Yesterday I was a part of a giant water balloon fight (I do Colorguard, so it was with the 200 band members and about 4000 water balloons), and some kid ran ful force into me, knocking me into the pavement, and I slid quite a ways. I got a bunch of scrapes, but the one I have on my pinky is pretty serious looking. To give you an idea, the scratches are going horizontally across my knuckle and lower pinky, and it's swollen. Not giant, but noticeably larger than the other. I have no problem moving it, obviously it hurts because of the scratches.

Is it normal for scrapes from pavement to be swollen for a few days?

How would I know if it's sprained/fractured/etc?

About a month ago, I went to the doctors thinking I had appendicitis. It turned out everything was fine, and the next day, the pain was gone. But the last couple days I have had the same pain on my right side, and it hasn't gone away. The pain isn't anything more than minor menstrual cramps as of right now. The pain also seems to alter between the right and left side, but weighs more on the right.

I should also mention that I'm constipated right now, and ive been taking steps to fixing it.

So if you've had appendicitis, what does it feel like?

Whats the difference between constipation and appendicitis?

I've had many false alarms this summer, an it might be because I haven't done anything as far as getting up and moving.

If all you're going to say is "Go to the doctor" then don't bother. I know that, and I tell my mom, and she just gets mad saying how I'm gonna waste her money by going to the doctor for nothing. That's why I want to know when it gets bad, and how to not have that happen (as in get to the doctors before it happens)

Please help, any information will be appreciated.

Okay, to start out, I am a girl, 16 years old, and about 115 pounds.

So, for the past like 3 weeks or so, I've been having a pain in my chest, mainly in the upper left area, almost at my shoulder. There are times when it's on my right side, or in the center of my chest. And the pain varys from barely there, to about a 6 on the pain scale. It's also accompanied by difficulty breathing, and a dead arm feeling. The symptoms also dont always occur together. I am also probably dehydrated because I am terrible at drinking water

I've also been very shaky, mainly in the hands (like if I hold them up, they shiver, like I drank to much caffeine). I've also been feeling kind of nauseous, though haven't thrown up, and I haven't had trouble keeping food down.

Also, I can not get up with out my heart racing. I'm no Olympic athlete, but I do dance, which requires a lot of endurance. I've never had this happen before. It might be because its summer, so I have been a lot lazier than I am during the school year.

So to sum it up,

A tight feeling in my chest that varies from left, right, and center.

Pain varies.

Nausea

Difficulty breathing

And pounding heart when I get up.

This has all been going on for about 3 weeks.

Any help would be appreciated. I have tried telling my mom to take me to the doctor, but she firmly believes nothing is wrong, while I just feel like something is wrong.

Oh, and I do have a heart condition, I don't remember the medical name for it, but basically one of the heart valves is "flappy" it doesn't open and close like this /\/\. It opens and closes more like {}{}, more soft and floppy. I was diagnosed with this about 5 years ago, however, the doctor said it was nothing to worry about and wouldnt handicap me in anyway.

So from about 9pm last night to now, I have been having a sharp pain in the left side of chest, it kind of feels like I have been scratched across my breast. My other breast does not hurt though. I also feel like I'm kind of hyperventilating at times, but not too extremely. I'm really shaky too.

This is a new kind of pain, I'm used to the feeling of heartburn, because I get that a lot. Can someone please help me understand if this is a serious pain or anxiety? (Because when I begin looking for reasons for chest pain, I begin to freak out a little and I almost always assume its a heart attack)

Some facts about me

-I'm 16 years old

-I weigh about 115 pounds

-I am 5'7"

-I am not extremely active right now, but I do Colorguard which keeps me active

-I don't have the healthiest diet, there's times where we have pretty crap food for dinner, but we also eat healthy dinners and breakfasts from time to time. I have especially been avoiding fast food since its begun to give me heartburn

-I'm a vegetarian, and have been one for four years

So, before you say anything, I know that appendicitis is nothing to joke about and seeing a doctor is crucial.

So around 2 hours ago, I began getting really bad abdominal pain, it is now kinda centered in my right side (warning sign #1). Im now feeling nauseous (warning sign #2), and even the sight of food makes me feel sick. I've been reading about signs and symptoms, and how serious it can get it a short amount of time. I'm really really worried, I have told my mom, even straight up asking if she thought it was appendicitis. Her answer was that it was probably constipation (which is also a symptom for appendicitis). I took a shower and the pain was numbed for a little bit but then came back.

At first I thought the pain was menstrual cramps (the ones you get in between your period), but I then realized that these don't feel like my usual menstrual cramps.

