Are there any reverse phone number lookups that'r ACTUALLY free?

So I get a text from a number I dont recognize, and I wanna look up who it is. If it's a WRONG number, I dont care just textin' them back and bein like "who is this?". But on the chance that it's someone I SHOULD know, or should have in my phone but dont, I'm gonna feel like an a$$ askin who it is. (Or for all i know its someone i wanna avoid and the LAST thing id wanna do is reply.) So... i wanna look it up, but all the sites that claim free reverse phone number lookup, are not actually free if u wanna see the person's name. I think its pretty dumb to have to pay to find out who's number it is simply because they're not in my contact list on my phone.

Update:

Well obviously I will text back & ask, if I cant find the number. I'm just sayin', if I could look it up first, that would be preferable, and it shouldn't be so hard just to look up a friggin number, am I right? If the internet would make it as easy as clickity-click - "oh! thats who it is..." then it wouldnt even seem like im making a big deal. ;)

Get a No Cost Phone Number Scan at https://bitly.im/aL6Eb

Its a good way to start. The place lets you to do a no cost phone scan simply to find out if any telephone data is there. This basic alalysis is done without cost. For a full detailed report its a modest payment.

Here's Reverse / Whose Number Lookup page. If you're talking about cell phones, you usually have to pay for that. I've had pretty good luck just using Google a phone number to find out who's calling. If you are researching a quantity of numbers, though, I suppose, you might want a service. I can't imagine why the average person would need to research a quantity of numbers, though, so I assume this is business-related, and it then seems only fair that you pay for a service. But maybe it's not.

Is it really that much trouble to just text the # back & ask who it is? Use the excuse "sorry my phone had an error & lost some of my contacts & I cant remember whose number this is" if you are that scared. Nowadays most people don't know contact numbers off the top of their heads. You are making it seem more of a big deal than it really is.

Edit: It's called "Privacy" that's why all numbers aren't just listed online for free. People can also opt-out of having their numbers publicly listed online or in phone books. I for one, am glad that my information is not listed when my phone is looked up.
