  • How do I stop getting answers to my question? Community already chose a Best Answer.?

I posted a question years ago: "Are there any Reverse phone number lookups that'r actually free?" The community already chose a Best Answer. But i am still getting answers, which are all spam at this point. Shouldn't it stop taking answers after a "Best Answer" is chosen? How do I make it stop taking answers??

I tried to find contact info or a link or something to connect with an actual person at Yahoo Answers via email, chat, 800#, whatever, but ironically it is nearly impossible to get real help from Yahoo. All I can find are articles.... "Is this your question? Is this your question? Did this answer help?" (ugh, No!!)

So I guess this is kind of a 2-part question then... How do I stop getting answers on my very old question? And if you can't help with that, how on earth do I actually CONTACT some sort of real support for Yahoo Answers?

  • Wisteria Vine in shade?

I read that the Wisteria Vine thrives in full sun. Does this mean that it will NOT grow in shade? Like will it die? Or will it just not grow "well" in shade?

I have one that I am thinking about planting in the back yard. The highway runs parallel to our street, so there is a big sound barrier wall between the backyard and the highway. Unfortunately our side of the wall does not get a whole lot of sun, but the ground does stay nice and damp there.

Lastly, from what I read and saw in pictures, the Wisteria climbs by wrapping around things. Does it cling as well? I did see one photo of this kind of vine growing up the side of an old brick house, which makes me hope it might grip the wall in my back yard too ('cause I have no intention of trying to find a trellis that big).

Thank you for any info or advice you can offer up!

  • Are there any reverse phone number lookups that'r ACTUALLY free?

So I get a text from a number I dont recognize, and I wanna look up who it is. If it's a WRONG number, I dont care just textin' them back and bein like "who is this?". But on the chance that it's someone I SHOULD know, or should have in my phone but dont, I'm gonna feel like an a$$ askin who it is. (Or for all i know its someone i wanna avoid and the LAST thing id wanna do is reply.) So... i wanna look it up, but all the sites that claim free reverse phone number lookup, are not actually free if u wanna see the person's name. I think its pretty dumb to have to pay to find out who's number it is simply because they're not in my contact list on my phone.

  • How long to wait for a debit card charge to post?

I've recently started using my check card again (always as credit, never debit... if that matters...) 10 days ago I used it for gas, and the charge still hasnt shown up on my account. Now I'm doubting myself, thinking "did i use a different card?", but i checked my other two, and its not on either of those. "Did I pay with cash and accidently write it in my check register?"... I dont know... i rarely have actual cash on me, but it does happen sometimes haha... Oh, and no, i dont have the receipt anymore, all i have to go off of is what i wrote down. So how long do i wait for a charge to show up, before i can safely remove it and re-balance the check register? a month? a year? now?

Now I've got a boyfriend that I "officially" started going out with on New Years, though we had been hanging out / friends / flirting for a long time before that. Do I get him something for Valentine's Day??? If so, what? I dont just wanna rely on my girly instincts for this. Please tell me honestly what a man would actually appreciate for <3 Day.

  • Payroll Deductions from Unused Vacation?

I recently quit my job after 4 years, as I had accepted a position elsewhere. My last day there was May 12th. Just the other day I got a check in the mail from my old job, paying out my unused vacation days (not sure I worded that correctly, this was my first "real" job, so the whole idea of being paid for vacation i didnt use is new to me). Here is what I'm wondering about... the usual tax deductions were taken out, which I can understand. But the deductions for health insurance and dental insurance were also taken out. Is it right for those to be deducted from this money even though i ceased to be covered by that insurance a month ago when i quit my job? I dont really see the point... i mean, where is that money going if im not covered any longer? Am I right to think that is kinda wrong? Should i contest this and try to get that money back?

Please only answer if you know what you are talking about, because I dont really, and i could use some real advice on the issue. Thank you.

  • What should I be using on my skin to counter effects of my habit?

