  • Why does the pilot switch keep needing reignited for my 5 month NEW gas pack unit?

We bought a Rheem gas pack & AC combo unit in June, 2014 and had it professionally installed because the A/C went out on our old unit which was over 12 years old.

Well, lately we have had need to use the heat portion of this unit. Worked fine until last night when we woke up in the middle of the night to find the house at 63 degrees but the temp on the thermostat at 72. We trouble shot by turning the temp up, nothing. Turned the fan on --- it blew. Turned the A/C on, it worked. Then tried the heat again, nothing. Finally, we followed manual directions and re-started the pilot switch and had heat again.

We left the house today for errands, came back and again, no heat, house at 63 degrees. Reflipped the pilot switch and have heat again.

Question: What would cause the pilot switch to continue to flip off?

We have a call to the company where we bought it but, I was informed because we didn't have a service agreement and only the manufacturer warranty for parts/labor, they'd probably get back to us Monday.

A little frustrated and want answers... this is too early for issues.

  • What kind of faux finishing did a decorator use on the walls and where do I find a tutorial to do it?

Toured a home for sale today. Heard an interior designer owned it but agent didn't know her name. LOVED the ceilings and walls. They were faux finished.

Walls in foyer had what looked like tissue paper texture with tissue paper flowers (embossed kinda but you could tell it was an overlay of some kind) and then sponge painted over it. Do you know what this type of faux finish is called and where I might be able to find a tutorial?

ALSO, ceilings in certain rooms looked like they had been glazed in a metallic paint. Really pretty. Is there another paint affect similar to glazing that this could be and if so, where would I find tutorials or, what would I search online?

  • Hypothetical question on car insurance (go over mileage in the year and then get in accident)?

This is purely hypothetical, but Im curious to know (plan to go see my agent tomorrow)

So I have State Farm insurance. When I got my vehicle (bought used from my grandma). I transferred insurance from my former vehicle to my new one. I signed up for the 12K miles per year plan. No accidents since.

Well, then I worked for a company that required I drive my car a lot (yes, I was paid mileage).

In any case, NOW I have a company vehicle and haven't driven my personal car in so long the battery is dead and it's sitting in my driveway unused.

So last week (as I was renewing my insurance -- 6 month policy), I went to state farm and asked them to reduce my mileage from 12K to 7500/year (save a little money).

In any case, apparently in 2012 when I got my car it had 86K miles. Now it has 127K -- obviously way over the 12K/year plan I had originally signed up under.

Now the car is insured for 7500 miles per year and I wont even come close to driving it that much, if at all, but here is my question...

Hypothetically, if I drive my car and have an accident (my fault) and the mileage is well over the 12K added up each year until now, what happens? Am I 'not insured' or what? I do plan to go speak with my agent tomorrow but at this point, I don't know what it means.... still no accidents, but I want to take care of things before I get in an accident and then am potentially told 'sorry, you went over your allowed mileage -- you are SOL"

    Thanks.

  • I wrote a poem and I need it to be grammatically edited, please.?

Just found out my mom has inoperable cancer. I wrote this poem the night they told us. I would like to have it checked for errors, thanks.

Title: This tear I have here.

A tear for you, I shed today

A tear for dad, I meant to say

A tear for my brother, I made today

A tear for me, I lost this day

A tear for the grandkids, for what they don’t know

A tear for the thoughts that haunt me so

A tear for the news, I never fathomed to learn

A tear for the day that we may come to mourn

A tear for the memories I hold close to my heart

A tear for the moments of fear that I’ve fought

A tear for the pain, for the agony it’s caused

A tear for the medicine--the most crucial part

A tear for God’s word to comfort us so

A tear for the day we uttered the word

A tear for the time that’s been ripped from us all

A tear for this crap that’s not fair for your soul

A tear for the love that we have shared through the years

A tear for the life that we hold reverently dear

A tear for the people who we have begun to draw near

A tear for the friendships and the hopelessness we all feel

A tear for the plan that we hope bides us time

A tear for the simple pleasures, both yours and mine

A tear for the circumstances as they are

A tear for the future that is not ours to hold

A tear for the hair that will probably fall

A tear for the years filled with wonder and joy

A tear for the faith of God’s solemn word

A tear for the hope to see another days’ mourn’

A tear for the strength to endure what may come

A tear for the marriage – ‘til death do us part

A tear for the prayers that may go unfulfilled

A tear for the people we hold very dear

A tear for the wishes we wish we could make

A tear for the angels to sing you God’s grace

A tear for the trials of a life so-so dear

A tear for you mom, this tear I have here.