So my point: what are the odds that this is appendicitis, and what are the odds I just need to go to the bathroom?

And because I know there is a 95% chance my mom is not going to take me to the hospital tonight, (and even if she did, it would be the ER, which means a good 6 hours of waiting), what are the odds, if appendicitis, the it will burst tonight? Will it be okay to wait until tomorrow to go to the doctor?

One more thing, for those who have had appendicitis, what does it feel like? And if it burst, what does it feel like before and after it bursts?

Oh, and I'm 16 years old.

All day I have had a burning sensation in my chest. Last night (6-6-12) I had cream of potato soup, which I don't believe is a food to cause heartburn, please correct me if I'm wrong. My heart rate is abnormally fast for resting rate (about 130bpm).

I'm really starting to worry, I took two antacid tablets, but it hasn't gone away. Is this a situation where I should consider going to the doctor? And because it is almost midnight, would it be okay to wait until tomorrow?

-The burning feeling is right between my breasts (almost more on the right side)

-The burning is a tingling, almost warm feeling. Like if your were to swallow cinnamon flavored gum.

-I am 16 years old

-I weigh about 115 pounds

-I am currently sick with a cold, (stuffy nose, cough, etc)

Please let me know if this is serious, or if I'm just freaking out and it's just anxiety and breast pain.

But when I go to purchase a book, the website keeps saying that there is a problem with my card. Exact Message: "Sorry, but there was a problem with your payment and we couldn't process your order. Please verify your billing information or provide a different credit card." And I have verified the information multiple times, but keep getting the same results. Please help!

I had a friend who moved away, but he had one of the arcade things (the one's you'd find well... in an arcade, like the actual like huge-o box thing... I don't know how to put it) anyway it was a really fun game, and I played it all the time. But it was so long ago, and I can't remember the name of it. Anyway here's some things that I remember from it:

-You had to collect keys, while dodging monsters.

-Each level was a maze looking thing (like pacman) instead of running around (like left4dead)

-I *think* once you collected all the keys you had to rescue a princess or get a treasure or something like that.

Anyway, it wasn't a very wide known game, from what I could tell. But if you could give me some games that kind of fit the criteria then I could try them out.

I'm 14 years old and I started my first period on March 7, 2010. So I haven't had it for very long. I missed last months period, and I'm supposed to start today, but it hasn't come yet. I'm still a virgin, so its not like I'm pregnant. I'm 112lbs. Can someone please tell me why I'm missing my period?

Just recently I've noticed that my female cat is very large around the abdomen area. And her nipples are larger.. but not a really rosy pink. Does the color of nipples really matter? Shes not fixed and is an outside cat. So I'm leaning that she might be pregnant. Before I take her to the vet, is there anyway I can check?

First off, what is your opinion on it? And secondly, do they really show the Twilight Eclipse trailer with it? I've heard a lot of rumors that they don't even show anything

But we're sort of in a writer's block and need ideas, things that are annoying, get on your nerves, etc. So the only guidline is basically. keep it PG15 or lower. It can be teenage-ish. but not to adult-ish. know what im saying?

I need to make a CD for language arts for the story Flowers for Algernon- by Daniel Keyes. So I need songs for the CD that express the story. Heres a quick summary:

Charlie, a mentally-handicapped adult, desperatly wants to become smart and normal like everyone else. So he turns to two scientists who believe they found a way to operate on the brain and make ones IQ 3 times larger. Charlie undergoes the surgery and his intelligience slowly grows. The scientists are not only watching Charlies progress, but also a rats, his name is Algernon. As Charlie continues to track his progress in Progress Reports, he explains how he realized his "friends" were never his friends and that made him depressed. As time went on, Algernon began to misbehave and was gaining amnesia. Algernon eventually died due to brain shrinkage. Charlie feared that he to would die of this and ran away somewhere far away from his hometown because he didnt want to hurt anyone else with the ups and downs of his IQ.

So basically I'm looking for songs that express:

-Depression

-Excitedness

-Confusion

-Forgetfullness

-and anything else you can think of. You might know the story better then i do :)

We just bought a 6 wk. old kitten. And we know that the average age a kitten can be sold is 8 wk. So hes a happy kitten and hes cute because he tries to nurse off of our fingers :) But a few days ago we noticed that his stomach became really bloated and his butt was red and looked sore. He doesn't have diarrhea so much as a wet form of his poop. And he doesn't stop eating.

We have 5 other adult cats who do not have this problem and they all eat the same dry food. So please let me know. My mom questions that it might be with worms, but the seller said she gave the worms... vaccine thing. Anyway please let me know.
