whats the difference between the words "unity" and "united"?

it seems to me that they have the same meaning, but it doesn't make sense that two words mean the same thing.

my cat is about 3-4 weeks pregnant and loves to eat chickpeas... as far as i can tell, they cant do her any harm; they are all protein and carbs..

but any ideas as to why?

i was told by someone that plants have the equivalent of a pulse. has anyone heard that? this person said that this so called pulse is how the plants transfer water throughout themselves.