  • How will the 2012 tax credit apply to my family?

I am trying to understand the 2012 adoption tax credit.

Let's say I hypothetically pay $7K to the fed's in taxes this year. I adopted a special needs child who became finalized in March, 2012. The adoption tax credit is upto $12,600. I paid out of pocket $8800 to adopt my child who is defined as 'special needs'.

If I paid $7K to the IRS, does that mean I will receive a refund of $7K because my liability will be reduced to $0 because of the credit and then can carry the remaining $5,600 to the next year or, am I understanding this wrong.

I typically receive a refund for 'overpayment', but Im trying to determine how this will affect the amount I am refunded this year.

  • How many years back do companies check motor vehicle records?

The state I live in offers 3 year and 10 year options. Do companies automatically check the longest allowed or, do they typically only check 3 years back? I have nothing in the past 3 years, but I do have a couple tickets 10 mph or less within the last 10 years so Im wondering. Thanks!

  • I was offered a job which provides a company car pending MVR, what will they look for?

I have been offered a pretty lucritive new position. One of the perks is a company car and until I select one, a car allowance. BOTH contingent on 'passing' the Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) history requirement.

I havent had an infraction since 2009 however, if they pull a 10 year history report vs. a 3 year report I had 3 moving violations (total) for 10mph or LESS which carried 2pts. each from 2007-2009. I also had a 4pt. failure to stop at a stop sign in 2007.

NO CURRENT POINTS are on my license as every thing has 'fallen off'. I pulled my report tonight and that's every thing it showed for 10 years.

Not really sure what to expect or, what they are 'looking for'. Do you think I 'passed'??

Answers from H.R. personell or people who really know the answer to this question is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

  • How should I install my click-lock wood flooring?

I am installing the click-lock flooring myself with the assistance of my father who has major wood working experience but has never installed wood floors before and a couple friends who actually are sales people at a wood flooring company and have installed their own flooring.

My delimma is that I am installing in my kitchen/dining combo, large living room, and then hallway leading to my back bedrooms. When you walk in to my house you are immediately in my living room. About 12 ft. up is the hallway on the right that is 'L' shaped. To the front is an archway leading in to an open kitchen/dining combo. The livingroom has a gas fireplace in the left corner of the room.

I was thinking I definitely need the flooring to run long ways in the dining/kitchen area as it would look odd otherwise. But doing that would mean the flooring in the living room would be horizontal to the entrance which Im not so sure Id like but would if I did that, it would run straight in the hallway.

I was considering a 'threshold plank' (dont know what its called) under the archway to separate the two spaces and have the living room run vertical and then the kitchen/dining area horizontal and then run the hallway the same as the living room but I dont want any area to seem chopped up and it may make the hallway choppy doing that.

So, Im wondering, how do I install the floors appropriately???

My home sits on a crawl space and my joists run vertical to the front entrance, but Ive read it doesnt much matter for click-lock?

Suggestions to make things look right?

  • Are you limited to straight talk phones when you use straight talk?

I know very little about electronics. I have heard however that you can buy a AT&T phone and use a Straight talk sim card to operate it as a straight talk phone?? How is this done?? And, do you get the same service, etc.??

  • What is your opinion of Straight talk phone service?

I am thinking of switching from my current cell phone provider to straight talk. Before going through the hassle of switching though, I want to make sure it will be provide as good of service as my current provider, Verizon.

I hear that the straight talk phones in my area bounce off Sprint towers. So, I guess my question is, how have you liked straight talk phones: pros, cons and then, if you've had sprint prior, how did you like that service providers cell range?

    Thanks.

  • when is my infant seat too small for my kid?

