I have a 1997 car purchased in 2002 with an anti-theft device. There is a sensor with a blinking red light under the ignition, and the "key" is a translucent plastic cylinder with some electronics or coil of electrical material inside. To unlock the ignition interlock, I have to wave the cylinder near the blinking light, until it's recognized by the circuitry. The cylinder has the word SECURICODE on it, and is about 1-1/2 inches long and 1/4 inch in diameter, with the coil being about half that in diameter, as far as I can tell.

Any ideas how I can get a duplicate, if I can verify proof of owernship of the vehicle?

I recall reading sometime in the last century, that there was a recent (within 100 years) nearby (within 50 light years) nova. It was predicted that the plasma shock wave (traveling at 1/3 the speed of light -- don't ask, I took a graduate-level relativity course at the California Institute of Technology) was supposed to hit the solar system in 2003 or 2005. If the calculations are correct, it obviously didn't do very much, but does someone else recall seeing this or have any idea where the nova might be? (If the date recalculates to 2012, we would have yet another "coincidence" about the end of the world!)

I asked a question here (well, in Travel / Air Travel) on March 28, and it was deleted sometime after I voted "No Best Answer".. I received no notification of the deletion, as far as I can tell. Any idea what happened?

My wife could qualify for (early) CPP, but does not qualify for US Social Security on her own credit. I've read through the coordination benefit rules; she doesn't qualify for US Social Security even with Canadian credits included.

What happens when I retire and she gets US spousal Social Security payments? I _think_ the payments will end up coordinated and the CPP payments go away, but I'm not sure.
