  • Recommend a video camera replacement?

I currently have a Canon camcorder that records onto disc. This is an older model, about 5 years old. I use it to record the finish of bicycle races and it works ok for that. Video has come a long way in 5 years and I am looking to get something that works better. There are a few must have features.

    1. sports mode that can capture fast motion

    2. record in HD

    2. as large a video screen as possible, 4" + would be nice

    3. it must be able to do slow motion playback. Frame by frame would be even better.

    4. record to SD card

I tried a kodak HD ZX3, but it failed miserably. The shutter is too slow, so everything is blurred and it can't do slow motion playback. Same thing with my cell phone camera. My budget is right around $400. I'm hoping to find something suitable before the spring.

  • Who makes a high res panel laptop at a reasonable price?

I'm still surfing on my 8 year old dell. Over the years I have upgraded the machine, but I think it is time to get a new laptop. The main reason I have held onto this computer as long as I have is that it has a high resolution screen. After using a a high res screen it is hard to go back to a 1024X768 panel, which is what most laptops have. I see lots of $400 laptops with specs that are more than adequate for my needs, but they all have low res screens. I don't mind paying extra for the high res screen, but that only seems to be an option on the more expensive models. Does anyone make a laptop with a high res screen, 1920X1080 or better, that is in the $500 price range?

  • Is there a high res panel for a IBM think pad T41?

I recently got an IBM Thinkpad T41. Power wise it is adequate for my needs. But, the screen resolution is pretty low. Did this computer have an optional higher resolution panel? Can I just swap in a higher res panel or would I also need a new video card?

  • Is it possible to revive a dead laptop battery?

I have a laptop I got as a gift a while back. When new I used it a couple of times and then put it away as I had another computer to use. Now two years later I take it out and the battery seems to be completely dead. The computer runs when I plug it in, but dies the second I pull the plug. Is it possible to revive this hardly used battery?
