Why is file uploading on YahooGroups not working, and why can I only open non-PDF files?

I'm a moderator, and have uploaded files to my Yahoo Group many times by doing the following steps:

Click on Files > Folder Name > Add File > Browse

Doubleclick on the file from my computer,

Type in a description,

Select the box under notification (i.e., send a message to the group announcing this file)

Then click "Upload File."

Usually the file uploads just fine, but recently, all that happens is that the file name disappears from the browse window, and nothing else happens.

The file I want to upload is WAY under the 5000 KB size limit,

and the YahooGroup is only using 67 % of its 100 MB capacity.

I have tried uploading a variety of files (PDFs, Word Documents, Excel files, all with no luck),

Deleting some old files works.

Opening current files only works if it is NOT PDF.

What is wrong?

FYI, it is a members-only group, and not one open to the general public.

I want to make a similar set of flashcards, but with an evil genius theme.

I am hoping to create 26 cards, one for each letter of the alphabet with a word and a picture but need some help coming up with ideas. I especially want words that would be useful if one were teaching a baby to take over the world.

I have D is for diabolical, M is for minion, U is for underground, L is for lair, T is for trap, H is for henchmen, S is for secret weapon, R is for rocket...

but I could use help coming up with more (or better) words for each letter.

I have tried posting this question in other categories without much luck.

I hope people reading this category can provide more clever answers.

I know it sounds weird, but I an teaching my baby to read, and want to make some flashcards for him. Instead of the boring, traditional "A is for Apple, B is for Banana," etc., I wanted to do something a little different, mostly just for fun for me and my husband and to amuse (and shock) our houseguests, most of whom have a healthy appreciation for science fiction and for the crazy sense of humor my husband and i share. He's a physics major and suggested I post our request under "Physics" where I might find people who would actually answer the question instead of just laughing their heads off.