So I'm 27 yrs old and female with fair skin, and i live in Wisconsin (so no excessive sun exposure). I've always been a pretty low maintenance person, like I only wash my face in the shower and with whatever soap i happen to be using for everywhere else. And the the lotion i put on my face is the same stuff i use on the rest of my body. Oh, and I rarely wear makeup, though Id like to do so more often. I'm not getting any younger, and I'd like to try to start taking better care of my skin especially on my face, but I dont know the first thing about all the crazy products out there. I walk into the beauty aisle and walk right back out lol... makes me dizzy looking at all the options, every one of which has a commercial out there that claims "this is what you NEED!"

Here's my thing though... I have this little disorder thats sort of in the same family as OCD, similar to dermatillomania, but instead of picking at my skin, I constantly rub the skin, mainly on my face and hands. I'd try to explain but its difficult and you'll just think im crazy or something. I'm NOT looking for people to tell me I should stop because I already know that. I'm sure I'm doing no good for the skin on my face by rubbing it all the time, and I certainly dont WANT to damage it. I'll deal with trying to stop in my own time. What I'm wondering is what products should I be using to maybe help counter some of the unseen damage I am doing or have already done to the skin? And just general skin-care advice to help me navigate the jungle that is the health/beaty aisle haha.

Mature answers only please. I dont talk about these issues with people, so I'm going way out on a limb by doing so, and Id appreciate it if any immature folks reading this would refrain from rude comments or judgements.

  • Hey Mechanics!.. My antifreeze is "too strong"?

So I went and got my oil changed the other day, and of course they came out with all their extra little suggestions. One thing they said is that my antifreeze is "too strong" and if that keeps up it can get corrosive, or something. They suggested a "coolant flush" and quoted me $90 on that. I said I'd hold off and check with my dad.

My dad says I dont have to do a whole "coolant flush", that I can just replace the antifreeze thats in there with new stuff.

My friend who is a mechanic says to just add distilled water to the antifreeze thats already in there.

So now I wanna take a poll with all the auto mechanics out there. Sound off on what you would do if it was your car. Add water to the antifreeze? Replace the antifreeze? Do a coolant flush? And if the latter, would you say $90 is about right?

  • I need car suggestions... Ford Focus?...?

It's time for my second car. I want something kinda small but not necesarily sporty (i have a son, gotta fit his booster seat in the back). Something with good gas mileage cuz i have a lot of long-distance friends. And something that will last me a long time. Oh, and i dont have too much to spend. My initial budget was the $4000 in tax returns i set aside last year, but since seeing the price tags that are out there, im thinkin i may have to dip into this recent tax return as well (even though i WANTED to put that towards student loans... oh well...)

I've KINDA been lookin around used car lots, and i like the look of the Ford Focus, but dont know anything about it... or most other cars for that matter haha. I've got my dad who's been giving me bits of advice, but he doesnt really know much about that one either. Does anybody have one that they've put a lot of miles on? Is it pretty reliable? Not too many problems would u say?

Or just any advice/suggestions in general would be welcome. Like "this, this, and that" are good cars, but stay away from "yada yada, etc..."

    Thanx much!

  • Looking for a Specific Children's Book....?

When I was in 7th grade (1995 or 1996), I was going to a Lutheran school at the time. One day the teacher randomly pulled out a childrens book between classes to show to the classroom. It was a book that explained the Trinity by comparing it to an apple (3 parts, one apple). I dont remember the name or anything, but if this sounds familiar to anyone, I'd really like to find this book.

I'm sure there are other good childrens books out there that explain the Trinity, but this one has special meaning to me. The night before the teacher showed us the book, in my bedtime prayers, i had asked God to help me understand the Trinity. Now I have a son who will be 4 soon, and I'd love to add that book to his little library, if I can find it. Any help that anyone might have would be greatly appreciated! :)

  • Mechanic Gratuity / Tips?

What is normal for tipping your auto mechanic? I've never tipped for little things like oil changes, but I've recently been getting some more expensive work done, and have wondered what or if i should tip? Would it be like in a restaurant? 10 - 15% ? Please answer if you are a mechanic, cuz I would like to know the reality of it rather than just random peoples' personal opinions.
