  • My cat is disoriented and walking in circles...?

For the past two days my cat has been really lethargic and barely eating or drinking. Just this evening he started spending a lot of time in the short hall in our basement. His litter box is down there, so at first I didn't think much of it. For the past few hours, he has been wandering around down there, totally disoriented. He's walking quite slowly, with his head down. His tail is constantly wagging and is also low to the ground. His eyes seem very dilated, but the lighting is a little dim down there. Sometimes he walks in circles, sometimes he walks around the perimeter of the room, and often he puts his face in a corner and just stands there. I tried holding on to his collar to stop him, but he kept attempting to walk forward as though he wasn't even aware anything was holding him back. He is usually a very friendly and alert cat, but right now he doesn't even seem to know when I'm around. I picked him up once and he felt limp. His arms twitched every now and again, but I was holding him far away from my body (I was concerned he may be aggressive, but he's not)... This cat was a stray that we started feeding back in October. According to the vet (when we brought him for a general health check up a few months ago), he's around five years old. My parents were hesitant to bring him to the vet again, but are now willing to reconsider. I'm afraid we might be too late though... Does anybody know what might be wrong with him?

  • Help with very simple Spanish?

How do I say "enough" in Spanish? Like, for example, "the world is not big enough." Please translate the whole sentence - I have no idea where to even put the word... (I searched for it on wordreference.com, but it gave me both bastante and suficiente. I don't know which I need, or if it even matters...)

  • Are these pains normal?

Every time my period comes around, I ALWAYS have some pretty intense knee pains. It almost feels extremely sore, but I can't get relief without medicine. It is usually only my right knee, but sometimes I'll also feel it in my other knee and joints. I also tend to feel nauseated the first day of my period. Are these issues normal? Has anybody else experienced them?

  • What are some problems with keeping a betta in a small bowl?

I'm am just curious. My betta is swimming happily in a 5 gallon tank, and I have no intention of transferring him to a little bowl. But what is wrong with keeping a betta in a small bowl? Other than the fact that the poor thing has extremely limited swimming space, are there any real problems with it?

(Again, I'm just curious. I would never keep a fish in a container that small, so please don't snap at me. I know some people can get pretty heated about these kind of topics...)

  • Poll: Do you feel the Twilight series is overrated?

I'll admit the first book Twilight was pretty good, but the rest? A total waste of life. New Moon was a pity party, Eclipse wasn't memorable... and Breaking Dawn - the worst by far - had no conflicts at all. In the third section of the book, this is how I'd describe it: "Everything is great! No problems, hooray! Oh no! They're going to kill Re- Nope, everything is great!"

    What do you think?

Hey, and just for fun if you ended up going to (or being dragged to) the movie... Do you think Robert Pattinson is attractive? Rate him 1 - 10. I give him -7....

  • To those who believe in ghosts...?

Why do you think people become ghosts instead of going to Heaven or Hell? Or... Do you think they are from Heaven/Hell/wherever but can visit Earth? I don't believe in ghosts, but other people's theories on this sometimes make me wonder....

  • How much ibuprofen do you have to take to cause an ulcer?

Of course, I'm talking if you take it incorrectly - without food. Today I took two doses of ibuprofen (a total of four pills) without eating. The first time I just ate very little, and the second time I ate a half hour later. I've never forgotten to eat with ibuprofen, so I'm really paranoid! Especially now that I'm feeling some different pains in my stomach and upward... Again, though, I could just be making myself sick with worry. So... what do you think?

  • Are these problems normal?

When I get my period, I always have a ton of extra problems. The strangest are nausea (sometimes I do throw up) and joint soreness. My knees are always affected, but sometimes it spreads to my hips, back, and - at it's worst - up toward my shoulders.

Is this normal? It worries me sometimes...

  • How much of a fire hazard is a brooder lamp?

I'll be keeping chicks in my porch, and I've been a bit worried about a fire from my brooder lamp. How dangerous is it really to have the lamp? Do I need to be careful and specifically avoid using some item?

  • What is a good breed for a pet chicken?

I'll be ordering 3-5 chicks a little closer to summer this year. I'm hoping to get docile chickens that are decent layers. Eggs aren't priority, though. The breed also has to be pretty tough for Wisconsin winters. The only other thing I want to point out is that I live in town. I don't know if there are breeds that are specifically loud, but I thought I'd point out that I can't have them. So, any breed ideas?

By the way, do Barred Plymouth Rocks fall under the category I just described? I've always really liked them!

  • Can you tell me what's wrong with my fish?

I have three platys in a five gallon fish tank. They've been there for only two months. For over a week now, two of them have not eaten (one of which just died). They've been just hovering around, either behind the filter or by/in the little shelter they have. Their color faded significantly, but that's probably because they hadn't eaten. The third is as healthy as ever. The only change I've made throughout the two months is that I started feeding them dried bloodworms (only once a week) about three weeks ago. Both the healthy one and the one that died really loved them, so I doubt that's a problem. Something strange I DID notice is that both the sick ones are girls, if it makes any difference. So can anybody tell me what's wrong with them???

Note: I'm not exactly expecting to save the other fish's life, I just want to make sure I can prevent it from happening to any future fish.

  • How old should a ewe be in order to breed her?

I just want to know in general. It's part of a big project in school, and just searching the internet isn't helping! :(

  • What do I need to know about chickens?

I've been volunteered to get a chick or two in roughly 20 days when they're supposed hatch. I basically know nothing about chickens, so give me as much information as possible. I live in Wisconsin, so it gets quite cold in the winter and moderately warm in the summer. I need to know from what I should feed my chicken (other than just chicken feed) to what I should do with them in the winter.

    Thanks in advance! ~Emily~

  • What can I do to keep baby platy fish (fry) from taking over my small tank?

I have a very small tank - only 5 gallons. In it I have 3 platies, two of which females. Obviously, I can't have tons of babies in there, too. I'm thinking about removing the male, but one fish is already (VERY) pregnant. How can I insure the babies won't stay???? Is there a good chance that my other fish will eat them? Thanks in advance!!!