My daughter is in an infant seat. The kind that comes with the stroller that a newborn would use. A friend of mine, who's daughter is 9 months old said her doctor is recommending she switch to a convertible in the next month. Her daughter is 24" tall. Mine is 30" tall and 10 months, almost 11 months old. She fits in the seat and it buckles but Im curious, even though my doctor hasnt said any thing, if she has outgrown it and I just didnt know what to look for.

Please help! When is she 'too big'/ 'too long' for these?? I searched online but couldnt find specifics. Thanks!

  • My 9 month old sways her head in a snake motion and is starting to clap her hands on her head, why?

At first it was cute and we thought it was funny. Now Im concerned it might be a potential neurological problem?

I have a (soon to be adopted by us) daughter who sways her head to music. She has been assessed as above average to advanced for her age, already. When she watches TV and hears music she claps and bopps her head to the beat or, sways her head in a snake like motion. At first it was ONLY to music and we thought it was music related, but now she is doing it more and more.

Last night she was clapping her hands and then reached behind her head with both hands (as if she was an adult laid back in a chair with her hands on each side of the back of her head relaxing) and then brought her hands around to her ears and started smacking her hands (one on each side) on her ears and head. I got her to stop, but she started doing it again -- going straight for clapping her hands on her head.

I mentioned things to daycare this AM and they said she does the head swaying at daycare but hasnt clapped her hands on her head.

Im just wondering if its normal. Its occuring without music now and the clapping on the head happened later in the evening while she was watching TV.

Any ideas why she's doing this? I dont think its because she is tired and she didnt appear frustrated. Maybe bored? Suggestions and advise please. Also, how do I know this isnt neurological by nature? I plan to talk to her pediatrician, but am looking for a response in the mean time. Thanks!

  • Medicaid health insurance for my kids -- financial question, please help!?

I am separated from my husband. We file taxes jointly because we are still married, just separated. My annual income is $35K/year. Combined our income is nearly $70K. We have 3 children, so a family of 5? With me and the kids, a family of 4. My husband and I, without the courts, agreed to $600/month child support which gives me an overall income of $42,200. Which is BELOW the family of 4 size 200% federal income level.

My employeer offers health insurance, but my kids have never been covered because I can not afford $1K month for the plan.

    My questions:

Can I qualify for medicaid health insurance for my kids, if my husband and I are separated and MY income is below the 200% federal income cap for a family of 4?

Or, would they still consider us a family of 5?

Would we need to file taxes separately so we arent considered a family of 5?

What do I need to show to qualify? Thanks.

  • Do twins develop slower than 1 fetus?

I saw 1 gestational sac @ 5weeks, 3 days pregnant. I saw 2 yolk sacs at 7 weeks, 1 day pregnant. I go back tomorrow (8 weeks,1 day) to HOPEFULLY see fetal poles/heart beats. At the time of my 7 week ultrasound I was measuring at 7.5 weeks. Because there was progress between the 1st and 2nd ultrasounds, the ultrasound tech and dr. didnt seem horribly concerned and told me to come back in a week.

Ive just read a lot about heart beats being seen by now and am wondering if twins develop more slowly? If its possible my babies will still develop even though I know when I ovulated and I know how far Im measuring etc. is now 8 weeks and 7 weeks at the time I had my last ultrasound?

The ultrasound tech said my yolk sacs were measuring a good size and did not look abnormal, if that matters.

I am not having strong pregnancy symptoms. I occasionally feel a 'pulling' stretch type sensation in my stomach and my breasts are slightly tender and I am tired, but otherwise, Im fine. Im taking progesterone support because I had previous miscarriages but they all occured by 5 weeks pregnancy so Im hoping for a positive pregnancy outcome this time.

If I dont see something this time what will it be termed 'missed miscarriage?'

Just wondering if any one else had similar and a good outcome?

    Thanks.

  • what do you think of these baby names?

I due with twins. I dont know the sex yet. I already have one child -- Addyson Grace

Looking for boy/girl names that would be cute. My husbands name is Thomas and our agreement is, if they are boys, one will be named Thomas with a different middle name than his own.

So, if its 2 boys, Thomas Ryder (then our last name)???

What do you think of the nme Ryder?

If its girls, Im leaning toward McKenzie Reese & Leia Kate. What are your thoughts on these?
