  • pixie cut, yes/no...?

I'm so bored with my hair, I really want a cute short haircut. I'm thinking about a pixie cut with full bangs or maybe a short asymmetrical haircut but I'm not sure yet. Opinions?

BQ: I'm also considering getting a facial piercing but I'm not sure about that yet either. Should I get one, and if I do what should it be?

  • first tattoo - sizing?

I want a rather large tattoo that starts a bit on my shoulder blade and goes onto my upper arm, almost like a half sleeve, but probably stopping a bit before my elbow. is this too much for a first tattoo? I've heard people recommend getting something small as your first but I kind of have my heart set on this design. I can't really think of any other tattoo I'd want and I don't want to settle for something else just because of some arbitrary advice that says I shouldn't get something big

I'm an 18 year old girl, if that matters, and I probably won't be getting a tattoo for another year or two just so I can make sure I'm decided on the design

opinions? I don't want to end up regretting it

  • deciding on a tattoo design?

I have an idea for a tattoo but I'm not really 100% sure about it yet. Would I be able to have a consultation and pay an artist to design it without getting the actual tattoo right away? Like would I be able to get the design and take the summer to think it over and then make an appointment when I'm ready or do I have to get the design and the tattoo at relatively the same time?

I've never gotten a tattoo before so I don't really know how all this works.

  • opinions on this poem?

I feel like some of the ideas don't really flow together too well, like I have too many things I want to say and not enough space to say it all. I'm not really sure how to improve this poem so any comments, thoughts, or criticisms are welcomed and greatly appreciated!

    ______________________________________

in the spring of my life, the flowers of my heart

    were only buds,

    fragile —

but they bloomed with your encouragement,

and birds sang in the darkest parts of me.

by midsummer, my heart was a garden in full-bloom,

where the dew shined like silver

and the shadows of the past were no more than

    a faraway forgotten dream.

then autumn came, as it always does,

and you found others with purer flowers

and an innocent beauty that I lacked.

come winter, my heart was a frost-bitten shell

    filled with rime and ash,

and I was left alone and shivering —

all parts of me now dark.

gathered flowers are quick to wither,

but the plucked bud does not mind this

    because it is admired.

    loved.

    my flowers weren’t plucked,

    but left neglected,

    cherished by no one.

nascent blossoms — unlearned in the art of suffering —

may dare to defy the desolation of my winter soul,

but heavy raindrops and wicked storms

quickly drown and strangle those audacious buds.

    decrepit,

    worn and left,

garden air turns hazy, shrouded by mist and fog and rain and snow —

I find the storm is always saddest

    after summer.

sometimes, someone will visit the graveyard that used to be my garden

to leave a rose and a kind thought on the headstone of my heart.

that too is destroyed by hoarfrost,

and the sparrows weep instead of sing.

    but still,

this garden is open to you.

    always…

    if only you would ask.

it's sort of difficult to see in this picture but I want mine to look somewhat like this

  • changing my name... not sure what to?

I'm planning on changing my name soon but I'm not sure what I want to change it to! Right now I'm considering Clara, Eleanor, Lenora, and Alice, but I'm not totally sold on any of them. I'm looking for timeless, old-fashioned names. I want something feminine and unusual but not unheard of. Most of the lists I've looked at seem to have the same names on them (Mary, Elizabeth, Victoria, etc) so I'm looking for some less common ones.

    Thanks!

sloped shoulders, like hills of fresh snow

broken only by the skin of your hands —

learned in the philosophy of the flesh

    and kissed with sun —

shiver under first touch of cool fingers,

    writing poetry on soft skin

    tongue sweet as cherries

    raises goosebumps on virgin flesh,

and the red of my lips

hungers for the fruit of your body

with a lust that burns not like fire

    but coals, smoldering —

    low and steady,

    unstable and infinite

you mark me with your blood kisses,

turning my skin first brightest red

    then the same purple-blue

    as the sky after sundown,

and as you tear the smoke and lilies from my hair,

I drink in the stars of your eyes —

they look best when they are burned into mine

    softly, softly

    gossamer eyelashes brush abused skin

and we surrender to the wanderlust

for the fields of the flesh —

thunder crashes and storm clouds roll to the rhythm of our bodies

    intertwined,

    connected —

    nocturnal love,

the power that hid in your veins,

the blood that warmed your body and beating chambers,

    burned my heart to ash

    when I write of you,

    I write not with ink

    but with blood

  • dying hair more than two shades darker?

okay I was reading the instructions of this black hair dye I bought yesterday and it says not to use it if you’re going more than two shades darker than your current hair color

and I’m blonde right now so black is definitely more than two shades darker, but my natural hair color is like a medium brown

I really want to dye my hair black. what will happen if I dyed it? should I just go ahead and do it?
