?

I've been browsing over creepypasta.com for the past few days and I haven't found anything *really* scary. Can someone direct me to a creepypasta that's really scary, like scary enough to make me crap my pants?

  • My cat likes root beer floats?

Last night, I was eating/drinking a root beer float and my cat was sitting next to me. I was holding my spoon and sipping my float and I didn't notice at first, but my cat started licking the spoon. She seemed to like it because she was staring at me the whole time I was drinking my float. When I finished my float, I gave in and let my cat lick the spoon. Is this normal behavior or should I be concerned? Are there any health risks I should be concerned about?

  • Would this be an appropriate topic for my 4-H horse project demonstration?

I have decided to talk about the modern uses of Welsh Cobs for my 4-H demonstration. Would this be an appropriate topic for my demonstration, or is the subject too specific and not broad enough?

  • If atheists do not believe in an ultimate Creator, where exactly do they think the world came from?

A few questions for atheists to explain their thinking:

    - How do you think earth came to be?

    - How old do you think earth is?

    - Explain why earth is the only planet with life.

    - Do you believe in the evolution theory an the big bang theory?

    - Why do you think humans are the dominant species on earth? Do you think some animals will also have a dominant thinking in the future with evolution?

    - Do you believe that humans have a soul? If so, why do humans have a soul and animals do not?

  • Can you get penalized in a 4-H show for being too tall for your horse?

I'm 5'9'' and I'm competing in hunt-seat equitation on a 13.2 hand(this measurement may not be entirely accurate; she wasn't measured this year) welsh cob. It doesn't say anything about this in the rule book, but will judges penalize you for being too tall in proportion to your horse?

  • how do i enter my cell phone number on snapchat?

This may seem like a dumb question, but it won't let me enter my cell phone number. Hyphens don't come up, so I just enter my number without spaces, periods, hyphens, etc(they don't come up). I hit save and a popup comes up saying, 'that is not a valid mobile number'. I also tryed it using pound signs and commas in between, but that doesn't work either. Am I missing something?

  • Why does my cat eat inedible objects and how can I make her stop?

Ever since my cat got two of her teeth pulled because of gingivitis, I've noticed that she had been vomiting a lot. I always thought it was because she wasn't chewing her food properly. One day I saw that she had vomited up a bag twisty. We can't buy her feather or ribbon toys anymore either because she eats them. She also eats plastic, but I know that's normal because of the gelatin. Does anyone have an explanation for why she does this and how I can make her stop?
